《a new world to call home, as sloths representative》3. Astrel

Two weeks later
Well I managed to survie this long with trial and a shit load of error. I thought getting the spiders out one by one would be the easiest way to gain exp. But i kept burning out my stamina that way, once that reaches zero Im at the mercy of the wild. And this wild will kill me at the chance. So I had to think a bit out of the box.
So i set it on fire. Only after I was able to Synthesize a flammable oil. Which i found by accident. The giant trees here are practically birch trees, and dad cuts trees for a living. I remember him telling me that birch bark can be turned in to oil. And he brought some home from a job. But he never got around to it, shocker.
Either way, I took over the spider den and made it my offical base! Granted I had to move out the scorched bodies, but I managed to fix it up and make it a real home with in the last 2 hours.
I had stored some viles of the medium spider venom in my item box for emergency, or sell then when or if I get the chance. Though as it stands now, that won't be for a while.
Almost all the spider silk i managed to collect, was used to make some new tools and clothes for myself. My item box helps store food that I've gathered around. I haven't had meat is a while though. It looks like where I am now only had the spiders. I should move out soon. But I can only go so far before my body shows signs of failing me. With all of the grinding i had to do, I'm surprised that im still alive. My stats and skills have really increased.

Since I kicked that spider to death I just focused on kicking. From what I learned from status insight, Vulgar allows me to scream a small curse that temporally stuns monster and decreases defence. I know peopel who curse more then me, but I'm more vocal about it so that probably explains my I have it.
I'm just relieved im still breathing. Hopefully at lv 30 I'll be strong enough to head further in the forest. Till then I have to go gather some berries so I can manage a small garden for easier food access.
Spending what feels like two weeks here, I've managed to find a path were a stream flowed through with a couple of wild berries surrounding the water.
Cultivation wasn't too hard now that appraisal hased leveled up I can find non deadly food. Since I already made that mistake, and I got poison resistances. Now I know the safer barries to eat thought it doesnt mean much.

With these stats the little thing is a baby. What does appraisal have to say about the race.

[Sprite:
The offspring of mediocris trees. They are weak spirits that travel in hopes to find a place to grow and become stronger through evolution. However because they are Small and fragile many don't make it to their next evolution.]
I lightly touched the light and the glow got a little stronger. And it began to freak out and circled around me making its small noise.
Pii pii pii
Maybe I should leave this thing alone, probably doesn't want me here. I could kill it, but its a baby. Even I wouldn't kill a child who couldn't defend itself. I looked up at the sky and saw that the sun was starting to set.
"Better hurry back," making my way back I kept feeling a warm sensation on my head. With soft pii noise being snored into my ear. Did this sprite imprint on me?
[Spirit contract has been signed between Sprite and Lee Summers]
Wait....
What!?
The hell I did! How the fuck did i make a contract!? I don't remember making this contract! What the shit!
The sprite was still hanging onto my hair. Cheerfully making the adorable noise.
"You have no right to be this cute. Your a literal ball of light," felt like my heart melt as it kept making its noise."Man I don't need this, I'm shit at taking care of pets." I had instant flash backs of all the animals that were left in my care over the years. And all of them never lasted long, since mom never liked the animals we had. My thoughts were cut short at the Sprite gradually got brighter.
"Well your glow could be useful, for crafting in the dark. But this doesn't meen you can stay forever!" I lightly nugged it away. But it just kept up its happy chirp. Curse my weak heart.
With carpenter leveled up I can now make furniture. If i keep leveling up i can make a real house for my self soon. God I'd love a cute house with a nice flower garden with some nice hydrangea. I just have to keep grinding, i smiled as I autocreated a door to make sure spiders, or any other monsters get in my new temporary home.
Or I guess, i turned to the sprite calming yellow glow, ours?
I wonder what it eats? Does it even have a mouth? Should I even name it, I rather not get too attached. Since I willingly seperated myself from my loved ones, so I could live here, I dont think im the best person for this tree baby to hang around with.
Yet I feel very calm with it here. Such a nice soft light. It kind of reminds me of something. Kinda like a mini sun, isn't it just a star. "Estrella...estrel...Astrel... Astrel sounds good..." I closed my eyes as the robotic sound played as I drifted to sleep.

Transposition
Please note: the Sexual Content tag is there due to a single brief plot-relevant scene, which has a warning at the beginning. For other details, read the full description below. Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 5 x 5*, 2 x 4.5*, 1 x 0.5* During a blackout, a frail and ragged old woman stops to ask for a glass of water from a backyard barbecue party. Given a good supper instead, she looks around the group, and tells them, "Be who and what you truly are." Days later, seven of the people from the barbecue find themselves drawn into a trap laid by a pair of wizards and their accomplices, who kidnap them into a bubble reality. All seven, who have known each other all their lives, are informed that they are not in fact entirely human: they have active fae blood, due to a series of conditions culminating with the blessing of the elderly fae woman. The transformation into fae form comes as a shock: all seven, whether originally female or male, find themselves now unreasonably beautiful women. More urgent even than that, though, is their captivity. Getting back to the real world is a higher priority than this metamorphosis that rapidly begins to feel natural... but this is only the first step, as the diverse types of fae blood they carry begin to surface. With no resources except themselves, how can they escape this prison? If they succeed, how can they possibly reclaim their lives? Just how many other faelings have been kidnapped, anyway, and what happened to them? And is there a way to make sure that their captors never put anyone else through this? Back in the real world, Kayla, who learned long ago to trust her gut instincts, is absolutely certain that something is very wrong. The pattern in the list of missing friends is easy to spot, but makes no sense at all. Then a young woman turns up at the backyard gate who knows more than she should, and even though her explanation makes even less sense, every instinct tells Kayla that Riley is her only way to get them back. If they're not quite what they were, well, that's a bridge to cross later... Just a little note: I'm a big believer in endings that are upbeat but not candy-coated, and not a fan of grim-and-gritty or of glamorized violence. These are adults in a difficult situation. However, no one gets raped, and the physical violence is, all things considered, fairly minimal. There is some harassment, sexual and otherwise, and also some mild restraint and mild verbal abuse. Complicating factors are generally wizardly or fae in nature. If I need to warn you about gender in this being all over the map, some of it reality-based rather than fantasy-based, highly diverse sexuality, or that there is (especially later) some indirect fetish/BDSM imagery and honest character discussion, then you probably should just avoid everything I write. :-) Also available on Scribble Hub.

The Elemental Arena
*A Rational-Adjacent litRPG Survival Series.* The time for the trials has come, pitting the mortal species of the galaxy against one another. By completing challenges, clearing dungeons, and defeating rival species, the players may forge themselves stronger and smarter. But only one species will be declared the winner. Earth has finally qualified... ...and participation is mandatory. A twenty-nine year old data entry clerk works together with a group of internationally diverse players to survive. Learning synergistic skills and using teamwork, can humanity achieve an upset? If they don't, their lives are forfeit. Author's note: Chapters will be anywhere from 6k to 10k in words, varying based on the plot beats instead of specific word counts. Realistic actions and teamwork will be important aspects of my story. I'm trying something a little different in writing a realism focused litRPG, hoping to capture the essence of how real people would react to their situation. People are complex and don't always get along. I don't recommend starting the series expecting wish fulfillment tropes just because it's tagged litRPG. It's a survival story with the game settings on Hell difficulty. The plot hasn't gotten there yet, but in the future of the series I want to recreate my nostalgia of forty person raids on Ragnaros, but with the high stakes of boss battles in Sword Art Online. I also love puzzle rooms so expect one of those each book. Warnings: mild PG-rated language, graphic violence and gore, and graphic medical content.
