《Reincarnation (Reverend Insanity Fan-Fic)》Ch 26 - No Regrets

Mo Bei received a reward of 100 primeval stones while Fang Zheng received 50 primeval stones. These rewards were not given in the novel but now that there was a wolf tide, the clan head wanted to develop the top students faster by providing them more resources and motivation. Hence, this led to Mo Bei and Fang Zheng receiving these many primeval stones.
✵✵✵
After the academy lectures, Mo Bei and Fang Yuan met each other at the gate.
Fang Yuan gazed intently at Mo Bei. After a while, he finally smiled and said, "Congratulations young master Gu Yue Mo Bei. You have even surpassed the fastest record for becoming Rank 1 peak stage gu master in whole of Gu Yue clan."
Mo Bei felt goosebumps all over his body as the hair on his body stood up. He never expected such a response and reaction from Fang Yuan. He knew that Fang Yuan's smile was insincere and that Fang Yuan wouldn't even think for a second if he got the chance to backstab him. However, Mo Bei could make sense of this reaction too. Since he and Fang Yuan were connected by Poison Vow Gu, there were lots of benefits for Fang Yuan to be gained from him while there was a negligible chance of betrayal.
Mo Bei controlled his goosebumps and replied succinctly, "I was lucky, brother Fang Yuan. Let's meet tonight for continuing our progress further."
To anyone else who might hear this, it would sound like Mo Bei is talking about their fighting practice, but only Mo Bei and Fang Yuan knew that it was hinted to Flower Wine Monk's Inheritance.
Fang Yuan nodded after some thought and then left the gates heading towards his dormitory.
✵✵✵
At Mo Family manor,
Mo Bei had just finished practicing and feeding all his Gu including the use of Black Boar Gu for 15 minutes. He currently had the strength of easily picking up a whole truck and even throwing it. It was a unique and great feeling for Mo Bei to use such strength daily for practice and also use the Gu worms. This was not possible on Earth and he had only read of cultivation in fantasy novels.

His Grandfather Gu Yue Mo Chen was still in coma but his condition was getting better and he had hopes of recovery.
Mo Bei then leisurely sat on the bedsheet and started thinking about the future.
"There have been many changes since my arrival here. Since Jia Jin Sheng didn't go missing but was killed by that lightning crown wolf, that divine investigator Tie Leng Xue will probably not arrive here anytime soon. This would lead to delayed awakening of First Gen Gu Yue and delayed arrival of Lord Sky Crane to this place."
"At the first glance, this might look like a good situation but is in fact very bad to the overall picture. If Fang Yuan departs late from here, he might miss out on Shang Xin Ci. This might even delay his time jn Shang City and Three Kings Inheritance. He might also miss out on Fixed Immortal Travel and Hu Immortal Blessed land and also would not be able to take part in Imperial court blessed land missing out on Hei Lou Lan and Wisdom Gu. Not getting Wisdom Gu means Fang Yuan won't progress to the levels he reached in the novel and won't even get the Sovereign Immortal Aperture Gu. There would be no way he would be able to maintain the speed as he did in the novel and destroying Fate Gu will only remain as a dream."
"Fuck!", Mo Bei finally realized the gravity of his situation.
"I have do something. Let me recollect the recent events which are of significant importance. First, Fang Yuan must get Blood Skull Gu for increasing his talent. For that, the fight happening between Lord Sky Crane and First Gen Gu Yue is of very high significance. Secondly, Fang Yuan must meet Bai Ning Bing. It is Bai Ning Bing who accompanies Fang Yuan in the original and plays a significant part in the start atleast. That cannot be changed. I have to make Fang Yuan and Bai Ning Bing fight as per original novel as well as make Fang Yuan use Plunder Gu to steal Stone Aperture Gu from Bai Ning Bing. Third, Fang Year's Rebirth cannot be changed. For that Stone Aperture Gu is of significantly important to make his cultivation reach Rank 3 peak stage before rebirth. I have some chances of making change here though. Even if Fang Yuan doesn't use Stone Aperture gu and directly rebirth using Spring Autumn Cicada, it shouldn't be a big problem since Heaven's Will is backing him. Ahh, This is so troublesome."

Mo Bei did not feel like doing anything today. He just laid on the bedsheet looking outside the windows. It was almost impossible for him to correct all those events. He had never even thought so hard about something or felt this helpless. He started thinking about his previous life on Earth to avoid the stress he was feeling right now.
He remembered the faces of his parents, his younger brother who was preparing for masters in engineering, his grandmother who was so healthy and spirited even when she had crossed 90+ years of age, his close friends who use to tease him and make fun of him all the time but never left his side when he actually needed them, his online friends with whom he used to discuss RI and other novels. He remembered all the precious moments he had spent with his loving friends and family, the beautiful places he had visited, the countless memories he had made.
Unbeknownst to him, drops of tears had started flowing from his eyes silently. For the first time since he entered this world, he was feeling truly alone despite there being so many people around him. He had already accepted the fact that he was never going to meet these people again in his lifetime. He started to understand the type of loneliness Fang Yuan must have felt. He was still in a much better position than Fang Yuan since he already knew about the RI world in the form of a novel. However, Fang Yuan was wandering this world for so long without any idea what awaited him. What kept him going was his wits and his single minded goal of immortality. This made the respect that Mo Bei felt for Fang Yuan notch up another level from the bottom of his heart. He wanted to see Fang Yuan succeed. He would not accept any other outcome.
"Fang Yuan did not have knowledge about the world, did not have any directions, did not have anyone to support him, and also did not know the future, but he still persevered. Then why can't I, Gu Yue Mo Bei!!! Why am I so worried about not knowing the future if events changes? If there is no path, then I will make one. If Fang Yuan can't destroy fate by himself, I will support him until he does. I, Gu Yue Mo Bei, won't give up."
"I am lucky to be given life by my parents. I will make full use of it and live without any regrets", Mo Bei wiped his tears and decided that he would live his life without regrets irrespective of whatever happens. His goal, similar to Red Lotus, was destroying Rank 9 Fate Gu!

A (Not So) Simple Fetch Quest
Oh great hero! The evil Demon Lord has once again arisen to terrorise our lands, and we have summoned you to save our people! No, we don't want you to fight the demon lord! Of course not; we're the good guys! What sort of good guys kidnap people from other worlds and force them to take part in wars that have nothing to do with them? That would just be plain evil! We'd be no better than the demons! Katie, after her summoning by an excessively loud mage suddenly takes an unexpected twist, is sent off on a simple fetch quest, with a promise that she'll be back home in five minutes at most. She doesn't even need to leave the building. Alas, when a goddess' blessing causes her wish for an actual adventure to be taken rather more literally than she expected, she finds herself lost in a dark cave, far away from the sword she was supposed to acquire and far too close to a population of giant bugs. Still, at least she wished her life wasn't in any danger. Among other things. Be careful what you wish for. You might just get it. This is a dark litRPG adventure, both in terms of Katie accidentally wishing all the lights out, and also in that she loses as often as she wins, often with horrific and disturbing consequences. Luckily, Katie isn’t the sort of person to let a mere grizzly death or two get her down, and is prepared to try, try and try again to get her hands on the holy sword and finally complete her ‘simple’ fetch quest. Or perhaps—with a few resistance skills under her nightie—she might even come to enjoy losing. Not that she’d ever consider forgoing revenge, even if she did. I’ve ticked all the content warning checkboxes for this one. There’s no explicit sexual content, but there are enough references to justify the warning. Profanity happens rarely, but Katie isn’t averse to swearing when she gets particularly angry. As for gore/trauma, it doesn’t get much worse than the first few chapters, but there will be occasional chapters that have extra content warnings.
