Chapter 5: Finding a Big Thigh to Hug Part 1
"Will we meet again?"
A young lady asked the boy in front of him. The boy can't discern her expression with her head downcast. He imagined that she's close to crying from the faint audible sniffles that he heard.
"Yes, I promise."
And the dam broke. The young lady burst into tears and she runs towards his chest. The boy wrapped his arms around her, giving her a hug while his hand gently sweeps her back.
It is a touching scene of two lovers saying their goodbyes to each other, being separated by things out of their control.
Recalling that memory, Klein can only give a rueful sigh. It has been three weeks since then.
'I don't know if we will meet again, Esme. But I hope that you will remember our times fondly when you become old. The blissful memories of youth.' Klein thought to himself.
After luring one Hungry wolf away, the guards made short work of the wolves.
Head guard Rico together with the bearded old guy, Kelly, defeated the remaining Hungry wolf in a short time.
Though they didn't manage to kill it, they manage to give the wolf a serious injury, forcing it to command a retreat.
As for Klein, after surviving his ordeal and gaining a new ability, he walked back to the camp. He was greeted by the sight of the mercenaries harvesting the fallen wolves for their parts.
They looked at him with varying reaction. Some look at him with indifference. Some look surprised that he survived. And some are happy to see him.
"Wow, amazing!"
"Lucky brat!"
"He must have lied about his Blessing."
"Sob... Klein, you scared me. I thought you'll die for sure."
Surviving an encounter, a chase to be exact, from a Hungry Wolf as a normal human is nothing but a miracle.
And being a pivotal role in the defeat of the wolves, the Merchant leader decided to give him a reward.
After arriving at Leans, he bought Klein a ticket for a flying Ship going to Merc City, the capital of the Merc Kingdom.
This world has air travel and it's achieve by magic. The flying ship going to Merc City and from Leans arrives every three months, and the next schedule is two months from now.
Esme's father is even generous enough to pay for Klein's stay on an inn for a month. He even gave Klein some pocket money.

And that's not the only reward Klein got.
There's nothing more effective in making two hearts grow closer than surviving a terrifying ordeal.
The Suspension Bridge Effect!
And Klein, coming close to his true nature as a shameless person, took advantage of this fact.
Taking advantage of the young girl's heart, he went from first base all the way to fourth base, scoring a home run. He was really glad that his stamina is not fixed at 5.
And it resulted in that tearful reunion three weeks ago.
The merchant caravan is headed toward the next city, while Klein had to stay at Leans to wait for his flying ship.
But looking at his situation now and comparing it to three weeks ago, it is heaven and earth apart.
The pocket money that Klein received from Esme's father got stolen just after a day of acquiring it. Fortunately, he left his ticket in the inn or else, he won't really know what to do.
Being new to this world, Klein would have starved to death. Luckily, just like any other fantasy world, this world has an Adventurer's Guild.
Adventurer's Guild is a place where common folk give request such as cleaning the public restroom, sweeping the park, or high class request such as guards for escort. There are even an occasional request for herb gathering or extermination of beast.
And luckily, Klein's blessing is not as useless as he thought.
'Status' Klein thought to himself before a green screen appear in his vision.

Skills:
None
Klein's stats haven't changed since the first time that he had seen it, but he gained two new abilities from his blessing: Weak Point and Weak Presence.
Klein didn't notice when he received the Weak Point ability. But he surmised that he got it after he impaled the wolf cub in its mouth with a spear.
Klein tried using Weak Point a few times and he was able to see lines appear in the body of humans.
Well, that's what he hoped would happen when he used Weak Point. Lines would appear and by following its trace, he can easily cut anything, just like the Main Character's ability in Tsukihime.
Klein would then be seriously OP.
But sadly that's not the case.
When Klein activates Weak Point, he instinctively know where to hit a human being to deal the most damage.
Klein categories this as an OP skill if it's given to any other person. But sadly, with Klein's strength fixed at 5, he can't deal that much damage.
In conclusion, he categories it in the same level of his two other abilities. Basically, it's trash.
But the same thing can't be said about his last ability, Weak Presence.
Klein thought that it is also useless at first but later on, he was proven wrong.
It saved him from being penniless.
He did some mindless and grueling tasks like washing the dishes and sweeping the streets for a few days to feed himself.
Klein thought that he will continue to do so untill his flying ship arrives, but he was proven wrong.
A new quest has arrived in the Guild that will easily allow him to earn a bunch of money.
Herb gathering.
Due to the recent monster invasion, potions have risen in demand. And the supply can't keep up with this demand.
Greenhouses catering herbs can't produce enough raw materials for potions. So the apothecaries have no choice but to request for gathering of wild herbs.
This job is not easy as it sounds.
You can't found any herbs at least a few miles outside the city. They were already gathered a long time ago.
You need to enter deep into the forest before you have the chances of finding a herb. And this is where the problem starts. Different kinds of beast live inside the forest. And if you are unlucky enough, you might encounter a magical beasts.
Strong adventurers can easily accomplish this task but they can't be bothered for something this small. They have more profitable and better opportunities than herb gathering.
So only rookie adventurers take this quests. They can be lucky and find some herbs in the outskirts of the city or try their luck on not attracting any strong beasts after entering the forest.
But the chances of this happening are too low.
But for Klein, this wasn't a problem.
Weak Presence (Passive): You are so weak that any predator don't even consider you as a prey.
Yes, with this skill, Klein can leisurely walk deep into the forest, and no beast will bother him.
It is secretly an OP skill.
And with Weak Presence being a Passive, he didn't need to consume something like stamina like his other ability Weak Point. Weak Presence is always on.
And with this ability, he easily completed the job.
His quest isn't without any hardship though.
The journey inside the forest where herbs are abundant took him three days. He then spent a whole day spotting and picking up herbs. And the journey back took him another three days.
Klein's only sustenance are beef jerkies and the fruits he plucked while traveling. And it wasn't his worst complaint. For some reason, Weak Presence doesn't work with mosquitoes.
And worst of all with a strength of 5, he is limited on the amount of herbs he can carry.
But the fact he can only carry half a normal person worth didn't put a frown on his face.
On his trip inside the forest, he discovered something big. And with this information, he can receive a pay of least ten times of what he got after completing the Herb Gathering quest.
Klein is currently heading toward the Guild after delivering the herbs and getting his reward in the apothecary.
He is excited in reporting his findings. Thinking of the reward, a smile appears on his face.
But halfway through, he discovered a commotion.
Inside an alley, there are ten guys surrounding a person. Klein can easily tell that they are up to no good.
'No use in butting my head where it don't belong,' Klein thought to himself before resuming his pace.
But after a few steps, he gets a clear view of the person's face.
'Well, I guess it's time to play the hero.'
Klein changed his mind, and he approached the group.
