Wait a minute. TouchMe’s Hp is low. James looked through his skills and saw exactly what he needed.

Angels Touch- Heal others with radiant energy, damages undead and fiends. Damages any creature with sufficient negative karma.

He grabbed TouchMe’s shoulder and used the ability till his new friend was up to full. He looked at his mana pool, only a quarter was gone.

“Now let’s got hunt.” Five minutes and one level up later. “We have only been fighting rabbits for the last few minutes and now were being chased by a Direwolf miniboss! I told you we shouldn’t have gone into the forest so soon!” TouchMe screamed both running full speed to stay ahead of the level 12 Direwolf miniboss. “I wanted to abuse this title I got but it was a bad idea sorry your right.” Pausing for a moment before continuing. “Besides how was I supposed to know this fucker would show up, its day one!”

Alright think James what do you have on you? Beginner armor, a basic iron sword, and 1000 gold, all too little to help them. Wait a minute. “I see players! Let us run this fucker straight to them and get some help, unless you have a better idea!” TouchMe looked at him then back to the monster chasing them, “I don’t like this, but it seems we have no choice.”

They broke the tree line monster in tow, the other players were only about 50 meters away and had already noticed them. “Help us!” they both shouted continuing their run for dear life. There were 12 players in the group. Now that they were closer it appeared to them that they had been fighting over who would hunt in the area and who would leave. As soon as they saw them running though they had formed up into two groups.

“Don’t worry noobs, we will kill this monster!” the human leader with all his seemingly human buddies charged forward followed closely behind by his team the other people he had been arguing with just sat back on the grass to watch. We raced by the human group, wait not human, some form of sun elves, the radiant skin and pointy ears gave it away.

We kept running until we were only a dozen feet from the other group where they promptly collapsed. The group in front of them was comprised of what appeared to be 3 angels in light clothes, a dwarf in plate mail, a human rouge, and an elf with a magic staff. Though he could not say it, James still could not believe how many heteromorphs he had seen in the last 20 minutes, they must have been popular back in the early days.

The largest of the angels approached them extended his hands out and from his palms emitted a gentle light. James could feel his fatigue being alleviated. “Thanks for the help, what is that ability if you don’t mind me asking?” “Oh it’s…” The man was stopped by his dwarven teammate when he coughed loudly, the angel turned back to face his teammates, “It’s fine, it’s a basic class.” The apparent leader of the group locked eyes with the dwarf who just rolled his eyes exclaiming, “Fine give away all our secrets why don’t you!”

“Sorry about old Stonebeard over there, he’s always like this, please don’t take offense.” He was about to continue when, “That’s Ironbeard and you know…” The dwarf’s words were cut off as they heard a scream. The party of Sun elves were not fairing very well, two of their group died with a single swipe of the huge beasts’ claws.

Now that he had the chance to properly look at the beast, he knew it would how bad it would have been to fight. This thing is about as tall as wise king of the forest when he stands, and one and a half time as long, with their tails included. “You guys up to help us clean up the beast when these assholes are dead?” Asked James while pointing back at the group fighting the Direwolf. “Sure, should be worth it, might even be enough for me to level up again. We will even let you keep the monster drop IF there is one, and only IF we get the loot from the other players. IF there is no monster drop, you will not get anything but the EXP. IF this does not sound fair, we can always just kill you guys.” The angel leader emphasizing the ifs of the arrangement.

James looked to TouchMe who gave a simple sad nod and a sigh. “We will accept your deal; shall we temporarily join your party?” Before the angel could speak the dwarf chimed in again, “NO! No more angel’s! We already have three of you!” The leader angel stood there frozen for a moment before turning to face the dwarf, “Can you kill that thing without them?” he said pointing back to Direwolf who was now chasing the last two elves around in circles.

“I sure as hell can!” The angel pulled up a menu tapped a few keys and suddenly, “You did not just kick me from the party!” “I did because your being an asshole, now go kill that thing. If you win you can keep the drops. Sound fair to you guys?” His tone toward the dwarf was hostile but when he asked them their opinion that hostility vanished.

James once again looked to TouchMe who gave an expression of I do not know, “Sure why not, then we can get back to killing rabbits.” He had approval, “Sure, and IF he dies, we get his loot and any of the possible monster drops.” The angel leader considered for a moment as the dwarf gave his war cry, “For beard and booze!” and charged as fast as his stubby legs could carry him toward the Direwolf. Seeing his ex-teammate rush toward almost certain death he made his decision, “Fine, the dumbass is about to die anyway.”

James turned to see the dwarf charge the Direwolf, thinking, I wonder if you can get drunk in Yggdrasil? The angel once again opened his console and with a few more taps James received a notification.

You have been invited to a party

Would you like to join? Y/N

James looked to TouchMe who seemed to be reviewing the same message. So, he clicked to join, followed immediately by TouchMe. No sooner had they joined the team did they turn to see a screaming projectile dwarf heading straight for them. Thinking fast James raised his sword point forward intercepting the dwarf, who immediately died due to a combination of low health, being stabbed in the face, and a lucky crit.

Critical Hit!

You have slain a dwarf +EXP, no EXP penalty because of “Angelic Defender”.

You are now level 3!

You have earned the skill “Lucky Strike”- 5% increase to critical hit chance. Increases drop chances for items drops from monsters by 1% for every critical hit inflicted on the creature.

Your weapon has broken due to critical damage.

Before the shock of his weapon breaking could hit him, he and the others looked at the monster after hearing the last scream of the last elf of the other party as the Direwolf tore his head off, killing him in a burst of EXP bubbles.

“Oh Fuck! I don’t have a…” finding that the dwarf had dropped his great sword upon his death. “Dwarven great sword equals a sword perfectly sized for an angel. It is about time that little shit did something useful. Pick up the sword and let us finish this beast!” He said charging forward, not even waiting for them.

James picked up the sword and together with TouchMe and the rest of the party they charged the miniboss. The fist blow was dealt by the leader angel, though he did it not wit a blade or club but with his glowing fists.

“He’s channeling energy into his fists, well of he can…” So, James focused remembering the feeling of using mana to heal his new friend and with that he pushed mana into his new sword and was not disappointed.

You have discovered the hidden skill “divine aspect”-You infuse your weapon with radiant light. Inflicts radiant damage in addition to weapon damage, small chance to ignite holy flames on your foes. Chances of igniting foes increases on critical hits.

James charged into battle with his now glowing blade being wielded with both hands. He could see the monster’s health bar; one good critical hit and it would die. If he ever saw those guys again he would have to thank them for making the fight much easier.

He turned to the leader who had backed off to let his other party members into the fray. “I need you to get me above it! Can you fly?” The leader simply smiled as he grabbed him and lifted off the ground and quickly was above the monster who just killed the elf.

When they were directly above its head he said, “Thanks for the lift, Bombs Away!” To which the leader began to dive drawing the minibosses’ who simply opened his mouth waiting for his prey to fall into his mouth. They accelerated downward the leader angel flying as fast as he could. James pulled his sword close to his chest pointed upward, well in this case downward toward the beast.

He and the other angel pierced the beasts mouth slicing open the flesh beneath its massive jaw and continuing the cut until the beast’s throat was sliced in two. Their momentum carried them through the beast continuing to the ground where the angel quickly reversed his direction to lessen the impact.

They only took minor damage thanks to the Direwolf’s body slowing them and the other angel reversing his direction of flight at the last moment. The boss exploded into EXP bubbles leaving several items behind, and a few notifications.

Critical Hit! Drop chances increased by 1%

Enemy has caught fire!

Enemy has been burned by radiant flames!

You have leveled up!

You have leveled up!

You are level 5!

“Holy Shit we did it!” there was a small cheer as everyone was tired. James finally got to assign what levels he wanted; he assigned his level ups to his angel racial level of course. He turned to see the others and decided to health them up before he collected the loot. He looked through his new skills and found two that were perfect.

“Holy aura”- Heals allies in the vicinity, inflicts radiant damage to enemies, small chance to ignite holy flames on your foes. Damages undead and fiends. Damages any creature with sufficient negative karma.

“Radiant Pulse”- Send forth a radiant pulse of energy healing allies within area of effect, inflicts radiant to enemies within the area of effect, small chance to ignite holy flames on your foes. Damages undead and fiends. Damages any creature with sufficient negative karma.

Congratulations your rank as an angel has increased, you can now fly at will.

He Quickly healed everyone till his mana ran out. Then he helped TouchMe to his feet and said to everyone, “Now the loot.”
