The families happy moment was ruined by Kol barging in yelling- "Nik, Nik, Nik."
Niklaus- "Yes what is it brother can't you see we were having a moment." not realizing he was admitting he was enjoying the happy moment.
Elijah, however, caught this and grinned to himself thinking about how Niklaus will be redeemed with this family.
Kol catching his breath since he was no longer a vampire- "They found the stake."
Niklau's face turned ugly as the rest of the family also lost their grins.
Niklaus- "Who are they?"
Kol now rested- "I'm not sure what they are, when we were using magic to track them all we could see was a magically shaped cat and let me tell you that wasn't easy to see either, they seem to have a way to hide from magical prying."
Niklaus not fully convinced asked- "How do you know they have the stake?"
Kol- "While we were watching them they headed deep into the woods away from everyone, it was actually becoming increasingly difficult to keep watch on them, we kept wanting to look away for some reason, I'm guessing the protection you had over it, anyways they brought it down and we watched as the stake fell into their hands."
Niklaus zoomed away to see if he could catch the culprits as well as check his hiding spot, the white oak stake wasn't the only thing hidden there.
Elijah took over the questioning- "Kol, while I do appreciate you helping the family, I have to ask, why are you helping Niklaus?"
Kol sneered- "Why does anyone help Niklaus, threats, and blackmail."
Elijah frowned- "Explain."
Kol- "Oh come off it Elijah, everyone knows who Niklaus is now, your the only one who still stands loyally by his side, even Rebekah has finally found a man I hear."

Elijah not liking his attitude started walking threateningly towards him- "I'll ask again, what is it Niklaus is holding over you?"
Kol- "He promised to give me the diamond I've been wanting since last we were here if I help him, but he keeps finding excuses to not hand it over."
Elijah raised an eyebrow- "What do you want with this diamond?"
Kol sweated a little, but managed to recall what Davina said- "Need it for a powerful cloaking spell so Niklaus can't find us when we leave."
Elijah didn't buy it for a second- "You told Niklaus this?"
Kol nodded- "Of course."
Elijah was even more concerned when he heard this, either his brother is losing his edge or he's planning something, he had to make sure the family stayed unified and happy as they had just a moment ago.
Elijah couldn't allow anyone, not even Niklaus himself to ruin his own future happiness.
Hayley asked what was left unsaid by Elijah- "If the diamond could do that wouldn't he have used it to help hide Hope."
Elijah seeing the cat was out of the bag didn't feel the need to hide anything from her and choose to put her concerns to rest- "Indeed he would, I'm assuming he knows Kol is lying and is trying to figure it out."
Kol paled- "I'm not...I just want to leave this family, this city, that's all!"
Rebekah feeling hurt from this asked- "Kol do you really hate us all that much?" she always liked Kol, he was the fun brother, when the rest were being boring, she would go have fun with him.
Kol looked at her with disdain- "Don't think I've forgotten how you betrayed me to Niklaus back then."

Rebekah recalled the party and then it clicked- "That's why you want the diamond, to make that dagger you were planning back then."
Kol paled when he realized his blunder of reminding her, he looked towards Elijah who was glaring at him- "Elijah hold on, It's not like it would kill him, tell me you wouldn't like to have the chance to dagger him and get back for all the daggering he's done to us, what say you Rebekah surely now you wouldn't mind a bit of revenge, think of it, daggering him could do him some good, stop him from running around and destroying everything you've been building for him, Elijah."
Elijah who was slowly walking to him stopped when he heard the last part.
Kol seeing this left one last comment- "Why should Niklaus be the only one who can't be daggered, I think it's past due for him to feel it."
Freya who stayed quiet till now finally voiced her own more pressing concerns- "While you all think on that, there is something far more important and dangerous coming our way, Dahlia is coming for Hope and we need to be prepared to stop her."
Hayley perked up- "Who is coming for my baby?"
Freya looking sad- "The reason Finn wanted to kill Hope was to prevent Dahlia from coming, she's our Aunt, the sister to Esther our mother who made a deal with Dahlia to give every generation firstborn to her."
She explained further about how she the firstborn was sold to her and how they survived the ages by sleeping through it, only to awaken every once in awhile accumulating more power each time before sleeping again.
"She will come for Hope, killing anyone who gets in her way and she is far more powerful than you can imagine."
Kol mocked- "So we have another sister who was sold by our mother to an aunt who wants to take our firstborn and you wonder why I hate our family, I think I'll be going now."
Elijah- "Enough Kol, this even affects you should you wish your future family members not to fall prey to her."
Kol hated to admit he was right, so he kept quiet as he stayed to listen.
Rebekah whispered to Hayley- "Don't worry dear, I'll have Nevan take care of everything." She gave Hope a gentle rub on the head to calm her, who was starting to feel the heaviness in the room.
Hayley gave a half-hearted smile and nodded trying to convince herself that there was nothing to worry about- "Yes I'm sure It'll be fine." Taking Hope from Rebekah so she could feel better with having Hope in her own arms.
