PHASE 8 - I CAN SEE THE FUTURE

She was so soft as a marshmallow and warm like a bonfire. I can feel her chest in my heart, which was now beating as fast and hard. My mind cleared for this awesome sensation. I would stay like this for eternity.

But then, I noticed that golden particles of light started gathering towards my body. First, my hands turned into golden light. It was followed by my feet, my legs, my body and then my head.

Various images entered in my brain. I saw infinite balls of golden light in the middle of nowhere. I saw the stars being born in the universe. I saw the ancient warriors who fought monsters in a hell-like dimension.

And then I went to a place where there is nothing but ice. In front of me, is a giant diamond-shaped crystal. Inside that is a beautiful woman, completely frozen. But even though that woman was in her eternal sleep, I can hear her voice. I can hear her song which was the most pleasant thing in the whole multiverse.

My senses went back to me. I saw Tiara holding my cheeks. Her golden brown eyes are staring at my soul.

“A-Are you okay now, Rikkun?”

“Yes.”

I looked around and noticed that only a split second has passed. The silver nine-tailed fox is there, fifty meters away, carefully watching our movements.

Suddenly, she put her palm on my forehead. My vision blurred for a second, and now I can see two Tiaras; one looks transparent and one is the real. I thought I was cross-eyed until the transparent Tiara opened her mouth first before the original one. Their movements are the same but the transparent one takes its action first.

“I just activated your Guardian Ability,” Tiara said.

Guardian Ability is the basic superpower that a Gate Guardian will acquire upon baptism. Each Guardian Ability is unique and varies in each person, and is chosen randomly. That is why we have no idea what our Guardian Ability can do until we test it in actual combat.

“RRAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUU!!!” The silver fox howled. It was getting impatient! Now it’s charging to us!

Tiara rushed forward and made a right straight to ts face, but it was blocked by one of its tails! Now the full attention of the Eidolon is on her!

I focused my eyes on the giant silver fox. Now I can see two of them, same as what I saw with Tiara. The transparent silver fox dashed backward first, and then the real fox followed, completely identical in all actions.

Suddenly, the transparent fox made a dashing claw attack!

“Tiara!” I shouted. “Dodge!”

Before the real fox was about to attack, Tiara already made her distance away from the Eidolon. But still, the Eidolon continued to attack the same way as the transparent one!

I finally know how to use this skill of mine!

“Go to your left and make a quick jab, and dash back!” I shouted. Tiara nodded and did exactly what I said.

The fox used three of its tails to smash the island where Tiara was, but Tiara was no longer there. When the silver fox looked a the left, its face was greeted by the shrine maiden’s right fist, making it flinch! The fox made a counterattack with its claws but Tiara already got away by jumping back!

My Guardian Ability… Is the power to see twelve seconds from the future! This is !

“Rikkun!” Tiara shouted. “What will I do next!?”

“Go to the island northeast, and then charge at him with your full speed! But don’t attack him, duck!”

Tiara jumped forward to the designated floating island, and the Eidolon chased her. It used its tails to smash and crash the obstacles in its path. When it was too busy clearing up, Tiara burst forward to the fox! But the fox is not unprepared for a sudden assault! It used its right claw to slash Tiara to pieces! Good thing Tiara ducked as I instructed!

“Now!” I shouted.

“Haaaaaaaaaa!!!” Tiara released her whole strength in a form of right uppercut!

It was a clean hit on the Eidolon’s stomach! There was a strong shockwave upon impact that made most of the floating islands around her reduced to bits of stones! The impact was so powerful that it launched the fox twenty meters above!

But then there was a happening that I had foreseen but we are unable to do anything about it.

The silver fox’s body glowed with white light, and then surged to Tiara in a speed of sound! It was so fast that I only saw a streak of platinum light! And then for a split second, it smashed its nine tails to the shrine maiden!

In a miraculous way, Tiara was able to block most of the tails, but it rendered her injured for even more. She now has blood crawling from her mouth, but if this goes on, she’ll die!

A ridiculous idea entered my mind.

“Tiara, use !!!”

Tiara gripped on one of the silver tails and focused her life energy on her hands! Silver smoke came out from the fox’s body, and then entered to the shrine maiden’s fists! The fox struggled to get out of Tiara’s hands by smashing her to the ground, but Tiara managed to endure all those pain!

The fox has been noticeably weaker since Tiara absorbs the silver light from the Eidolon. But the Eidolon tried its last resort, an electro-ball!

There was a deafening explosion! The whole island where they are battling was completely destroyed by the blast. There were smoke and dust everywhere. I’m not even certain if Tiara was directly hit by that electric ball.

The first one which came out of the smoke is the silver fox. Unlike before, it was no longer glowing with white energy, and now it only has five tails left.

When the smoke faded, Tiara revealed herself, completely healed from the wounds she suffered earlier. I have no idea what happened, but I’m sure we’re now getting the upper hand!

But the silver fox was no longer interested in taking us down. It howled, echoing in this vast universe. And a dark portal opened above it. Tiara proceeded to chase the fox by jumping from island to island, but the fox managed to flee using the portal it created.

After the enemy’s exit, the hellish design of the place immediately faded. Everything went back to normal. The old home economics room was just in front of me. There were no longer people in this school, and the skies are already dark and filled with stars.

“Rikkun!” Tiara rushed to me. Her eyes were about to shed a tear. She was so concerned about me, that she even haven’t noticed that her tattered clothes are already giving off much of her skin. Yep, I can see her cleavage and white bra (36D cup size, damn!)

“I-I’m fine.” I said to her.

But upon releasing those words, my head started to ache and my vision became blurry. And then everything went black, and all I ever heard before passing out is Tiara shouting my nickname.
