《a new world to call home, as sloths representative》8. Fairy circle

It's been a good couple of hours since the escape. But I find it strange that the I haven't seen any signs of monsters around. If anything I just keep seeing mushroom circles scattered about as the trees thinned out.
I wonder if the guys from before already delt with the threats beforehand. I suppose I should thankful.
"We should rest here for the night," I dont think forcing the horse any more will be good. Thankfully there was a small stream close so feeding the horse wouldn't be as difficult. However i had to keep a good watch since Im not sure if we'll be ambushed or not.
"Understood." She rummage through some boxes. "I have some nuts and dried meat here Miss Lee."
"Meat!" I turned drooling at the word. It wasn't really all that different from the enchanted deers meat. But having something different was good."Im going to set up a few traps around us. So you can sleep in the carrage. Astrel watch over her till I'm done."
They both nodded, and I continued rigging up traps behind us. We should be okay with some drop traps so I can rest for a-
Giggle
What was that?
Giggles
I saw some soft lights form the distance. And giggling growing fainter, yet the light grew brighter.
"Hell no, I've seen this movie before. Im not dying today,"
Piii!
"Astrel!" I dash of to the wagon to see a figure infornt of Astrels soft glow.
"Get away!" I shouted, causing wind to violently push pass the figure.
Pi pii pi! Astrel tried to stop me. As I was getting ready to kick the figure.
"Wind magic? Are you a mage?" The figure asked. It sounded like a man, bit I couldn't se their face.
"Who are you," I moved infront of the wagon. With Astrel sticking close to me.
"Miss Lee?" Sophie called from inside the wagon." What is wrong?"
"Stay in the wagon," I stated." I don't want you getting involved."
"Two wemon on the forest alone? My how strange."
"Fuck off," I hissed. Quickly casting status insight.

The third guardian!? Shit! Did we go the wrong way and go further in the forest? Or is he here for that?
"This feeling, did you cast a spell on me? My body feels heavy."
I can see the figure but not the face." What do you want?"
"I wanted to see who had a fight with a guardian of the forest."
".... that was me," nail on the head.
"Yes, you are the killer of the first guardian. The proof is tied around your waist."
"I have no intention of going deeper in the forest. I just want to leave the forest and take the individual with me back to their home."
"Why kill one of us if you have no intention of getting the heart?"
"Could you at least stand close enough so I can see you? I don't like talking to someone I cant look at." He did. He had tanned skinn and loose robes colored like tree bark. And long brown hair the same color as his eyes.
Ehhh. Not my type...
"Thanks, I killed Gale for selfish reasons. One was to get stronger, however when I ran into him I was already aming to leave the forest but I ended up going further in." I explained. But he was quiet for a while before responding back.
"You are telling the truth, however what is the other reason?"
"Oooo...." I felt kinda bad about this part." I wanted to eat meat... So after I beat him and he died..... I ate him.
And I tried my best not to waste a single scrap of edible meat. Took his hide in case of the weather got cold. And made tools out of the bones that were useble."
"...."
"My God's, miss Lee!" Sophie poped out of the wagon.
"I mean I barried him," I defended." Then after, a very sincere prayer might I add, a tree grew from his grave."
"Its a bit more terrifying knowing that it wasn't a lie." The guardian said.
"Look I'm just trying to leave and get to Frigale. As soon as we get out of here I'll never come back. One month was enough."
" I can tell your are tell the truth."
"I have no reason to hide anything."
"Then with your words, I will assist you to get to your destination."
"Really? And might I ask why you would assist us?"
"In normal circumstances you would already be dead. However, knowing now that you and your companion have no ill intention." He then turned to Astrel."As well as the fact that the child has deemed you...adequate."
"Feeling some hostility here, not going lie. Can you please explain how you will be assisting us?"
"I have an ability called fairy circle, I can transport you anywhere as long as theirs another fairy circle there. And luckily enough Frigale has several."
"Then can you transport this wagon? With all of us and the horse?" Sophie asked.
"Yes."
"Aww yeah baby!" I grinned stupidly.
"So it possible for you transport us close to the town of Reed?" Sophie asked.
"I can try."
"Thank you! I promise you I will never come back here. Never! Unless I have a good genuine life or death reason to. Or im forced against my will. But otherwise I'll never come back here."
"...you are an odd human? So energetic and free spirited, maybe thats why the little one likes you so much," he gestured to Astrel."either way. Please get on the wagon, and never come back."
"Deal! But first." I went and cut the rope unleashing the log trap." Don't want that left behind."
"Truly an odd and terrifying human."
Getting the horse and making sure every one was on board.
"We're good to go."
Placing his arms out infront of the the wagon. And sparkling lights surrounding us with the noise of giggling. The light growing harsher, till a strong floral scent hit me in the fac, and the lights stopped.
----
-
"We're here?" Sophie asked.
"I'll check outside, Astrel you should check and see with word of vine."
Taking out the bone knife out with me, as I cautiously left the wagon. The woods we were now was diffrent from Gia's. But I got a chilling feeling about it.
The floral scent was coming from the meadow we landed on. But the surrounding still left me feeling like we were being watched.
Piii piii piiiii pi!
"We are in the outskirts of a small village near Reed. But somthing is also out there!" Sophie called out also getting out of the wagon.
"Yeah I can't see it, but I feel something is watching us." Astrel flew to me with his soft glow shining."Alright if I can draw them out I think I should take care of these guy, but thats only depending on their numbers."
"Then I'll give some support," Sophie declared.
"You sure, I don't want you pushing yourself."
Piii
"Astrel says 'your one to talk'."
"Ha, you're getting sassy," I grinned to the tiny spirt. Then took a deep breath.
"HEY FUCKERS!" With my scream the wind also picked up and bashed to the trees. While the sound of distorted screams cried out.
"Appraisal"
Goblin -D
Goblin -D
Goblin -D
Goblin -D
Goblin -D
"Those are goblins," I said frantically. "About five, but that's just the ones I could see."
"Disgusting creatures,"
"Thats an understatement," I got a flash back of that one episode of goblin slayer. And I'm on edge because of it.
"I'll make the terrain dificult to walk through for them." Sophie said as she placed her handa on the ground.
"Astrel I'm going to need to to really glow and illuminate the stage for me here,"
Pii!
From what I saw he floated to the wagon and amped up his glow so bright I could see black in the goblins eyes. They look just as ugly as the ones in goblin slayer.
Sophie managed to entrap three goblins in the mess of vines and tree roots that covered the ground. So i can get them a bit later. I should focas on the two still free.
"I'm going to kick their heads off!" I growled dashing off.
One was holding a make-shift spear, so I got out mine from the item box using it like a baseball bat to smack it out of their hand. Then bashing its head with my foot. When I didn't hear a crunch, I forced my spear in to its mouth when I knocked him down. Pinning him to the ground. Eww, I feel sick now.
God my strenght stat is broken.
[Title: Brutalist lv4 >>lv5]
Speak of the devil.
I saw that the other attempted to run. "Get back here!" Again the wind blew down, forcing the goblins body back to me. Quickly I grabbed the goblins spear and held it out as the other was flying back.
It impaled right into it, it was still alive and tried to take out the spear it was impaled with. I looked to the other that was still on the ground. And stabbed the spear with the still impaled goblin to the other through its stomach.
I got out a lot of my spears that I made in the gia forest. And stabbed through both of the goblins, their legs and arms. Some how still alive I left them to deal with the other three.

"...huff...done!" We managed to kill the basterds, but I'm so low on stamina. Sophie came to me doing an examination.
"You have signs of severe dehydration,"
"No... Im fine I just need to rest...."
[Lee Summers lv25>>lv26]
[Title: Unsung hero lv 1. obtained]
[Astrel lv 9>>>>>> lv 15]
[Astrel is at max lv. Evolution now possible]
I can't fucking move my body. "I'll be fine in a little bit so- Bletch" I heaved all over the corpse of the goblin. The low stamina, my head spinning, and all the stronge smell of blood and now vomit. Im more suprised I haven't fainted yet.
Pii pii pii pii
"Someone coming!" Sophie pulled my limp body closer. As she was preparing a spell.
More goblins?
My stamina won't recover in time. Shit!

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
