PHASE 43 - I’M SORRY, BABY BROTHER MARK II

“My, my… Aren’t you two lovebirds sweet, walking side by side in the middle of the night?” Helena made a devilish grin as her crimson eyes glowed. Both of her eyes bear the same triangle sigil. Now she’s a full-fledged Cursed Guardian. Staring at her irises makes me terrified and part of me wants to run away.

“Helena…” Rikkun muttered as he spread his arms, protecting me from making a step further. “What do you want?”

“I think I told you before. I want to kill that precious lady beside you and consume her soul. I wonder what the Fragment of the Frozen Soul tastes like.” The terrifying sword princess licked her lips.

“B-But why?” I asked as I held my aching chest. “M-Miss Helena, I-I don’t think I did something wrong!”

“Still as innocent as ever, my adorable Tiara. I really wanted to have a baby sister like you. But I’m sorry. Your big sister wants to sing the herself… I want to sing it… to grant my own wishes.”

Rikkun turned to me and whispered. “Tiara, run away while I buy some time. Don’t call for backup.”

“B-But why?” I exclaimed.

“At our current state, nobody can defeat Helena. We will just lose our friends in a silver platter.”

“I won’t leave you alone, no matter what!” I pumped my arms. Then I materialized my Weapon Gem, which is my healing staff.

“Idiot! She only wants you!” Rikkun scolded me.

“Even so, I won’t leave you!” I cried.

“Hahahaha!!!” Helena laughed. “You guys are talking about escaping while keeping me occupied, right?... Don’t worry, none of you will make it out alive!”

They both transformed at the very same time.

Helena still had her mechanical knight armor, but with some few upgrades. There are plenty of black swords encircling around her back, shaping it like a sun. Her helmet, armguard, and steel boots have these black wings similar to Lord Mercury. Her robotic right arm transformed into a large spear. Blue lightning swirled upon every inch of her armor, showing dominance and authority in the realm of gods and mortals.

“Five God Cores…” Lord Freyr muttered. “This is impossible.”

“You know…” Helena talked with her echoing cybernetic voice. “I can erase this whole city... no, the whole country in just a swing of my sword or spear. But I chose not to because my baby brother might get killed.”

“And yet, you almost killed him,” Freyr said. “You’re so twisted that you don’t know what you’re doing anymore.”

“I KNOW WHAT I’M DOING!!!” Helena angrily shouted. “I will collect the twelve God Cores and use the in order to change fate! I will use the omnipotent power to bring a happy ending to my baby brother!!!”

The swarms of swords on the mechanized knight’s back started to hover in the air, and rushed to Freyr’s position!

“Haaa!” Freyr immediately parried all those flying swords with his katana! Homing swords went stuck to the ground as the God of Kings made a magnificent display of his sword skills to deflect all incoming projectiles!

“!!!” Helena launched her gigantic spear hand to Freyr!

A sound ripping the air barrier echoed.

Freyr managed to deflect the spear a few inches away from him, with his sword, but the shockwave of the shooting lance is so powerful that it made us launched into the air!

“Kyaaaah!” I cried as I had my experience as an astronaut.

“Tiara!” Freyr reached out his hand and grabbed my waist.

But before we are able to land to the ground, Helena released another series of powerful attacks! “!!!, !!! , !!!”

“!!!” I shouted. Crystalized dome made out of pure prana emerged, but upon being hit by one of the , it immediately got shattered like glass! We used such little amount of time to evade that incoming blade!

But there are still two spears!

“!!!” Freyr used the crimson tornado to redirect the second spear, leading it to a clear highway! A huge crater was formed upon the spear’s impact on the earth!

“There’s still one more!” Helena laughed.

Stab.

“Gah!” Blood spurted from Freyr’s mouth.

“Rikkun!” I cried.

One of the spears hit his left kidney, and the gigantic blade even went through his back! The spear immediately disappeared after that, leaving an impossibly large hole on the god’s lower abdomen.

Freyr landed in all fours. I immediately treated his wounds with my restoring powers, but the wound is so deep. Even my is not helping to stop the bleeding!

“Just… Just how many times can you release a God Core…” Freyr muttered as he wiped the blood from his lips.

“About twenty-one left,” Helena said. “You know, the funny thing about God Cores is that the more you obtain, the more overpowered you get. It’s not as simple as addition or multiplication. Having two God Cores active already squares up your power… So you can’t imagine how almighty you are if you used five of them at once.”

Lord Freyr mustered his remaining strength to stand up. He looked at me with his passionate emerald eyes as he reached out my chest.

“Tiara…” He muttered weakly.

“Do it, Rikkun!” I cried.

A Gate opened from my heart, revealing the ultimate sword of light. As the God of Kings unsheathed the sword from my body, a sudden surge of pleasurable pain entered my nerves.

“That...That sword…” Helena muttered. Even with her tampered voice, she can’t conceal the fear on her tone.

“This is our trump card!” Lord Freyr proclaimed as he readied his antler bow and charged the in it!

I silently prayed that the should work on her. Because if it doesn’t, we don’t have any means to defeat her.

Blue photon wings spawned upon the sword princess’s back as she charged with killing intent. In a speed faster than light, the mechanical sword princess teleported in front of me. Helena readied his gigantic spear arm to make a fatal thrust to my heart, but then…

“I won’t let you!” Freyr immediately canceled his spell as he swung the halfway through the spear, shattering it into pieces.

But it was all according to Helena’s plan. Now that Freyr is wide open, the evil swordswoman materialized her sword Weapon Gem with her remaining hand, and then made a swift slash, ripping out the God of King’s flesh.

Blood splattered on my face.

“Argh!” Freyr made a simple yet painful cry for a moment.

Helena immediately made a stab straight to Freyr’s left shoulder. She unleashed blue lightning energy from her sword that paralyzed him.

“I’m sorry, Baby Brother Mark II… I know that the power of the God of Kings is a precious gift from Jeannette, but I’ll have to take it away from you.

Suddenly, Helena’s alien arm went through the poor man’s heart.

“UUUUUUUUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!”

Rikkun’s loud cry gave terror to everyone who has ever heard it.
