Chapter 76. History(2)
A few decades went by as the records kept observing the people and training the clueless new ones, but soon a problem came up.
The cultivation methods evolved quickly, and the ones that Records knew began to get old. The newbies were not able to adjust when they entered the bigger world, the power gap was too huge and kept on increasing.
The Record could observe the people, and what they did but it had no idea what happened inside their bodies when they cultivated.
One day the leaders of sects, families, academies and all such organizations received a prompt.
It was a trade offer.
They could trade their newer cultivation methods in exchange for some benefits. Multiple choices or reserving stars, there were various benefits that the Records had proposed.
The benefit would be based on the manuals they provided and how valuable they were.
The Record didn't need anything that exceeded the level it had been created to train. The proposal was quickly agreed and the factions started to trade cultivation methods for different benefits.
The 'Realm' was once again thankful for the creation of the 'Record', even though it had swallowed their strongest.
One day a star was discovered that shook the entire Realm.
A star where the beast and humans coexisted learning from each other. The humans were able to harness the power of beasts while the beasts were able to use the cultivation methods of the humans.
The Realm had been so blinded in their struggle for power and trying to prove that they were superior, that it had unknowingly closed a path to greater power.
This led to the formation of alliances, beasts and humans were collaborating. Some rejected this idea and swore to never do so in the future, while some welcomed this idea with open hands.

Another star was discovered that had gained strength through a completely different source.
It used contracts, borrowing a small amount of power from greater beings or nature itself.
Slowly the boundary between beasts humans, and nature blurred, and their methods of cultivation were categorized into four general categories.
Core Cultivation, humans or beast that form a core in their body that generates power. They need to strengthen their body and mind, then enhance their core to progress further in cultivation.
It is a slow method but gives rise to a stable base and has lesser risks.
Body Cultivation, humans and beast use the essence of monsters to refine their bodies, mind, and blood to get stronger. The method is painful but fast, it is risky but the rewards make up for the risk it provides.
Soul Cultivation, humans and beasts that focus on the soul aspect of cultivation. They borrow power from a greater being and then use it per their wishes. The fastest method but also the hardest to progress in later on.
Due to the newly created connection between the beasts and the humans a new race was born.
Beastmen.
They carry the traits of both humans and beasts. Most of the time either the human or the beast trait is dominant but occasionally a child is born with equally prominent traits.
There were many other species spread across the Realm, but the beasts and the humans inhabited most of it. Most of the other species wish to stay neutral, observe things, and live in peace.
There are still wars and conflicts between various organizations, those cannot be avoided but since the creation of the 'Records', there have been no Realm-wide wars.
But till when.
It was a lot to take in.
We had never discovered aliens, nor found any semblance of life in outer space but now we had to believe that there were people with eons of history out in the universe?

But what else could we even do? Being here, having this panel in front of me, the ability to control blood, and everything else that had happened till this point was hard to believe.
If we turned back a year and some said this was about to happen, no one would've believed it.
We had time though.
To protect or to let the stars adapt to a safe environment, they were given protection. No force would be able to visit the planet or interfere with it.
After a certain percentage of people crossed the required level, the stars would then be allowed merge in with the parent force. Not everything was made clear, and there were a lot of loopholes present.
Like even if they couldn't enter, the residents of the stars were allowed to leave, the token I had received being proof of that. And there might be infinite such loopholes present.
I took and deep breath and stopped thinking for a moment. Even if I knew every loophole, to prevent getting exploited we needed to be strong. I needed to be strong.
And currently, I am weak.
This was all the important stuff I could find through the books that had been selected. The species section talked a lot about different beings, but they were not so important for now.
I did read through all of them and there was no information present about goblins.
One other important note that was mentioned in the Species book was that there are only selected species that will successfully go over the 'mortal' level. Humans were an example while others had a one-in-a-million chance.
I did not know what 'mortal' indicated here but I assume it to be till level hundred. Because after that almost everything is referred to as 'Ascended', and the Hobgoblin too described something similar.
Reading through so many books did take a lot of time. I glanced towards the timer hovering in the corner of my vision, 4 days and 10 hours.
I had surprisingly spent 3+ days reading and there were still many questions that have been left unanswered.

Entangled Fates Book 1 - Quantum Beginnings
“By far, the greatest danger of Artificial Intelligence is that people conclude too early that they understand it.” —Eliezer Yudkowsky Hey all, we're moving over to book 2. This content is in a state of transition. The book is now availble on Amazon (includes extra chapters): https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B07W1534R8 Artificial intelligence was nearly mankind’s last invention. AI took off like a rocket, then when it racked up an impressive death toll, it crashed before it could blossom and took most high-tech industries with it. Resistance and fears became deep-set. Two decades after the infamous Rev. 4.6 incidents, humanity hasn’t quit dreaming of the wealth and power that could be at their fingertips. A new generation of mega-corporations rose from the ashes. When one melds a quantum computer to a barely functional mental patient as a PR move, there are those who seek to profit, those who want to destroy it, and Alex. Alex Sage is a typical college student trying to keep up his grades and maybe find a meaningful connection with the fairer sex. Then, an automated semi crashes into his home, killing his family and turning his head into a pin cushion in the process. Alex awakens to find most of his memories gone and an illegal AI hidden in his brain implant. Now the pet project of a tech billionaire and heavily in debt, Alex struggles to stay valuable enough to be kept online. Still grappling with the repercussions of his injuries, and threats from a dangerous anti-augmentation political movement, there are no easy answers and threats loom around every corner. Alex must use whatever resources he can to escape from under the thumb of a ruthless corporation, while keeping those he comes to love safe. Chapters will stay up on RRL until Aug 10. It'll go up on Kindle Unlimited after that. How do you get those extra chapters I didn't have planned for RR? If you want them, they'll be in the published book. Book 2 will still make sense without them - I made sure of that. But... isn't $3 a lot for extra chapters? Think of it as tipping me for a good job and you'd also be getting my eternal thanks. If you enjoyed it so much that the idea of missing out a few chapters haunts you, I did my job as an author and made an engaging story. What's in those extra chapters? Resolving a few issues, set up for the cybernetic revolution, a rather intense sex scene with a new partner, revelations of who's really pulling strings, and a bit of set up for book 2. Complaints that people missed out on it when it was published here won't help (sorry!). I posted this for the folks who helped me shape the book, which is you all! (Again, yay!) But... Why! Why not keep it all on RR forever? My editor likes being paid for one. For two, I'd like the ability to get broader readership. If I break even on editor costs, I'll be incredibly happy. What about book 2? Drafts for Book 2 will go up around Sept 10. My draft of Book 2 is done, and it will be handed to the editor once Book 1 is published. Feedback has been even more positive. Beta readers devoured it and wanted more. I'll add a link to Book 2 once it's up on RR. I'm more or less, using you all for Beta Readers, so you get it before it's "canon" and edited. I invite active and meaningful feedback during this process. In return, you get early access to chapters. That does mean that the book content or plot might be adjusted before it gets published as I refine it. Sex Y/N? Yes. I heard the feedback, 90% wanted it explicit. You all will get the "full" experience. Will I dump all of book 2 here? Honestly, I'm not sure yet. At a minimum, it'll be up to the 75% mark as we collect feedback, much like what I did with book 1. It really depends on how good the feedback is and how nice people are. Lots of support + meaningful feedback to make it better = higher likelihood you get all the book. Will be it up here indefinitely? No, it'll probably go up on KU at some point, but I'll make sure there's enough time for a large readership to grab it here. Then we move to book 3 which already is around 60K words already. What about other adventures in the same universe/characters? Yep. Absolutely. Nothing ready to share yet though. I plan to keep those side chapters and more slice of life stories as RR exclusive. Since I'm carving this off in book-sized segments, I'll have to figure out where those disconnected story arcs belong. I'm open to suggestions.
