《Saga of the Celestial Warriors - The Journey》THE GUARDIAN

It was already morning in the Southstar kingdom, everyone were minding their own life and daily chores. At the castle, Amadeus Flick and Henry von Leon were in their rooms and it was time to switch their shifts. Henry woke up and put on his armor and spear on his back.
Amadeus was exhausted from night surveillance and his thoughts were devoted to the flow of cosmic energy.
“Go to sleep!”
“Thank you, Henry! I will rest for a while because the events of the night left me mentally exhausted,” says Flick, falling asleep shortly afterward.
Leon marched for his training routine on the training grounds of the Dragon Brigade.
The brigade was based on the versatility that dragons have in all territories, such as on the marshes, ground, the seas, the airs, forests, and volcanos. As they approached the training ground, the brigadiers looked seriously at Leon and began to whisper about the fame of the warrior and his skills with the spear. The brigade had soldiers who were versatile as the dragon which their armors were based upon.
The green armor was based on the green dragons, which were very good at fighting on the ground, forests, and marshes.
The blue armor was based on the dragons that inhabited the glaciers, specialists in water and ice combat.
The red armor was based on the red dragons that had great magical power and wielded the most powerful blasts.
The white armor was based on the white dragons that inhabited the top of the highest mountains and were the fastest and most skilled creatures in the air.
All armor had details of dragon scales and a helmet that resembled a dragon head. The warriors' abilities were very similar and differed very little from each other, with rare exceptions. They used several weapons, but they all had spears.
Leon observed the warriors training for a moment and continues with his training routine.
“Good morning! I see that you are more willing today, my good lad,” says Holt with a smile.
“Good morning, Commander! Would you like to train a little bit today?” asks Leon looking seriously.
“I'm not in the mood today, my lad. My belly is kind of weird! I would prefer that you help my subordinates with today's training if it is not to ask too much of your kindness, of course!” Holt pats Leon on the back and looks at the warriors.
“I can help. Maybe I can learn some new tricks.” Leon looked seriously at the brigadiers as Holt starts to laugh.
“I think it will be the opposite, boy!” says Holt crossing his arms and then looks at his subordinates.
“ATTENTION! All of you will be training with Henry von Leon today! Make a circle and pay attention to his techniques! Training will consist of one-on-one combat and the first to be defeated will give the other a shot!”
The warriors formed a circle that contained approximately five hundred men who were in that place. The kingdom contained more brigadiers, but not all were there at that time.
“Be careful not to kill my men, boy!
Holt moved away to watch the training while Leon and the first brigadier got ready for combat.
Leon's opponent wore blue armor and carried a long trident. The brigadier sprints towards Leon with a piercing attack. Leon with a quick movement of his spear strikes the trident, sending it far into the air and disarming the surprised brigadier.
“Don't rush to attack!” says Leon looking at the warrior.
“When this type of weapon is used at a long distance, your grip might get unbalanced, as you hold it close to the edge. Do not hold it so close to the extremity as you did, and try to use both hands in thrusts. If your weapon is attacked as I did now, take advantage of the force of the attack to rotate your weapon, your body, or change the grip! If you manage to pull that, you might be exposed, so, beware of the distance between you and the enemy.” Says Leon in a didactic manner.

The warrior bows in order to give way to the next warrior, but Leon asked him to try to attack one more time.
Leon continued to train the Dragon Brigade as Holt watched over calmly sipping some tea.
At the castle, inside Marjorie's room, the princess wakes up as she watched Charlotte bring a tray of food and tea.
“Good morning, Sunshine! Did you get to sleep well tonight?” Charlotte asks with a smile and puts the tray on the bed then kisses the princess on the forehead.
“I slept well Charlotte! Thanks for bringing me breakfast, you didn't have to worry.” says the princess returning the smile.
“I woke up earlier and I was bored, that was not a bother at all!” Charlotte started to pour tea for the princess. Marjorie had a strange face.
“I dreamed of you tonight! It was not a pleasant dream.” Marjorie took her cup of tea and looked down at it.
“Don't worry about it, not all dreams are hidden messages from the gods. What did you dream about?” Charlotte smiles at the princess.
“I saw you murdering people!” says Marjorie with sad eyes. Charlotte took a deep breath and looked down with a sad face.
“I hope you don't hate me after what I'm going to tell you.” Charlotte pauses briefly and then continues to speak sadly.
“After my troupe broke up I was in great need in the alleys. My mother was very ill and we had nowhere else to live. A rich man learned of my skills and came to me for a job. He paid me in advance an amount of a thousand gold coins. I thought he had nasty ulterior motives, but the job involved my skills. My despair was tremendous, the small thefts I did were no longer enough to support us. He asked me to kill an important merchant who was disrupting his business. The merchant lived in a very large house and had several security guards. They were sneaked out and I tried not to hurt those people. After I finished the job, I was devastated! I bought food and medicine for my mother and then rented a little house so we could live. That guilt consumed me... The Royal Guard was looking for the killer... I couldn't give myself up for my mother's sake, but she passed away a few days later. I went after the man who hired my services, I was going to hand him over to the Royal Guard and return what was left of the money, and then I would turn me in. What I didn't know was that man was the head of the assassins’ guild! When I invaded the mansion in which they resided, I confronted those murderers. I was able to eliminate several of them, but I was gradually cornered. Luckily for me, Hilbert was investigating the guild. He, Gödel, and the wolf entered that place and we managed to eliminate them all. I told them the whole story and I was ready to be punished! Hilbert told me that the first man was a former member of the assassins’ guild and that he would be executed even if he was arrested, for he was trying to form another faction of murderers. Hilbert granted me a pardon for the deaths of the criminals and offered me a position in his brigade.” Charlotte had her blue eyes watering. Marjorie hugs Charlotte with eyes full of tears.
“I don't know if this is right or wrong Charlotte, but I could never hate you! I love you! I don't want you to get out of my life! Your affection and the way you take care of me, apart from my brother and the little that I remember from my father… I guess I never had that in my life!” says Marjorie with tears in her eyes.

The redhead dries the princess's tears and then her own.
“I love you too Marjorie! You are the sister I never had. I will always be by your side, I promise.” says Charlotte with a smile on her face.
The girls finished breakfast and started to change the subject. Marjorie changed clothes and Charlotte made the bed.
After a while, someone was knocking on the door. It was King Bruce. Charlotte opens the door to the excited-looking king.
“Good morning, my dear maidens! I came here this beautiful morning because I would like you to meet a special friend of mine!” says the king, excited and a little impatient. Charlotte bows.
“Good morning, Bruce! Who would be that special friend you mention?” asks Marjorie curiously.
“I won’t spoil the surprise! I ask you to accompany me, please!” says the king with a smile on his face.
The king goes with the girls to the immense basement of the castle, descending several floors through an elevator with a system of chains, pulleys, and gears.
The place was very dark, but there was a big opening on the opposite side from where the three were standing. This opening was closed by a very large wooden gate. There were huge pillars that supported the castle and they were very large and also very thick.
Bruce utters an enchantment and the luminous stones lit up all over that place.
A golden glow was beginning to be emitted in that place and a gigantic golden dragon was sleeping on top of a countless pile of gold coins and other varied types of valuable items.
“Do not worry! This dragon is the protector of the kingdom! He lives here long before Southstar's beginnings.” Bruce says excitedly.
Bruce was approaching the dragon and the girls follow him with a little caution, but totally surprised. The dragon was snoring, but it sounded like a roar.
“DORO! Wake up you lazy lizard! I brought you visitors!” The king seemed irritated by the dragon's slumber. The golden dragon opens one eye and turns its head towards the visitors.
“Bruce!” the dragon's sleepy, deep and guttural voice echoed. “Unlike your species, we dragons don't sleep so little! Be a good boy and come back another time.”
The dragon closed his eyes again. Marjorie and Charlotte were caught up in the sight of that imposing and majestic, yet frightening creature.
The king approaches the dragon's head with difficulty climbing the pile of gold coins and ores and begins to whisper.
“Hey, Doro! Don't shame me in front of my fiancée and her chaperone I'm trying to make a good impression here. Give a hand here, please!” The dragon rolls his eyes and stands up.
“Excuse me for earlier... I rarely receive visits from people other than King Allende. I'm Drackonius Dorogon, celestial dragon, the ruler of dragon-kind, Son of Gaia, and protector of the southern star realm. Do not fear my presence, beautiful maidens, for I am also an ally of humans and all beings of light!” said the dragon in a more cordial tone as Bruce approached the visitors. Marjorie and Charlotte were amazed by the creature's exotic beauty.
“These are Marjorie Ygdrazz White, and her chaperone, Charlotte!” the king points to the maidens that bow to the dragon.
To their surprise, the dragon also bows its head. After raising his head, the dragon looked deeply into Marjorie's light gray eyes.
“Those eyes!” The dragon seemed amazed at the color of the princess's eyes.
“They are similar to the eyes of Marhg Naroth and Arkhatov! I have never met other humans who have had descended from them before! You probably descend from Magnus, although your heart is pure, your immense aura is extraordinarily similar to his!” says Dorogon still looking at Marjorie.
Everyone was surprised and confused by this statement.
“I never heard of these people, Drackonius Dorogon!” Marjorie says with an inquisitive face.
“They were very powerful beings that inhabited this world! They were servants of Chaos and enemies of the gods in the celestial war. Don't worry about your ancestors! My species was created by Gaia under the influence of Chaos and yet my heart never succumbed to the forces of this profane entity! The third emanation of the celestial aura that I could feel was yours. The first was from Elwin, the second was from a gifted human."
“Unfortunately, I can't control this energy properly,” says Marjorie, with a sad face. Charlotte seemed lost and tried to understand the situation as the dragons replied.
“Connecting with the energy flow that permeates the universe is not easy. You need to let go of fear and insecurity, otherwise, this force will easily get out of hand. Try to keep your mind clear when you do this. No mage that inhabited this world had power as strong as yours! That energy together with your immense power could be the salvation of this world.” the dragon looks up and then speaks again.
“I can feel that a very powerful ancient enemy is approaching our planet! I thought I was wrong, but I was careless. It will arrive here tomorrow night! This time it is much more powerful. When your celestial aura awoke me, Marjorie, its distance was much greater and its powers were less. Chaos must have manifested itself intensely in my brother!” says the dragon with anger.
“What do you mean? What the dragon want?” Bruce asks with some desperation and Charlotte was shocked by the news.
“Vengeance it is! Bruce, gather all the warriors of the kingdom, I have only one day to teach this youngling to use cosmic energy! I will intercept the enemy in space and try to weaken it. If I don't return, the Dragonslayer and this girl will be the only hope for this world!” says Dorogon imperatively.
“I'm taking Marjorie away from here! I need to protect her at all costs!” Charlotte was desperate.
“Your heart is pure and your intentions are noble, but if Leviathan reaches this world and is not defeated, you would only be delaying her death! The aura of this human girl has the same energy signature as Marhg Naroth and Arkhatov’s, but her potential is very superior to theirs, at the time of the first war! Because of that, Leviathan will come directly to you if I am defeated. Unfortunately, we don't have time to ask the other kingdoms for help. Let's go to a more isolated place. I'll carry you there!” Dorogon carefully picks up the princess with his paw with huge claws.
“Marjorie! Get stronger or I'll kick your white buttocks! Take care of her for me lord dragon!” said Charlotte smiling at the princess embarrassed by the comment that waved to the redhead.
“Do not worry! I'll bring her here by tomorrow! I sense a very combative aura coming from your spirit. What kind of weapons do you use, girl?”
“I use the bow.” Charlotte answers puzzled and intrigued by the question.
“This couldn't be more convenient! I have a celestial weapon stored in this pile of treasures! It is a bow that does not need to be fed with arrows, for it has a cosmic aura of its own and shoots arrows of cosmic energy. It was a gift from the second elven king, Alwylaenyr, after his father, Loriael Alael, sacrificed himself to seal the Chaos Paladin!” Dorogon takes with his other paw a silver bow that contained a rope that emanated a metallic aura and gives it to Charlotte, she takes the bow and feels an immense power manifesting on it.
“When pulling the bowstring, the arrows will manifest. The range is very long and can exceed the distance of the moons! These arrows reach speeds almost as fast as the speed of light!” says Dorogon, and then goes to the big gate and opens it with his other paw and then takes off.
King Bruce was very upset, as the meeting had not gone the way he planned. He quickly pulls himself together to prepare the kingdom for a possible attack.
Charlotte pulls the bowstring and a huge metallic aura manifests itself in the weapon and a luminous arrow appears, when the bowstring returns to its original position the arrow and the celestial aura disappeared.
The king and Charlotte take the elevator up. After a while, King Bruce headed towards the training yard of the Dragon Brigade and Charlotte accompanied him.
Leon was training with the soldiers. Holt observes the king's presence.
“ATTENTION! Stop training!” commands Holt approaching the king.
The warriors stop and look at the king with a bow. The king looked at everyone and began to speak.
“Brave warriors of our beloved kingdom… The protector of the realm, the golden dragon, Drackonius Dorogon, informed me that we will be the target of a powerful dragon that is coming from beyond the skies!” everyone began to murmur in amazement about the news given by the king.
“Its arrival is estimated for tomorrow night! Holt! Gather all brigadiers and people who can fight! I count once again with the help of the Dragon Brigade.” says Bruce looking seriously at Holt.
The Commander and everyone else bows to Bruce that headed for the castle after explaining the situation.
“You heard King Allende's orders! Prepare yourselves! I will cancel the missions and gather the brigade's warriors and patrolmen!” Holt looked at his subordinates intently.
In the distance, Charlotte was shooting an arrow into the sky. Everyone looked astonished to witness that scene. The celestial aura was very powerful and emanated intensely on the bow. The arrow could barely be seen and only a trail of celestial aura indicated the trajectory of the shot that was fading.
“That's a fantastic weapon. Where did you get it?” asks Leon looking at the bow.
“The celestial dragon gave me that bow. It seems like this weapon is alive!” says Charlotte with a look of bewilderment.
“Where's the princess?” asks Leon.
“The celestial dragon left with Marjorie! It will help her to control her powers. Trust her, Leon.” Charlotte was looking seriously at Leon.
“But, can we trust that dragon?"
“The dragon does not emanate any kind of negative energy as far as I can tell! He is a protector of this kingdom and an ally of humans. I trust him.” Charlotte smiles at Leon.
“I will make my preparations for the confrontation.”
Everyone was getting ready for the impending attack. Holt left on horseback with several brigadiers, taking charge of gathering all the warriors he could find on his way. Leon was going to the bedroom to warn Amadeus about this unsettling news.
“Wake up, Flick!” says Leon looking at his friend.
“What's going on, Henry?” says Flick sleepily.
“The kingdom will be attacked tomorrow night! We need to prepare. A golden dragon, Drackonius something, said that another dragon will come from the space.” says Leon sitting on his bed.
“What?” asks Amadeus in amazement and looks at Leon “Does the golden dragon really exist? I thought it was just a fairy tale!”
“He took charge of training the princess in the use of that mysterious energy!” says Leon looking at his sleepy friend.
“I see! I think a celestial being like the golden dragon could help her use that force more efficiently. I am having trouble in manifesting and stabilizing this kind of aura.” says Flick getting up and putting on his armor.
“Do you know anything about this enemy? Aside from being a dragon, there is no more information.” Leon looked thoughtful.
“All cataloged species of dragons need to breathe air, poisonous gases, or water to survive. If this dragon comes from outer space, I believe it is also a celestial being… Wait!”
Flick was thoughtful and with an empty stare.
“What's it?” Leon was running out of patience for dragon biology.
“I remember a book I read once! Tristan, an old friend of mine, and I loved that book. This book talked about celestial dragons. It was a translation of an old elven book, but that book was considered a book of fables for our school. If I remember correctly the book described three types of dragons that have never been seen before by human eyes.” Amadeus tried to remember what he had read.
“Probably one of them was that golden dragon!” Leon was staring at Flick that seemed uneasy.
“Yes! Now I remember it! The golden dragon to rule, the black dragon to punish, and the ancient dragon to teach. If I recall the fable, the ancient dragon was the first dragon to be created by Gaia and was in charge of guiding his species to knowledge. The golden dragon, as it is described in the book, is the being that rules the order of the draconian species. The black dragon was the executioner of dragons who strayed from order and wisdom.” says Amadeus looking at Leon.
“I would bet my spear that the enemy is this executioner! What do you think?” asks Leon.
“That you would keep your spear, as the fable tells that the ancient dragon has no power beyond its vast knowledge! The golden dragon being our ally, there is only one option left.” Flick replies now more focused.
“That book didn't help much!” says Leon angrily and asks “What dragon is the stronger?”
“I do not know. These two dragons are the most powerful of their kind, according to the “fable”! It will be like facing a god! I'm glad one is on our side.”
“Let's adjust our sleep schedules to be ready for battle! Whitecastle, Edenhill, or Mordred Kingdom’s help would never come in time. I hope the legendary spear is as effective as it is meant in its name.” says Leon standing up.
“I think all of this is related to the creatures that chase Hilbert. I think, somehow, Napoleon knows that Marjorie is in Southstar! Hilbert would do anything for his sister and that was never a secret in Whitecastle.” says Flick with mild irritation.
“That bastard will pay dearly!” Leon was furious. “If that's the case, I don't think it will be an isolated attack! I don’t think the dragon will be the only menace. Cultists and other creatures may appear tonight. To my very surprise, Southbridge was not targeted by these demons, but South Town is no more. We shall not let our guard down, Amadeus!”
“We will guide the Dragon Brigade on how to proceed against these creatures. From what you just said, I also think today we could be targeted in a surprise attack,” says Flick, thoughtfully.
Later that day, Flick and Leon meet with Holt who had gathered fifteen thousand warriors between the brigadiers and the soldiers of the Royal Guard. They explain how to proceed against the children of Chaos.
Holt hands over the command of half the warriors to Leon and appoints him temporary Commander until the end of the ominous situation. Everyone was getting ready for the attack. Holt had received information that his subordinates had clashed with cultists and that several of that were marching towards Southstar.
All indicated that a battle was imminent. The cultists confronted, although in great numbers, were defeated.
Away from the castle, in a mountainous place and without so many trees, Dorogon was helping Marjorie to control her power.
Gradually, the celestial aura was manifesting itself more controlled. Marjorie was emanating that aura successfully.
“You managed to stabilize the manifestation of the energy flow that permeates the universe! But that is not enough. You need to use this energy, for it is very versatile and can serve for defense, attack and even healing.”
Marjorie interrupted the emanation of the celestial aura.
“How am I going to do that, Lord Drackonius Dorogon?” Marjorie asks breathlessly.
“Doro or Dorogon will do, Marjorie! Do you know about the magic arts?” asks the dragon.
“Yes, I can use magic and enchantments. I read many books and practiced for a long time.” Marjorie replies now breathing normally.
“Great! Forget it all!” says the dragon getting a little closer.
“Why?” Marjorie looked lost.
“That energy would be wasted if you used it in the way that the elves described and the humans adapted. When you manifest this energy, your intention will shape its true purpose. Think about attacking, defending yourself, or any other type of action, and the aura will respond to your will. Let's start with some kind of offensive attack! I will fly and you are going to try to hit me. I cannot allow any other living creature to be hurt.” says the dragon spreading its wings.
“I will try, but I don't want to hurt you, Dorogon!” says Marjorie apprehensively.
“I'll be fine! You have to aim with the purpose to hurt me; otherwise, the attack will not come out. What happens if one day I also succumb to Chaos and you have to face me! If I don't defeat my brother the whole kingdom and even the world can be destroyed. Try to think of attacking as if you were going to throw a fireball spell.” says Dorogon taking off and circling in the air.
Marjorie concentrates the celestial aura again and joins her hands channeling energy in the form of a sphere. She looks at Dorogon and unleashes a huge energetic sphere at an impressive speed towards the golden dragon. Dorogon dodges.
“Again!” says the dragon flying around.
Marjorie repeated the attack that Dorogon dodged quickly and gracefully in the air.
“Try to focus to increase the size of this sphere using the entire aura you have left!” says Dorogon standing in the air just flapping his wings.
Marjorie concentrates and the aura manifests itself again as the energetic sphere increases in size.
The princess raises her hands in the air and the sphere continued to increase, while the aura surrounding her body began to decrease in size. The sphere was already a half-mile in diameter. Dorogon looked astonished at that energy. Marjorie fires that huge sphere of energy with even greater speed than other attacks. Dorogon is unable to deviate.
The dragon was emanating its golden aura and with a huge blast of golden fire, it was trying to stop the huge energetic sphere coming towards it. The celestial fire was gradually being overcome by the princess's attack and Dorogon was being dragged upwards.
Marjorie was exhausted, but she manages to manifest the celestial aura again and causes her attack to disappear. Dorogon goes down to the tired princess.
“That was close!” says the dragon, giving a laugh that was more like a roar. “Did you understand the basics of the attack, Marjorie?”
“Yes! It is easier than I imagined.” says the princess exhausted.
“When you use all the cosmic power you have gathered, you may not be able to use it again for some time. Get some rest, as we will have a long workout ahead of us. You're doing great!” says the dragon with an expression of contentment that turns into concern. “What is it, little girl?”
“You know, I'm very hungry, Dorogon!” says Marjorie sheepishly.
“Oh, humans sure have very small stomachs, don't they? Wait a moment and I will catch some fish from the lake and bring it here for you,” says Dorogon, and then takes off.
After a while, the dragon spits out a huge and varied amount of fish from its mouth. Marjorie looked at that very disgusting scene.
The dragon looked at Marjorie with little understanding, but after a moment he realized. He devours the fish that were on the ground and flies again.
After some time the dragon brings a small amount of fish on his huge paw and places it close to Marjorie.
“Excuse me for earlier, little girl! Other than Bruce, I don't have many human friends. As I don't know how to make pudding, I think this will do!” says the dragon lying down next to the princess.
“Don't you worry, Dorogon, these fish will do for sure!” says Marjorie making an incantation of the fire to roast the fish. There were no branches nearby.
Dorogon skewers the fish at the tip of its huge claws and leaves it near the fire. Marjorie looked in wonder at that being that was in front of her.
The Dragon could see that the princess wanted to touch its scales. Marjorie approaches and touches the dragon's skin.
“Your scales look like golden leaves!” says Marjorie, running her hand near Dorogon's nose.
“Gaia made me that way, Marjorie! I just don't know why humans value this metal so much. When I was created it was just a common type of metal. Many tragedies were committed by the possession of this material.”
Dorogon's eyes emanate a golden aura and he turns an ordinary stone into a pure gold stone. Marjorie was impressed with this power.
“I do not understand either. But that’s because I never needed any, I guess,” says Marjorie, with a sad face and asks. “How did you know that I like pudding? Can you read the minds of humans, Dorogon?”
“I like to talk and I would rather not have this power, but I can read the minds of all the living creatures that inhabit this world. It was Bruce who told me about this strange dessert and he even made me try it,” says Dorogon, while looking at the princess's astonished face.
“I never imagined I could be the subject for a conversation between a king and celestial being,” says Marjorie, sitting next to the dragon.
“We had many conversations. Bruce thinks he has no friends, he rarely trusts his peers. The other two men try hard to protect and care for him, but he feels alone in this world. Since he was a little boy and discovered this place, he had been crying to stay by my side and when I realized, he was sleeping beside me almost every day.” says Dorogon, resting with his eyes closed.
“What happened to his parents?” asks Marjorie.
“Bruce's mother begat him without a husband, when his grandfather, King Logan, found out about it, he waited for the boy to be born and murdered his own daughter to hide that fact, and then remarried a noblewoman. He claimed that Bruce was his own son. Bruce is not acknowledged about this terrible faith. I could not avoid this tragedy, as I was far from the kingdom at that tragic time. I found it out after I returned to the kingdom when I was able to read the old king's mind. Bruce's grandfather could not bear the burden of his deeds and took his own life and that of his new wife, for he could not allow the hoax to be exposed. Bruce was the youngest king this world has ever had, I suppose. I took charge of protecting him from the few usurpers of the throne, along with Holt and Hanemann.” says the dragon calmly, but with a tone of slight sadness.
Marjorie was shocked by the story the dragon had told.
“This is very sad. I think I understand how he feels. I still miss my father. I wish I could miss him more… I was very young when he died… I think that, in this world full of sadness, loneliness can take away peace from hearts in a relentless way.” says Marjorie with tears in her eyes.
“If the skies which silently contemplate the tragedies involving the afflicted hearts could cry for the sadness and the miseries of those who have inhabited this world… it would never stop raining. I envy you, humans, because your brief lives do not allow your hearts to accumulate so much sadness and pain. I remember the face of young Logan as if it was yesterday, as I recall the faces of his forefathers. Although I wish I could forget some of those men, I wish to never let go of the innocence of their jolly child faces.” says Dorogon softly and with a tone of sadness in his low-pitched voice.
Marjorie hugs Dorogon's nose. Golden tears streamed from the dragon’s eyes and as they reached the ground they solidified in the shape of ores of pure gold. Marjorie realized that among all that gold, Doro was laying, when they first met, there were many tears of the dragon.
They stayed there for a while, and after Marjorie ate, they continued with the training. The afternoon was already beginning to make way for the night.

Being an adventurer sucked. And so Harper Emerson decided he needed a do-over. Fleeing from his previous life (and the debts that came along with it), Harper foucuses on setting up shop as a chef at an eatery in the "quaint" town of Mystic Falls. It's a total sty, but he's willing to call it home. However, his idealized dream of becoming a restaurateur is plauged by so many issues it'll be amazing if he ever gets the damn place opened. Especially when his creditor comes collecting. This is a slice-of-life, light crafting LitRPG that focuses on building and establishing the eatery, designing recipes, and cooking meals... as well as Harper's growth as a person. A warning: Harper sometimes has Big Brain ideas, and while he's quick to call himself an idiot, they are far from stupid. Just keep reading. Participant in the Royal Road Wriathon challenge.

Clay is one of the world's top players of 4X games, a genre where the goal is to eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate. He's also one of the only players in the world to so stubbornly stick to the one city strategy, a favorite tactic of his that involves only ever using a single city or planet depending on the game's setting. All that matters to him is winning with his favorite strategy, but earning the respect of his fellow players for taking a sub-optimal strategy to its highest level has always been a nice bonus. And now it is because of his skill and entertaining determination that he has been chosen to represent a higher realm in a strategy game where the fate of Earth and dozens of other worlds are at stake. To the victor goes the spoils, and the spoils include entire worlds and billions of lives. That's how he ends up representing the ascended realm of Hell in a grand "game" between an entire pantheon of godly beings and other higher powers. But while it may just be a game to those overseeing it, it is a genuine war for survival to those participating in it where billions of real lives will go to the victor of whoever wins, and many will die before the game is over. Quick Author's Notes: System inspired by Civilization, Endless Legend, Stellaris, and Crusader Kings 2. Combat mechanics inspired by the Total War series. Slow-paced with many long-term plans. Protagonist has a personality heavily inspired by Ron Swanson. Know who that is and love him? You should like Clay. Know who Ron Swanson is and hate him? You'll probably hate Clay. Planning on writing every single day (turn). Days with important things happening will have the system/game mechanics be the priority of the chapter. Days where there isn't really anything important happening will be more slice-of-life and focused on character interactions. Designed a dice-based randomized map generator to create the world as the story goes on, so I don't even know myself exactly what's going to happen as a lot is dependent on world generation. Tech tree with hundreds of technologies already designed. There is a "harem," but it's not the main focus, the girls won't be cardboard cutouts, and I'm not going to completely forget about any previous women in the relationship whenever a new one comes along. One last thing. The "game" starts off with primitive technology level. The current plan is for the "endgame" tech level to be equivilent to WW2-era technology. After that and war just gets boring until you end up in space. Cover is temporary and made from royalty-free stock images while waiting for the real cover's commission to finish.
