Destiny’s Thief? Alan thought in confusion.
Well… I said gift but while it might be a gift to you… to others, it’s a curse heheheh.
The words the mysterious being said made him forget for a moment the pain he was in as he checked his status screen.

A curse? Alan thought in confusion before a wicked smile spread across his face. I will be the curse of the gifted…. Perfect!
Chuckling coldly, Alan rose like a zombie from the ground. Ignoring the burns and wounds as a fiery spirit was sparked into existence inside him.
“What are you doing getting up so quickly you piece of trash?” The bitch spat out. She didn’t even spare him a glance as she charged up another fireball, preparing to finally kill his mother.
“DON’T TOUCH HER!!!” Alan yelled, his rage exploding out as he charged forward, subconsciously activating his ability.
Completely shocked, the bitch turned around and threw the fireball at him. Dodging to the left he narrowly avoided it as he shoved off the ground, jumping the last few feet to punch her with a glowing emerald green fist. A loud crunching noise rang out as his fist broke her jaw. Barely seconds later she crashed into the ground, screaming as the green light that was on his fist then traveled to her body seemed to suck away... something... from her.
“YOU ‘ITTLE SHIT I WI’ KILL YOU” She screamed, barely understandable from her broken jaw. She had never ever suffered a smack let alone a full-out punch.
Just as Alan was laughing from the exhilarating feeling of fighting back, a notification from his Status Window left him speechless.
Notification: Gained gift,
[Fire Toss] - Fire manipulation type

Not believing his eyes he watched as the bitch on the floor kept rolling around, screaming in agony about how she will torture him and his mother for eternity. As he is watching in silence, enjoying her agony, she looks at him and yells, “Fire I summon thee!” Giving Alan a fright that makes him instinctively jump to the right behind the bed. Only to be left feeling a sense of shame from his scare and a sense of joy from what he saw next.
The woman who had tormented him and his mother all these years was screaming at her hand, trying to summon the gift she was given at birth and had all throughout her life. However, now she was only managing to create a few sparks, not even enough to set newspaper on fire. It was a truly hysterical and evil moment for Alan.
His mother had taught him to always be kind and polite and never hurt anyone, but now, how could he ever go back to that path of innocence? When he had tasted such a rich dark world.
Laughing softly he tried to summon the fireball, He only had to wait a second before a fireball appeared. It was so easy to control, almost like a third arm. He played with it for a bit, throwing the bright red ball of flame back and forth between his hands before maliciously tossing it at the woman he hated most of all.
The bitch screamed in agony as her body was continually burned and charred. “I’m so sorry! I won’t ever hurt you or her again so please stop!!! I will do anything just stop!!!” Her voice mangled by the fire creeping down her already broken jaw and into her throat as her hair burned away.
Getting an idea, Alan turned off the flame. “If you release us from slavery I won’t burn you again.” He smirked with pleasure as the evil woman rolled around in pain on the floor, her cracked and blackened skin peeling as blood flowed across the floor beneath her.
Seeing hope, light a dim light at the end of a dark tunnel the bitch quickly summons her status screen and crying with the pain of moving her arms types something in. A second later Alan got a notification.

Notification: You are no longer a slave.
Lost Class: [Slave]
A miraculous feeling enveloped him as his stats which had always been sealed were unlocked. Being a Half-Elf wasn’t for nothing when considering the growth speed of humans combined with the naturally high stats of elves. Not checking his stats, he stepped forth with newfound power.
Alan spoke softly, almost a whisper as a cruel glint surfaced in his eyes. “So I promised not to burn you right?”
Panic-stricken, the evil bitch almost begged when she spoke confirming what he said. “Yes, yes you did!”
“Where’s your proof, bitch?” Alan laughed loudly as a fireball appeared on his hand and then was thrown at her.
Screaming in pain, the one who brought his mother half to death was turned into nothing but a pile of ash as the fire died down.
Notification: Gained 25 exp for killing ‘Sandra’
Notification: Leveled up!
Not paying any attention to the notifications, he ran over to his mother who was slowly leaving this world.
“Mom! Mom! Don’t die I will find someone to heal you! Please don’t leave me!” Alan cried bitterly. He couldn’t stand the thought of being alone. But no matter what he could do, her life was slipping away.
“Alan….. I am so sorry….” His mother whispered through her charred lips. “But I can’t go on anymore… please kill me… the agony I am in right now is unbearable…” She said with tears in her burned eyes.
“I WILL KILL EVERYONE!!! EVEN THE GODS FOR THIS!!!!” He screamed out loud as he snapped his mother’s neck. Not even the exp and gift he gained from his mother could make him feel anything but hell. In fact, it made it worse

The torment inside him was creating a whirlwind of guilt and mindrending pain. He collapsed shortly after killing his own mother, the agony from the act too much to bear even though she had begged him to.
When he came to two hours later, he was still crying, his body unbelievably heavy and torturously difficult to move, yet he finally awoke to reality when the mysterious being messaged him for a final time.
I know this isn’t the best time to talk to you and I haven’t explained a lot of your questions, but I only have enough strength left for this last message. You have no idea how hard it is to speak through a status window and not get caught by the gods. So my last few words shall be this: I am the Anomalous One. He who deviated from the dead end of the gods and rose above. I, however, was defeated in an all-out war with the gods when I was ascending and they trapped me here in this mortal reality. Find me…. Please…
And here is the last gift I will be able to give you, however, you will need to grow it to be able to use it to its’ fullest potential.
Notification: Gained Gift,
[The Ouroboros]
Alan thought for a bit as he looked at the last message from the Anomalous One.
It doesn’t matter who you are or who is against you, I owe you my life and my newfound power… I won’t forget this debt of gratitude...
Finally checking his status screen, he saw a few surprising and interesting things.

Alan whistled. If ten was a normal human status, that meant that at level one he was already three times as strong as a normal person.
And speaking of the normal person… Alan thought with an evil smile about a particular man who should be coming home very soon...

The Shards of Sylvia's Soul
In the little village of Nyberg, Sylvia is dreaming of a future with Rebecca at her side. Together, they could move overseas. But when bandits attack, all of her tender dreams turn to ashes. Forced out of her home, Sylvia forges new bonds with the Fri, the women who have taken it upon themselves to protect their little corner of the world. She also meets Afi, a strange bandit with a stern face and a soft heart. Saving each other from certain demise, they join in a bond which irreversibly ties their souls together. So bonded, they attempt to settle down. When a distant heir to the Crown asks for aid to reunite the country, Sylvia sees her chance to finally right all the wrongs committed against her family. In the pursuit of the throne, Afi and Sylvia come to risk their very lives. Sylvia uncovers the relationship between soul, magic, and divinity itself, but even in research, there is peril. It is not an easy task to balance the strain on her soul with the demands of the upcoming battle. In this world, the soul is not an incorporeal concept. To the contrary, the human soul is a physical object, an organ which resides in the chest of each individual. It is a great source of strength, but also of vulnerability. Hardship can leave scratches and blemishes, or even break the soul in two. The soul is each person's connection to divinity, to the magic which is ubiquitous to the world. It enables the cultivation of gods, but old legends warn of demons emerging in the presence of corrupt intention, and of hollow warriors, with no soul at all. There are two sides to every page.
