《The Demon Lord who wished to be a Hero》Chapter Four - Affinities [I suck at naming Chapters]

“Bloodmancy, Necromancy, Hellfire, Biomancy, Entomancy, and Nightmare” The Orb responds emotionless once my hand touches it.
So I got five Forbidden Magical affinities and one I don’t know is forbidden or not, so six affinities in total.. Should I be laughing or crying right now?
Well, I’m looking around right now and everyone’s mouth is to the ground, some look horrified except the Headmaster has the expression of Ecstasy..
Please.. No one should ever have to see that expression on you.
Wait! What's going to happen! I’m going to get killed aren’t I! My goal of being anonymous is being threatened!
What do I do, run away? kill everyone? I doubt I have the ability to kill everyone let alone kill the Headmaster..
Wait.. Why is everyone not moving? Now that I mention it, they haven’t been moving ever since my Magical Affinities finished being announced.
“Done having a panic attack ‘Demon Spawn’?” The headmaster chuckles at me.
He has an entirely different presence now, more dangerous and serious. His eyes have changed to a purple white mixture which seem to be staring into my very soul. Do Demon Lords have souls?
“‘Demon Spawn’? hehe.. Don’t know what you mean..” I look away nervously while he chuckles again rolling his shoulders and gives me a smile ear to ear. He looks like an old Cheshire cat right now..
“Don’t play stupid with me boy, I've just saved your life if you haven't noticed.” He motions to the frozen classmates, mockingly.
“I would appreciate the cooperation from my new champion, fufufufu…” He states and chuckles, he even puts his hand to his mouth when the laughs.. ugh.. it's giving me shivers down my spine.
I give him an uneasy look. “Why did you saved me and how? And what do you mean champion!?” I start glaring at him at the last part frantically waving my arms around.
He sighs and rolls his eyes, looking disappointed at me. I never wanted your approval anyways B-baka..
“I froze everyone in time right now besides you and me. At Least in the auditorium… and the champion thing? I mean you becoming my champion, my sword to cause chaos.” He’s smiling devilishly and twirls his mustache.
He continues on by pacing back and forth while I have my mouth open, trying to process who the hell he actually is and why he wants me to be his ‘Champion’. Besides me having five Forbidden affinities.
“Seeing I, the Prince of Chaos, deem you interesting and as an entity that will undoubtedly will cause chaos. Willingly or unwillingly, claim you as my Champion and will give you my blessing.. Also please close your mouth, you'll catch Bloatflies.”
“Prince of Chaos?” I croak out confused which he responded with. “Exactly! The one and only! Son of the King of Chaos or also known as the God of Chaos!”
He smiles mischievously, quickly sits down in a non existent chair putting his hands together and stares me in the eyes.
“Now there is many questions you probably have, however I don't have the time.” He says that yet he froze time.. At least in here, and there may be a time limit.. dammit he's right.
“I will just say it, get the hell out of this country as fast as possible or at least hide in a secluded area like a mountain or tomb! Ooo! Perhaps a mountain tomb, Ha!”

The crazy bastard starts giggling madly than sobers up and cough. “Sorry, I'm just so excited! Having a new champion and a Nightmare user as well! Hopefully you will pass the Mage rank and relax rewrite history!"
“Uhm.. Why has no one ever gotten past the Mage rank in Nightmare magic, if I may ask..” I laugh awkwardly at the end.
How can Nightmare magic be that dangerous? Like it's impossible to learn and get further? Is it because we get hunted down? So many questions.
“Well, for one, Nightmare users are ranked as a nation risk. Not even joking, it's extremely dangerous in someone's hands what they can do or summon. I haven't told you yet how you can go up in magical ranks yet, correct?”
“I thi-” I was start which the then rudely interrupts! If he wasn’t a (Demigod?) I would totally slap him right now.
“Good! Ranks go from Mage all the way to Occult! Every magical field have their own ranks so you can’t just have Warlock in Pyromancy and also have it in Hydromancy without training it.” That seems understandable, Mage is like Novice class while Occult is Master?
“Each rank enhances your Mana pool slightly, the fields power and lowers the cost. Going up a rank highly lowers cost of lower ranked spells and boosts your Mana pool.” Ooo, I can just train all my affinities to get as much boost in Mana as possible..
“To go to the next rank however you need to cast a level one next rank spell which may or may not kill you if you're ready or not” Did, did the just say going to a higher rank may kill you? Is power worth risking your life!? Well, actually depending who you ask would probably reply yes, and it’s not like I would die right? I got rescanning on my side!
“And the main reason no one can get higher than Mage in Nightmare is due to the Rank up requirement?” I inquire which he smirks and replies.
“Yes and no, yes because they usually die however no due to them surviving the spell but what comes after kills them or casting a spell that was dangerous from the start.” What? Did you guys understand this or is it just me?
“Can you be more specific please?” I’m getting annoyed now and it’s showing in my tone and facial expressions. I think the didn’t notice or is ignoring it, is he polite or think I’m not worth it?
“Most of the Nightmare spells will summon a “Nightmare Demon” either by the spell itself or the byproduct of killing a creature with the spell. The “Nightmare Demon” then kills the Caster 99% of the time. So when they cast the next rank spell which is a weak version of the Higher ranked “Nightmare Realm”, they get killed just after ranking up. Quite sad I must admit, people have ranked up however we never have a living example to document it.” He shakes his head sadly, acting like this is the saddest thing the ever heard, like hearing the smallest violin playing for the last time.
Well it is sad.. I will never be able to rank up unless I need to respawn.. “So, I shouldn’t try it?” I ask, checking if he cares if I should risk my life or not.

“You should definitely try! It would be fun to watch!” I glare at him when he says that and the raises his hands defensively.
“Come on, it would! I can see great potential in you for that kind of magic, I’ll even give you some tips. How about that?” He gives me an apologetic face and I sigh.
“What’s the Tips? and please don’t be some really stupid ones.” I tell him and the looks offended.
“You think I would give you some stupid tips? La Gasp! How dare you, I don’t feel like helping you now..” He sticks his nose upwards to me and I yell at him.
“Just tell me the dam Tips already! I thought we didn’t have all day!” I growl at him angrily.
His eyes open widely in alarm. “Shit! Forgot about that! I’ll tell you quickly and you have to scram! You got like less than a minute left before the spell is over.” He says quickly then bites his lips before continuing.
“The only spell you should use in the Nightmare field is [Nightmare Cloak], that is the only one that will not get you killed by a Nightmare Demon. Don’t try any other Nightmare spells before you find a way to protect yourself, and finally. I suggest testing Biomancy as soon as possible on creatures that you capture.”
After saying all that he stops to think then nods his head. He than starts smiling again which makes me uncomfortable.
“Now scram quickly! Don’t go to any store and just leave town, I doubt any monster around here could be of any danger to you. Now take care my Champion!” He starts laughing while I run out after waving to the Demigod of Chaos. What have I gotten myself into.
[Prince of Chaos POV]
Ahhh, my first ever champion. It’s like buying yourself a brand new toy for the first time. I wonder how well he will do in the world and how much chaos he will sew!
Sadly there was a few things I would love to say to him, like where to go to become the Champion of Terrhir and would be able to practice Nightmare magic without danger. But Jackel told us not to interfere too much. Douche.
He’ll be fine however, Like I said to him, I doubt there's any creature strong enough in the area to kill him. The most dangerous would be the guards in the village or the Goblin Mage in that miserable little thing they call a village.
Hmm. Seems like the spell will wear off in a few seconds, time to act like a “Chaotic Headmaster” again, Fufufufu..
[Zxel Alvichia POV]
I ran as fast as I could out of the Institute, hit some vases along the way, however tipped over the Paintings I passed one the way on purpose. I Regret nothing. Also reminds me of an old saying. “Fuck the Police”
Soon enough some people start chasing me probably due to tipping over the paintings but I wasn’t listening to what they were yelling at me.
Once I barge out of the front doors, I sprint towards the gate and start climbing as fast as a Rabid fan trying to reach their Hero!
As soon as I crossed it, I gave my pursuers a few ‘Gifts’ such as the ‘Bird’ and some other insults and made my merry way out of town.
While I am walking I noticed a crowd is forming, around a hundred people at least. I wish I knew what the commotion is about but I don’t have the time, I doubt it was of any importance to me.
Few minutes later I’m out of town. It was quite easy, there wasn’t any guards watching the Gate to exit or enter town, lucky me!
It’s sad however I had to leave the Town so fast, less than a day leaving the beginner town and being forced not to return. I mainly regret not buying anything that I could use in the forest but I can survive it.
Wait, shit. Just forgot monsters are out here. Headma- No, the Prince of Chaos said the monsters will be no threat to me so I should trust him right? Who am I kidding! the is a bloody Demigod of CHAOS! The bastard would definitely lie to me! OR should I trust him.. Gahh, my head…
Here we are.. The Forest.. Never really asked what’s it’s name but whatever, not like it's really important right now, right?
As the sun sets turning the sky into a beautiful pink and red sky, I can see two blue moons coming into sight. One is larger than the other and they both have symbols in them. Can’t see it properly without gear but there's something.
I start walking towards the entrance of the large vegetation of the woods, having small critters running around and the buzz of insects. It’s quite peaceful the deeper I get in, the wind breezing softly through the tree branches while the night continues to descend upon the weary mortals of this plane.
Trudging through the woods until I find a little spot I can settle down for the night. Has a few logs I can use as a rough pillow or a seat, which I than use it for such.
I stay there for a few moments before I start hearing noises. Bushes being rustled and twigs being snapped. I also see dark shapes running around in the dark.
Okay, what the hell are these.. Should I equip my gear or start casting spells? Yeah I should do something before they get any clos- Before I can finish that thought I feel something hit the back of my head and everything fades to black…
[Hello! and sorry for not putting out a chapter like I said. It seems like regularly putting out chapters is not happening. I am hoping to put out another chapter this weekend due to being almost finished the other chapter, and I said "Hoping" sorry in advance if I can't get it out. Anyways! If you have any tips or questions please tell me! have a good day~]

8 160Life in the New World
On the Hiatus: I began writing this novel when I was, in all honesty, very bad at writing. I hope to revisit creative writing in the near future and I plan to, at some point in time, revisit this. I am flattered that many people have taken the time to read this story, but it is not what I intend to start with, as it will likely need a hard rewrite in order to correct many of the more glaring issues it has. Join our hero and follow his exciting adventure through a newly changed world! WARNING their will be violence, profanity,, and gore in this fiction. if any of these make you uncomfortable this is not a story for you turn around and walk away now!!!
