《Saga of the Celestial Warriors - The Journey》EXPLORING THE FOREST OF SHADOWS PART I

Hilbert, Gödel, and Fenriz were in the vicinity of the dense and extensive dark forest that imposed itself before them with their gigantic trees. Two people were close to the transport scroll. There was a huge figure wearing Bear Brigade armor with a big two-handed axe resting on its shoulder.
The other person wearing the armor of the Eagle Brigade was sitting on a trunk, propping his head on his shield and dozing.
“Greetings! Your Majesty!” a deep but feminine voice echoed from that closed bear-head-shaped helmet.
“Wake up Eckhart! Don't be disrespectful towards the prince! We are in front of royalty and high hierarchy brigadiers of our beloved homeland.”
The man looks at the prince with a sleepy face and gets up, bowing, but dropping his bow awkwardly to the side.
“Excuse me Hilbert, but you arrived early and I didn't have time to sleep properly.” The young man had deep dark circles surrounding his eyes.
“Greetings! Thank you both for waiting for our arrival!” Hilbert nods slightly.
“Hey, Hilbert!” Gödel looks at the prince with an inquisitive face. “How did they get here so quickly?”
“I sent another transport scroll and a message through Morgan and also asked it to find two brigadiers that were nearby.”
Hilbert looks at his giant eagle with golden feathers. She was perched on a branch in a tree just behind the two warriors. She is the size of an adult man and her eyes were orange. It had a great wingspan.
“Luckily for me, she found Matilda and Timo. Their skills will be of great help in the forest.”
Gödel looks closely at the huge figure sitting with its legs crossed and begins to realize that the armor did not reveal any female part, although the part of the breastplate of the armor, which was brown in color, was more prominent.
“Forgive me for my lack of proper manners!” Matilda gets up and bows to the prince and then takes off her helmet revealing the long dark blond hair.
She had strong rounded features on his red cheeks, but they were very harmonious features. Her eyes were emerald green and she was six and a half foot tall.
“My name is Matilda Troderitch, member of the Bear Brigade and the one next to me is Timo Eckhart of the Eagle Brigade.”
Gödel was shocked that this tall stocky person was a beautiful woman, and even more because she had the surname of the Bear Brigade Commander and was able to speak like a polite person.
“Matilda, please don't be so formal. Express your will, as the journey will be long and these formalities would only tire us during our long expedition,” said Hilbert, as the two nods.
“Hey, you're related to Commander Bravius, aren't you?” Gödel cannot hide his face of astonishment and admiration for the stature and the beautiful face of the warrior.
“He and Brando are my older brothers, Vice Commander!” Matilda smiles at Gödel with pride.
“But how can you be a normal person? Did your brothers fall out of the crib by any chance?” asks Gödel naively.
Hilbert slaps Gödel on the head while Matilda tries not concealing her angriness towards the comments. Timo tried to contain his laughter for fear of Matilda's reaction.
“Shut up, Gödel!” Says Hilbert looking irritably at his friend, and then looking back at the girl.
“Forgive that poor fool, Matilda! It was created by rats in the swamps. When they found him trapped, I decided to try to train him, but it is still difficult to get him to have good manners.”

“Vice Commander,” Matilda was trying to restrain herself as much as possible so as not to chop Gödel's head off with her huge axe. “Don't be so critical of my brothers, the only education they had was the battlefield since they were little boys.”
“Excuse me, Matilda!” Gödel sheepishly lowers his head in shame.
“It is all right, Vice Commander, for this, is not the first time that someone has reacted that way towards my identity. I should be used to that by now.” Matilda was much calmer.
“Hilbert! Watch out!” Eckhart was shaking with fear as he looked at Fenriz and completed. “There's a giant wolf behind you!” the young man, who had an irrational fear of wolves, draws his bow and takes an arrow out of his quiver aiming at Fenriz.
“Calm down, Timo!” says Hilbert stroking Fenriz's head as it growled towards the frightened young man. “This big dog here is our ally. And you calm down too, buddy.”
“Hey, you wretch! Point that bow at my friend once more and I'll stick those arrows where the sun doesn’t shine!” Gödel glares furiously at the tremolo Timo that lowered his bow.
“Excuse me, Vice Commander, for I didn't know it was our ally.” Timo lowers his head in embarrassment.
“Don’t worry! I forgive you if Fenriz forgives you.” Gödel, still a little irritated, spoke those words while looking at the wolf that wagged its tail. “Call me Gödel! By the gods!”
“He's terrified of wolves, Gödel!” Hilbert tells Gödel the fact that seems inconceivable for the ranger.
“But that won't be a problem, will it, Timo?” Hilbert looks towards his friend.
“It won't be a problem, Hilbert! I promise!” Timo decides to pretend with all his might that Fenriz was not there, it was the only way to go ahead with that team and not to disappoint his Commander and friend.
Hilbert begins to explain about the expedition to his allies, and the search for the elves' unknown whereabouts.
Hilbert gives a brief summary of what had happened before his arrival. Gödel opens a large map on the ground and indicates the safest routes and those that had the most threats. The ranger starts talking eagerly.
“We will have to pass through this territory with caution, Fenriz, and I will go ahead. There are records of Goblins, Trolls, giant spiders, lizardfolk and Basilisks, inhabiting this forest. There was even a record of an encounter with a green dragon, luckily for us; this is the weakest and least aggressive species. These are the creatures that can give us trouble. The fauna and flora are also very dangerous! Do not touch any unknown plant. This forest is home to giant bears and huge snakes. They do not attack unless they are provoked, most of the time. There are some wild giant wolves, but most of them are companions of my brigade. Just because you walk with Fenriz and me, our scent will make them become your allies. Wild boars are very aggressive and hares have enormous speed with prey that is able to pierce rocks. Their meat is not good for humans who are not resistant to eat poisonous animals, like the delicate prince here next to me. We will be able to reach a peaceful lake in two days of travel. There it is calm and has a shelter for my brigade that is well camouflaged. That lake is close to a small waterfall. The lake does not contain dangerous fish species; we can feed on them to save our rations. A few miles ahead from the lake, there are no more records on our maps. Possibly the elves live beyond what our map indicates. After that, I think it will be more a matter of luck to find them. If we meet one elf on the way, Fenriz can take us to their address using his potent nose.” Gödel pointed on the map in all directions while describing the best trajectory.

“These elves live among beasts and monsters. Don't you think they would have countermeasures on this type of tracking?” Matilda responds staring at Fenriz.
“Good observation, Matilda!” says Hilbert confidently. “I have a little trick in my hands. When I asked Dean Duke to make the Scrolls, I also requested a potion that identifies elven magic.”
Hilbert remembers the potion that Jørgen Ir had used that night. “There are certainly traces of their magic in this forest.”
“Can we trust the old man, Hilbert?” Gödel asks.
“Not at all, my dear!” Hilbert replies. “But we can trust his silence that cost me a hundred thousand gold coins in "donations", apart from what I spent on these scrolls and on that potion!”
Matilda and Timo look at each other in amazement and Gödel laughs, then speaking in a mocking tone:
“If you need money I can fix it for you, Hilbert! If you're my slave for a week, I'll buy you a mug of mead at old Sam's inn in the alleys.” and slap Hilbert on the back.
“It is quite possible that I need this after the Queen finds out about my balance in the royal bank,” Hilbert replies, sighing and crestfallen.
“Let's leave it alone and start our preparations for the expedition!” the prince fixes his stance and speaks:
“Fenriz goes ahead as he can warn us of some danger and without being noticed since giant wolves are common in this forest. Gödel goes a little behind, he will not be far from Fenriz and if something alerts him, we can divert the route. Matilda, Timo, and I will be right behind Gödel, and Morgan will sneak under and above the treetops, its vision is far-reaching. She will be able to alert us about surprise attacks in the rear and also on the flanks. I can communicate telepathically with her which will give us immediate anticipation of any type of ambush.” Hilbert pauses to breathe and then completes it.
“Any questions?” asks Hilbert, but everyone claims that everything was clear.
“What will we do when night falls?” Gödel asks.
“Good point!” Hilbert looks at his two new companions.
“As I mentioned before, I am the target of very powerful creatures. Somehow they can feel my presence. They dread of daylight, but as this forest is very dense and it seems that even at midday it seems dusk, we will not be able to let our guard down. We can be targeted at any time, but the night is when we need to be more attentive. If we encounter this type of creature I will have to use enchantments on our weapons, but I would like to not do that. Morgan can lend its aura to me or you, if necessary. Be aware of the strange creatures that may appear, they are not common enemies.”
“Why so much concern? We will be all right!” Gödel says and then complements in his thoughts.
'Of course, we are going to be pretty screwed in this place. I hope that at least Hilbert and Fenriz get out of this alive. There’s something different in the air, like the scent of death.'
Hilbert nods to his friend and everyone enters the forest in the formation in which they had agreed.
As they were exploring the territory, a few hours have passed. They gazed at the tall trees and the colorful flowers going through slopes of grass and earth.
The trees were very distant from each other, yet it was very dark and dense, for most of them they were very thick and large.
Big rocks with black, red, and green musk were found in different shapes.
“This place really deserves its name,” Eckhart says looking at the giant dark trees.
“But it is a very beautiful place, although it is very dangerous,” Matilda replies and looks at Hilbert beside her. “Your Majesty estimates that the Vice Commander's map has described how much of the total area?”
“Morgan has flown over this entire territory before, and I could see through its eyes the entire forest and comparing with the map of Gödel I can estimate, by the scale used in it, that it describes 65 to 70 percent of the entire territory. The main issue is that this forest ends up in a region of rocks that form big walls.”
“If we reach the end of the forest and we are cornered, we will only have the possibility of escaping sideways. Isn’t it?” says Eckhart scared and looking sideways.
“Only the south side, Timo. The other side, to the north, is close to a precipice that leads to the ocean. Down there will only be sharp rocks waiting to impale us.” says Hilbert.
“If that's the case, we just need to defeat all the enemies that stand our way!” Matilda replies determinedly.
“That will depend on the type of threat that we can find Matilda! Do not rule out the possibility of a retreat!” Hilbert looked concerned.
The small troop follows into the forest for a few more hours and finds no enemies, but they were walking cautiously.
The night was beginning to fall and visibility was much worse due to the darkness. The places they passed were calm and there was no sign of threats.
The walk continued into the dark forest through the night. Everyone was attentive and avoided speaking so that they would not denounce their position.
Hilbert, Matilda, and Timo watched Fenriz and Gödel who returned with a terrified countenance. The brigadier speaks in a morbid tone:
“Just ahead, there is a ravine that leads to a large area in a clearing. There is a pile of hundreds of dismembered corpses, those of cultists and other creatures of the forest. There are pieces of the bodies scattered all over that place. It looks like they were killed recently, but oddly there is a smell of putrefaction. The expression on the ripped heads is sinister.”
Gödel tries to recover from the infernal vision. Hilbert had been impressed that his fearless friend had been shocked.
“Are there any unknown creatures down there, Gödel?” Eckhart asks scared.
“There is only a naked old man sitting with his leg crossed in the center of that pile. He was meditating with his eyes closed,” replies Gödel, who was already more focused at that moment.
“Let me see through Morgan's eyes,” says Hilbert, as his gray eyes turn to orange and he could see what the eagle saw.
It was exactly as his friend had described it. At that moment, the naked old man looks at the eagle and Hilbert sees the red eyes staring back at Morgan.
“Yes, it is exactly as Gödel said and that old man is no ordinary person, his eyes emit the same reddish light common to the other creatures I mentioned.”
“If he defeated them all alone, then he must be very strong!” Matilda speaks with an air of amazement in her voice. “What should we do Hilbert?”
“He already knows we're here, Matilda! These things can detect me and I still don't know how! I need to think of a plan.” says Hilbert rubbing his eyes.
“Wouldn't it be better to go around, Hilbert?” Timo speaks with an air of concern in his voice.
“We would run the risk of encountering another creature and this way we might not find an escape route. We have no alternative but to face that creature. I think I have a plan.”
Hilbert clenches his fists with determination. “Timo! You will be hiding on top of a tree. Morgan will supply us with her aura so we can save our own aura power. When Morgan's aura wears out, I ask you to use yours. Save your aura for your elemental supreme light attack, Timo.” Eckhart nods.
“Gödel, I need you and Fenriz to use fast sneak attacks and then hide your presences after each attack. We need to confuse that thing. Always come in opposite directions and not at the same time, preferably at points where Matilda and I are not attacking.” Gödel looks at Fenriz and also nods approvingly.
“Matilda and I will go there to test the type of combat of that thing. I need us to be on opposite sides, if I am in front of him you go back and vice versa. This strategy is called a circle of thorns. We can attack from all directions. When I raise my sword it will be your turn to start acting, but first, wait for my signal. I go ahead and you Matilda wait for the creature to start attacking and then proceed to attack its back. Always stay half a circle from me. Prepare yourselves!” Everyone wields their weapons and takes their positions with determination in their eyes.
Hilbert approaches the place where the bodies were. The place was a clearing in the forest and there was a kind of depression in the ground that extended for about one hundred and eighty feet in radius, although it was not a uniform terrain.
The place where Hilbert was standing was about ten feet above the ground with an inclined ravine. Hilbert contemplates that macabre scene and takes the lowest level of the ground approaching that strange creature.
Hilbert stops when he was close to the old man, who was staring at the prince with wide eyes that emanated that sinister red aura.
“Are you the one who killed all these beings? You must be very strong for an old man if that’s your true self!” Hilbert remained cool towards his opponent. The wrinkled old man had a bluish, very dark skin. He responds in a tired, husky voice.
“They're not dead! Open your eyes to the truth child, and observe that they are all still alive agonizing on the floor!” the old man closes his eyes again. Hilbert looks around and realizes that the torn bodies moved very little.
“What did you do with these poor wretches?” Hilbert was furious with that kind of cowardice.
“It is not obvious?” answers the old stranger calmly. “Their spirits still inhabit their bodies! All that aura and body mass preserved in this realm. Wouldn't it be a waste if they were in possession of selfish Death? I drove the spirit of Death away from this place.” The being still kept its eyes closed.
“Why don't you let them die in peace, you bastard? It's me you want, isn't it?” Hilbert speaks furiously, although he knew he couldn't lose control.
“I have no wishes. I want nothing. I'm just an instrument of a greater will, for mine no longer exists. All I want is to fulfill my mission without futile confrontations. I hate violence. Look at the expression of joy on the faces of your fellow men and the other creatures. Look at how they rejoice that they can also be an instrument of Arkhatov's will.” the old man spoke calmly while opening his eyes again.
“I don't care about your crazy speech, you demon! If I kill you, that black magic will disappear anyway!” Hilbert points the sword at the being that closes his eyes still in the lotus position.
“You cannot kill me, child, because I am neither alive nor dead! I only exist in this world full of sentimentality, lies, famine, death, and wars. All of this is the result of worldly desire, don't you think?”
Hilbert observes that the creature did not attack; even so, he needed to follow his own plan. The prince companions just watched the strange situation going on below, but they also needed to stick to Hilbert's plan.
“Why don't we resolve our conflict peacefully?” The old man opens his eyes again.
“You come with me and I will spare the life of your friends and deliver the soul of these creatures to Death. Wouldn't you sacrifice yourself for the sake of others? Do not feed selfishness. It is the biggest reason for suffering in this world.”
Hilbert lowers his sword and is thoughtful. Gödel starts gritting his teeth thinking about the possibility of losing his friend. Everything is silent for a few seconds. Hilbert puts his hand on his head and starts to laugh.
“Selfishness?” Hilbert responds staring at the old man and holding his laughter.
“Selfishness would be abandoning the people who love me. The people who need me! Selfishness would be to create pain in the hearts of those who love and cherish me! What you say about my world is half true. If there is desire, there is also abdication. If there is selfishness, there is also altruism. If there are lies that serve to destroy people, there are also lies that serve to warm the hearts of those who suffer, even if that is morally wrong. There are wars, but all the soldiers marching into battle wanted to be at home in peace with their loved ones! All my brothers and sisters in arms knew of the risk their lives were taking and yet they are and have always been by my side.” Hilbert spoke those words that filled the hearts of his companions with hope and determination.
“You are a great hypocrite who talks about my world, but you don't even live in it, do you? You don't know what it's like to be human and have to fight, or work, or even to beg to make a living! You say you hate violence and stands here with no reaction to these dismembered suffering bodies that might have died because of your distorted intentions.” as Hilbert continues to talk the old man slowly gets up with wide eyes and says:
“Unfortunately, child, we will have to resolve this impasse in another way.”
The being speaks these words as a purple aura takes over the creature. His mouth had stretched down to his belly and with a sigh, he sucked the aura from all the mutilated creatures on the floor.
The bodies begin to levitate and revolve around the old man due to a strong wind while each mutilated part merged with his body. With each melted part, its size increased and its appearance rejuvenated. At the end of that macabre ritual, the creature was already twenty-five feet tall and had a very muscular body.
All the metal of the weapons and armor fused into a giant sword that levitated towards the giant, which it grabs midair. The sword and the creature's eyes were enveloped in an aura which was now black.
Hilbert raises his sword high and everyone prepares to execute the plan. Matilda positioned herself behind the giant.
The giant makes a fast vertical attack with his huge sword against Hilbert who rolls to the side, barely avoiding it. Matilda, using Morgan's aura, attacks the creature's leg, severing the limb at the knee, causing the creature to fall sitting down.
Gödel takes the opportunity to attack. With a huge jump, he hits the shoulder of the being by sticking the bristles of his swords and pushing his own body down and tearing the entire arm of it. This attack causes the creature's sword to fall from its giant hand.
Fenriz jumps towards the neck of the falling giant and begins to tear the flesh from its neck deeply, tearing several pieces off and then quickly moves away. Hilbert runs quickly towards the creature and fires a quick series of a hundred thrusts in a few seconds that pierce the giant's chest.
The creature falls on the ground that trembles as if it was like an earthquake. The giant turns and tries to raise his other hand off the ground, which is hit by a rain of arrows that emanated an aura of light. The arrows went so deep that they nailed the creature's hand to the ground.
Matilda used her axe to split the giant's head in two. The sequence of attacks by the warriors was so coordinated that the being could hardly react. All that was left of the giant were scraps, but the creature still exuded a black aura, even though it was immobile.
Everyone stops attacking to rest of their intense combined attack. The creature did not bleed.
“Get back to formation!” commands Hilbert who watched the shredded giant emanate a black aura.
The being, although shredded, begins to compose itself while its size was halved. It was totally whole and its body appeared to have more muscles.
Everyone looks astonished at that scene. The being now stands twelve and a half feet tall. Hilbert had noticed that the creature's enormous aura had halved. The creature picks up his sword from the ground and looks at Hilbert with his red eyes speaking in a more youthful but very low voice.
“Some universes guarantee that things do not disappear, just transform! Like matter and energy! In order to win some things we sometimes have to sacrifice other things. My body density is now fifty percent higher. This will increase my strength by fifty percent, although I may lose some reach!”
“You bastard! You are here to fight or teach us Math!” Hilbert speaks angrily while putting himself in a combat position.
“This giant sword will not be so useful to me. I will make some of its matter transform into those protective garments that you wear.” the sword begins to decrease in size while part of the metal was molded to the body of the being in the shape of Hilbert's armor, but it was not golden, it only had the color of steel. The sinister being speaks again. “Now I think I can defend myself better.” the prince looked angrily at the armor.
Hilbert sets out to attack with great speed, jumping and making several quick attacks against the creature, which blocks some with its sword while others strike the breastplate, tearing the steel apart.
Matilda attacks with her axe with a powerful strike deeply into the flesh of the creature's back and then kicking its back so that the axe could disengage from flesh and steel.
Gödel came from the side with great speed, but the creature looks in his direction and strikes a blow with his sword, but he manages to dodge and take advantage of the evasive movement to rapidly spin with his swords, hitting the creature's leg several times, tearing the metal from the armor apart.
Fenriz immediately came like a comet hitting a head butt in the region of the creature's ribs, which makes it one step to the side. The being quickly unleashes an attack with the sword towards Fenriz, which deviates and withdraws at the exact moment when another rain of arrows pierces the metal of the armor of the arm that attacked the wolf. The arrows had stuck on the creatures’ gauntlet.
The being stops for a moment and imitates Hilbert's combat stance by delivering an insanely quick attack against the prince that blocks it with his shield.
The clash of metals made a noise so loud it echoed throughout the entire forest. The creature kicks back, hitting Matilda who did not expect the attack. She receives the impact while still standing and the blow caused the warrior to be thrown away.
The creature looks in the direction of Gödel approaching and, still with the sword leaning on Hilbert's shield, turns its fist making a horizontal attack against the ranger that came at high speed that bends to dodge. This maneuver makes Gödel lose the opportunity to attack, rolling to the side, and distances himself from the being.
The creature throws a punch in the air with its other arm that hits Fenriz's body and causes the wolf to be thrown away and takes two steps to the side causing the other rain of arrows to hit the ground. The creature had learned the attack pattern and Hilbert had realized this fact.
“STOP THE FORMATION AND ATTACK FREELY!” Hilbert tries to calm down after the scream and had to think of a new plan.
“What means to be free in a world full of rules imposed by beings blind to reality!” the creature returns to position itself before Hilbert, making several attacks with the absurd speed that the prince deflected or blocked with his shield. Gödel jumps over the creature, driving his swords deep into the creature's shoulder. The giant headbutts Gödel, knocking him out and sending the warrior far away. Fenriz running as fast as he could dodged a strong punch that hit the ground and opening a crater. While that arm was still on the floor Matilda cut it off with her axe.
The warriors' weapon auras disappear. Morgan was without aura to give and Timo had only one arrow. The being takes Gödel's swords from his shoulder and hurls them very far.
The severed arm on the ground grabs Fenriz as he leaps to attack. The wolf was immobilized. Matilda starts attacking the creature's arm in an attempt to free the wolf, but is met with a kick that hits her in the back and sends her away, the impact breaks the top of her sturdy armor.
Hilbert, terrified by the situation he was witnessing, was beginning to worry about the course of the battle and his companions’ status. He knew he could not despair and began to analyze the few possibilities that remained.
The severed arm, emanating a black aura, levitates to the being and fixes itself in the region of the cut. The creature throws Fenriz away; the wolf hits a tree and is knocked out.
Timo watched that disastrous situation with great fear. He tried to calm down and appealed to his last resort. He would utter the words of his supreme enchantment, concentrating his entire aura.
“Gaia, eternal mother of all life, I beg you to lend me your light and the fiber of your beautiful and luminous garments.”
Timo points the bow at the creature's head and fires a luminous arrow that contained a string of light attached to its back tip. Timo held that string of light fused to the arrow, which glowed as if made of light.
The arrow had hit the creature's head. The creature grabs the rope, but its hand burns. Hilbert strikes a blow to the leg of the kneeling creature. When the creature was about to launch an attack on Hilbert, Timo pulls the string of light by moving the creature's head and stopping its attack.
Hilbert jumps and mends several swords blows on the breastplate of the armor that crumbles to pieces that fall to the ground, uncovering the chest of the macabre being. When the creature was going to pull the rope again Hilbert took the opportunity to cut off its hand. With the other hand, the being, even with its burning hand, pulls on the string of light that causes Timo to be thrown away. Eckhart tries to hold on, but falls to the ground hitting several branches, which luckily cushioned his fall.
Timo was very hurt, with all the pain he felt, he still focused his aura on the ultimate enchantment. The creature could not get the arrow of light out of its head. Hilbert aims at the arm that held the arrow of light and cuts it off. While the prince was landing, the creature attacks with his other severed arm sending the prince to the ground with great force that opens another crater in the ground due to the devastating impact of the blow. Hilbert’s armor was mostly in pieces as he was almost unconscious.
Matilda utters the words of a supreme spell:
“Atmos, lord of the forge and strength of the world core, grant me your strength.”
Matilda is covered with a brown aura as her muscles expanded.
The creature gets up and raises its leg to crush the prince with its huge foot, at that moment it is pulled by the string of light and falls back with a loud bang. It was Matilda holding the string of light. Her armor was broken at the helmet and chest, revealing her enormous breasts.
Matilda grabbed the luminous rope and started to rotate the body of the creature that ascended into the air. After the creature was in the air, Matilda desperately pulled the rope down causing the creature to hit the ground very hard, the ground was shaking due to the impact. She continued to do this tiring maneuver without interruption. Gödel regains consciousness and goes towards Hilbert, carrying his friend away from the range of those brutal attacks.
“Hilbert! Are you okay?” asks Gödel, with bleeding in his forehead, and analyzing his friend's condition. Hilbert started to recover and watches Matilda's attacks. Looking at his friend the prince says:
“It needs to exhaust the aura that it absorbed from the mutilated beings, Gödel. Otherwise, the supreme attacks will not destroy that thing. It has recovered from elemental light attacks due to the auras he had previously absorbed! That aura is somehow different…” Hilbert speaks with difficulty, but staring worried at his friend's wounds.
“And how are we going to exhaust this aura that this thing has absorbed?” Gödel asks.
“We will not,” says Hilbert, while Gödel looks astonished as the prince continues to speak.
“He will do that for us. This creature manages to shape its body to a stronger version when it is being defeated, but it consumes the aura it absorbed. I realized that he used a lot of that aura in his last transformation. I think he just has the power to do that one more time.” Hilbert looked in the direction of Eckhart, who was slowly passing out.
“But this will make him stronger, right?” Gödel looked confused.
“Matilda and Timo will not last long, Gödel. We need him to morph one last time.” Gödel looks closely at the creature and says to Hilbert:
“I'll make that bastard change to its final form. Don't waste the opportunity I am giving, for you know that the trick I will use has a very limited time.” Gödel looks confidently at his friend and sets out towards Fenriz.
Matilda was exhausted, lying on the floor, covering her huge breasts and breathing with difficulty. Timo had passed out and the light enchantment was gone. The creature was motionless with its body all crushed on the ground by the brutal impacts it had suffered.
Gödel gives a red potion Fenriz that was panting. The wolf licks that liquid and his wounds slowly heal as his strength recovers. Gödel looks at his friend and says:
“Let's use the Chimera! Fenriz, focus your aura!” suddenly an intense greenish aura starts to take over Gödel and a strong bluish aura starts to take over Fenriz. Gödel utters the magic words to invoke his supreme spell:
“Atmos, guardian of the earth and protector of men! Famthos, protector of wolves, and sea abominations! We beg you to merge our bodies, minds, and spirit. We invoke the Chimera!"
Hilbert took distance from the huge fallen body, concentrating his entire aura. The creature begins to move and to rise slowly, emanating a dark aura from its eyes.
The cut off parts began to join the body of the cursed being. Standing again, he restores his armor and picks up his sword from the ground. While doing this the huge Werewolf had appeared in front of him. It was snarling and very big, with gigantic claws and huge fangs. The creature faces that monstrosity and positions itself to attack.
The Werewolf was the fusion of Gödel and Fenriz's body and all his abilities and strengths were multiplied when they used that supreme spell.
The Werewolf deflects the attack made by the accursed being and begins to attack with its enormous claws the enemy. His attacks were very fast and he was beginning to dismember the whole damned opponent's body. It tore the metal off the armor like paper. When the creature tried to throw a punch, the Werewolf snapped the giant arm and shred it quickly.
Gradually, the enemy was being cut up and dismembered without being able to defend against the attacks of the huge beast. The enemy was in pieces, all scattered on the floor and only his head was whole. While the Werewolf ragingly growling watched its enemy the head starts to speak.
“Now I recognize my ignorance. Ignorance is responsible for worldly errors, for errors of abominations like you, and even the gods’ mistakes, with all their arrogance. I should have faced you with all the real power I have and not being dependent on this ancient magic ritual. I hope you depart in peace to the realms of the dead.”
The black aura surrounds each piece of the shredded enemy, which was beginning to cluster near the speaking head. He now shapes himself to the size of a ten-foot man, but his muscles were even bulkier. The metal also clustered on his body to form a wolf-shaped clawed armor.
The enemy now exuded a purple aura, similar to that of other creatures. The clash starts again. Gödel and Fenriz were attacking very fast, and the opponent just dodged. When the enemy leaps back, it waits for the werewolf to approach and mimics the attacks of it. The attacks of that accursed being began to cut the flesh of the werewolf that tried to defend itself with its enormous arms.
After a while the werewolf hits a powerful attack that sends the opponent away, cracking a large part of its armor. The enemy was approaching to attack again when he realized that the beast before it was mutating. The time of the effect of the supreme spell was over.
Gödel and Fenriz were separated now, both bruised and gasping with blood spurting from their wounds. The enemy approaches and begins to speak.
“You are the best opponents I found in this dimension, it is a pity to have to hand over your powerful spirits to Nocthanath realms!”
The creature approaches Gödel with its claws in an attack position. Hilbert emanating a gigantic aura approaches as fast as a bolt of lightning. He had invoked his supreme enchantment of light. The sword stretched like a blade of light that had grown in size by twenty feet.
The enemy notices Hilbert's presence and quickly grabs Gödel by the throat using him as a shield. The creature starts talking to the prince, who stops moving forward.
“You are the one who decides child! Your friend's life or yours?” I promise I'll let them all live. My offer still remains! What do you say?”
Hilbert was reactionless could not think about killing Gödel. The prince stopped and watched the scene with fury. The creature punches Gödel in the back and brings him to his knees on the ground, and holding his hand high on the ranger in a menacing way while watching the reaction and waiting for the prince's response.
“Don't hold back Hilbert! Just put an end to this arrogant bastard! Don't waste this opportunity for nothing, you pervert!” Gödel says, looking at Hilbert, smiling and spitting a lot of blood.
There were no alternatives. Hilbert, with tears in his eyes and shouting angrily, leaves in a flash towards the enemy as the cursed being prepared to deliver the ultimate attack on the life of his most esteemed friend. Hilbert saw everything in slow motion with tears in his eyes.
Suddenly Fenriz headbutts Gödel, knocking him out of the enemy's attack range, which results in the foe piercing the wolf's back deeply.
The spell of the blade of the sword of light cuts across the opponent's neck, severing its head. The enemy kneels down with its arm stuck inside Fenriz. The creature's body and head start to burn, and then turn to smoke. Fenriz was lying with a huge hole in his back, reactionless and unfortunately lifeless. The great hero of that day was now lying there with tears in his closed eyes with a look of peace.
Hilbert falls to his knees and starts screaming and crying, punching the ground until his hand bleeds. Gödel gets up and goes over to his friend's body and starts to shake him with tears streaming from his eyes.
“Fenriz! FENRIZ! WAKE UP! Get up, you bastard! Why did you do that? Do not leave me, please… Don't go like that! No…no! NOOOOO!!!” Gödel hugs his lifeless friend and kneels screaming. “I WILL KILL ALL OF YOU YOUR CURSED DEMONS WITH MY OWN HANDS!!!”
Hilbert approaches Gödel and puts a hand on his shoulder. Gödel slowly stops hugging the wolf on the ground and holds Hilbert's neck. Both were crying. Gödel starts to punches Hilbert in the face with all the few forces he had left.
“Why? Why didn't you attack before?” and continues to punch Hilbert's already swollen face. “Did you let our brother die at the cost of my life? You said he was going to be fine!” Gödel began to speak slowly with an empty and devastated look. “You ... said ... that he would be fine, Hilbert. You ... said ...” the watery eyes pass over Hilbert who still kept his hand on his friend's shoulder.
“Hilbert, my dear friend!? What have I done to you!?” Gödel is shocked as he looks at his friend's bruised face, and the awe of that vision wakes him from his blinding anger, that was slowly turning to regret, and then guilt.
Hilbert, who was also crying, embraces Gödel who was in tears. Gödel starts to cry harder and hugs back. The two friends knelt before the wolf and stood there for a few minutes in silence. The image of Fenriz as a happy and playful puppy took place in their minds, as well as all the moments they spent together on their missions. The grief was heavy in that dark place. Matilda watched that scene from a distance with tears in her eyes. Eckhart was still unconscious.
A light rain was beginning to fall. The powerful enemy had been defeated, but it cost the life of the faithful and noble warrior wolf, Fenriz.

Reasons to Stay
Immortality has a cost, it differs from person to person. Some regret seeing their loved ones die, some regret they themselves cannot die, some regret the boredom and some regret nothing. This man regrets not having a choice, so after millions of years of getting shot, beheaded, beaten, stabbed and stoned he escaped from the world by hiding in a bunker with his books. He had studied all forms of science, he had lived history and created art, he was content with being alone with his mind until one day a man with a monocle appears, and he learns the truth. Hi! This is my second novel and I just had this idea when I was trying to sleep and my mind was making me re-live all those goddamn nightmares you don't want when it's 1 am and dark as shit, so I thought of happy things like the fantasy genre and my inevitable death and i'm like why not?
8 92A City of One
A three-part story about a mad scientist, a child of death, and a man plagued by imminent doom. Part 1: He's the last man on earth, and it's all his fault. The time counts down as Cain fights against the remains of a fallen world in order to complete a mysterious mission. Where did all the people go? What is Cain's goal? Find out in "A City of One." Author recommendation: This story is best read slowly with sad music playing in your ears. (The Interstellar soundtrack and the song Undaunted, by Audio Machine, are some excellent tone-setters for this tale.)

Thrust into a world of xenoi and hyperdrives, a lone human must battle the crew’s xenophobia and general distrust in a bid to achieve his ultimate goal: bang the ship’s hot captain. Additional tags: xenophobia, mecha, weak to strong protagonist Author's note: This is a work in progress. I've only recently started and I would greatly appreciate any and all feedback regarding this. I plan on having quite a lot of raunchy scenes in there, so if that's not your jam, I suggest you move on because these chapters will still include plot points.
