《MHA: The Wolf of the End》Chapter 5

Five months after the incident, I’ve been really thinking things over…
Being a hero is more than just being strong. I noticed it when I look back on that day.
My mind keeps going back to that boy, the green haired one. He ran into the fray with not even a care for his own safety…
I think I know why he has been haunting my every thought since then… He reminds me of that god.. That man, with no care for himself, knowing the danger and finality of losing his hand still put it into my maw.
Tyr, The God of Justice and War..
The only God which I respected, and the only one that truly lived up to his title.
He never complained or thought it was unfair or unjust what the fates dealt him. He always just smiled and pushed forward… He even visited me from time to time…
At the times he did, I would always roar and tell him off; not wanting to face the man that betrayed my trust.. But even then he never stopped coming… always smiling and helping lessen the loneliness in my heart…
That God…
Maybe that’s why I can’t stop thinking about that kid…Even though he knew he couldn’t do anything… Even though he could’ve been hurt or worse!… He still did what was right in the end… No hesitation…
Damn It!!
I punch the bag of sand so hard it flew off, chain snapping, slamming into the nearby wall. Exploding into a cloud of dust.
WHY CANT I STOP THINKING ABOUT IT!!
I fall to my knees in frustration.
Being a hero isn’t about the strength of one’s might alone… It’s about the strength of one’s heart.
I push my paws to my face, rubbing the exhaustion out while also hiding from the world.
How can I be a hero if my hearts not in it…
I hear the slow foot fall of another. Heavy yet still controlled and confident.
I drop my hands and look up at the person that I already knew…
My Father.
He looks at me with kind eyes, while just a hint of a smile is left on his canid lips. He slowly sits beside me and looks forward, thoughts unknown racing through his mind.
Finally, after several minutes of us stewing in silence, he spoke.
“When I was your age… I lost someone dear to me..” He says while still staring off, memory’s flooding the banks that have been in drought for years.

“He was a young man that somehow became this old wolf’s best friend.. Haha, I remember we used to get into all sorts of trouble… chasing the farmer’s livestock.. or sneaking into old Olfs mead cellar to drink our first alcoholic beverage… it was some of the happiest days I ever had..”
He smiles, but I can tell it’s not a happy one. He looks down at his paws and grips them tight, air started to blow through the gym. He squeezed his eyes shut and said..
“But that all ended when he died.. It was a Villain that preyed on children…somehow finding satisfaction from slowly stripping them of their innocence before finally killing them…” I looked at him with pain and understanding.“That sick bastard luckily doesn’t plague this world any longer…” He grits his teeth, “But sadly, not before he killed one last child… My friend.”
The wind started to slow down to a breeze, my Father unfurled his hands and slowly opened his eyes. He turned to look me in mine.
“I know how frustrating it can be, to see someone in-front of you in need of help and not being able to do anything.. And having to see them be saved by someone else.. or not be saved at all.” He gripped my shoulder firmly, softly patting my head.
“I know it seems like you failed when they needed you the most..Like you are not worthy of being a hero…But that doesn’t have to be the case. People can change, hearts can become stronger! Don’t let something that can be a growing experience turn into chain’s that shackle you to the floor!”
He finishes by giving me a kiss on the forehead and embracing me.
I grab my Father, crushing him with my hug. Putting all the frustration and sorrow into it. He never staggered or crumbled under my embrace, standing tall and firm like the mountains that held my wrath. He let me pour it all out and took it all in. I started to feel a weight lifting, his words like a key unlocking the binds of my heart.
We stayed like that, huddled on the floor in silence for who knows how long. But everything must come to an end as I finally let go of my old man.
“Thanks, Father, I needed that..”
“No problem son…And remember, if you ever come to a point in life that you find you can’t overcome it alone.. Just remember! You always have me or your mother here!” He says with a toothy grin plastered on his wolf face.

“Because Wulfric’s never hunt alone!” His smile beaming at me, reminiscent of the dawn. I smile back and chuckle at his cheesy one liner.
“I won’t!”
[5 months after]
It’s finally time…
Time to take the entrance exam! My first step towards being a Hero is finally almost in my grasp! The excitement is killing me!
As I walk toward the entrance of the school shaped like a U, I start to think about Momo. She, unlike me, was accepted already into the Hero program because of special recommendations. She told me that I could also be recommended like this because of my family lineage, but I told her that I would rather earn my way than ride on my parents coattails.
Where’s the fun in that! I want to be challenged and prove to everyone that I can and will be the greatest hero! Even greater than All Might himself!
Speaking of All Might, I heard through the squirrel vine that he would be teaching this year at UA! Which just got my blood pumping even more! Who else to teach us to be the best than the best himself!
As I think about this as I pass through the arch’s to the school, I feel someone bump into me. I look down to see a mess of green hair float in mid air as a girl with small blushing cheeks grips onto his backpack.
“HA! Are you okay?” Says the blush girl to the floating boy that I now recognize as the same one that haunted me for the better part of 5 months.
I then see him freak out as he floated there so I finally stepped up to them.
“Oh shit! Sorry about that!” I say as I walk up while scratching the back of my head.
The girl then smiled at greenie and said, “I stopped you with my quirk! Sorry I didn’t ask first! I figured you wouldn’t mined me catching you!”
The boy just stares at her like she is a Huldra or something? I just look on as she then turns after saying a few words and scurries off.
The boy on the other hand is still enchanted by the spell she apparently cast on him. Not coming out of it until I nudged him and asked, “Are you all right? You seem to be under some spell?”
The boy quickly shakes his head, dispelling the charm and looks back at me… or more like up at me.
I forget sometimes that I’m 7’2”, but when your moms 6’5” and your dads 9’4” you kinda forget the base line of peoples normal height.
“S-sorry! Did you say s-something?!” He stutters out, sweat literally flying off all around him. Do I smell a hint of fear?
“All I wanted to say was sorry for bumping into you. I was kinda in my own head and didn’t realize I had bumped someone until I already saw you falling!” I say trying not to be too scary.
He seems to accept it as he calms down and smiles at me… That damn smile.. So similar..
“Its no problem! My name is Izuku Midoriya! But you can call me Izuku if you want!” He says it with that damn cheerful smile.
I push down my discomfort at the similarity’s as I smile back and extend out my right paw.
“My name is Felir Wulfric! You can call me Felir if you want, no honorific needed either! They make me feel weird.”
Seeing my hand outstretched he finally brings his to meet mine and shakes.
“Nice to meet you Felir-s.. I mean Felir! Sorry, it may take a bit before I can get use to it.” He says as he looks down with a little embarrassment.
“HAHAHA!!” I bellow out, finding his honesty refreshing. “Its fine! You’ll get use to it as we hang out more!”
Izuku looks at me like I rose from the grave.
“What’s wrong? Did I grow a second head or something?”
He shakes his head and reply’s back, “ You said hang out more… D-does that mean.. You want to be f-friends?!” He looks shocked but I can sense hopefulness leaking through.
“Well yes, yes I did mean it like that! I can tell by my sixth sense that you will be a good friend! And my senses are never wrong!” I declared, not wanting to tell him I saw his resolve 10 months back and that he reminded me of a God from my last life.
I turn him around and say “Now enough of the chit chat! Let’s get a move on!… Destiny AWAITS!!”
I with my new comrade in tow race for the entrance, and to the start of our new life!

Oracle by Default
Oracles are known as divine handouts passed down from the Holy Creator. There are times when evil exist and the Holy Creator wishes to intervene, to which the title of the Oracle is bestowed upon an individual to become the Creator's will in physical form. The Oracle's mission is to then gather heroes from different races to purge the evil. “For the reckoning that is to come, all are tested. Thou shall be the shadow of which valiant souls shine and guide thee through harsh trials. Till oblivion comes, do not turn astray but to continue down the path thou chosen to walk. Lastly, thou must not see eye to eye with, but against the world.” A mysterious man engraved a seal onto Kihet before saving him from being consumed by the flames. The seal seems to have a strong connection with the legends of the Oracle and a Tower with no entrance that suddenly sprouted near the village. Throughout years, his efforts to study the strange tower remained fruitless. Then one day, the village decided it was time for his friends and him to become envoys to look for the potential evil the Holy Creator detected. Before Kihet can set off on his journey alongside his friends, he has his own set of problems to overcome against the village. Note: It's slow. There is romance, but it plays a small role that I don’t know if I should add it in the tags. Main story starts at Chapter 12. Chapters before do contain meaningful context for the rest of story.
