The former dagger sized weapons are now the size of full swords, their colors a combination of each other.
Elias: Now, I’m ready. Matsuburo.
Matsuburo: So, you're that intune with your thousand arms. Good, this might actually be fun.
--- Chapter 55 ---
Elias gets in a fight position. Matsuburo tightens his grip on his blade.
Elias: Vanishing step.
Matsuburo: Vanishing step huh?
Elias disappears and reappears behind Matsuburo, off to his left a little. Matsuburo looks over his shoulder back at him.
Matsuburo: You call that a cut? Ahahaha.
As he's saying this his shoulder cracks and a bit of blood squirts out. Elias cracks a smirk
Matsuburo: Impressive, all that with one, no, two hits. This will be fun, so I won't hold back!
Elias: Good.
Elias dashes in at incredible speed, Matsuburo swiftly hitting his attacks away. Elias keeps disappearing and reappearing around him, getting some hits on him but Matsuburo is moving swiftly despite his size and sword size. Both Elias and Matsuburo are covered in slashes.
Matsuburo: Your pretty good kid.
Elias: Not good enough, not yet at least. Now, Tsukuyomi, Eclipse this world into darkness.
Dark energy starts to radiate from him. He leaps up into the sky, his body covering most of the sun from view of Matsuburo.
Elias: TSUKUYOMI ECLIPSE, ETERNAL SLASH!
Tsukuyomi vanishes out of his hand and begins to rapidly slash Matsuburo, causing an incredible amount of cracks. Tsukuyomi returns to his hands.
Elias: Now it's time, for my final attack, Tsukuyomi, Amaterasu, Eclipse this world in the sun halo. SOLAR ECLIPSE, FORM 1! ROARING STRIKE!
A fire envelops around Elias, and bursts downward at incredible speeds, too fast for even Matsuburo to react. As he strikes into Matsuburo, he slices with both swords, leaving a large X shaped crack across his chest. Following this is his chest chattering, and an explosion from impact. Elias sits there breathing heavily. The dust begins to settle, and Matsuburo is just there, taking a knee, he looks up with a grin. Elias, shocked of how he survived, puts his guard back up.

Matsuburo: That was, INCREDIBLE!
Elias: How are you still-
Matsuburo: Alive? My body is simply incredible. My whole body is a flexible suit of armor.
The cracks, and missing chunks in his skin, begin to regenerate. The cracks heal over and the skin along his chest begins to return.
Matsuburo: You good to keep going? Me and Iko are just starting to get warmed up. As a matter of fact.
He lifts Iko, pointing the tip to Elias.
Matsuburo: Awaken Iko, come forth and consume, and make my enemies cower in fear before becoming my blade.
Iko starts to shrink in size, to a skinny blade, but much longer. Arcane seals down the side of it, and the blood stains grow and envelope the blade, causing it to turn a crimson red.
Matsuburo: Now it's a party.
Matsuburo Runs forward, wielding the blade above his right shoulder, wielding it with both hands. He slashes forward, and Elias blocks as fast as he can but some strikes make it through, turning the blood on the wound to plasma. Matsuburo backs away and lifts up Iko, the arcane seals begin to turn a light green. As he moves again his speed is incredibly faster, so fast Elias can't keep up with all of them. Elias is sent back, bleeding plasma.
Matsuburo: Shame, We were just starting to have fun.
Sole: Enough.
Matsuburo: Hm?
Sole begins to grow in size.
Matsuburo: Ah, you look strong, maybe you will give me a ch-
Sole: Enough monologuing. You hurt my brother, and my guildmates. The only one deserving of monologuing is myself, vile scum. Though I will commend your strength.
Matsuburo: thanks but thats some big talk for a li-
Sole: I wasn't talking to you. I was talking to my brother, he's stronger than I remember. But he's still nowhere close to my strength. And neither are you.

Matsuburo: Alright, that's it, DIE.
Sole: No.
Sole reaches his right hand out, and his chest begins to glow, his shirt ripping off in a blaze. The symbol on his chest is similar to that of Hiro’s and Elias’s. A large greatsword came out of his chest. In the center of the guard is a circle, closed with metal plates. The wind pressure circles violently around him.
Matsuburo: That blade…
Sole: Normally I only use this blade on those I deem worthy. But I will make an exception as my team is bleeding out.
Matsuburo: Your saying I'm not worthy? Ahahaha, you're a funny guy.
Sole laughs with him.
Matsuburo: I am the funniest guy to ever exist.
Sole stops laughing but stays in the same position, before swinging at fast speed, landing with a serious face.
Sole: But this is no joke.
Matsuburos eyes widened at the sudden realization of what had happened. He looks down as his torso begins to fall off his body. In a linear line behind him, a shockwave cracks the ground. Matsuburo looks at his severed body, missing his lower half and arms.
Sole: Alright now let's get you in cuffs.
Sole puts him in cuffs and throws him in the back. He returns to normal and picks up Ralbi, bandaging him up. Elias sits there and looks over to Sole.
Elias: Again… It always happens…

On the Road to Elspar (Book 1)
The year is 1329. The Huntress' War has entered its tenth year, inflaming competing nationalisms and pitting the Confederacy of Caldrein against one of the continent's superpowers, the Tenereian Union. Desperately outnumbered, the Confederacy has relied on the prowess of its famed Caldran mercenaries, with highly-trained and experienced warbands returning from foreign conflicts to the defense of their homeland, and it is on their backs that Caldrein has successfully mounted a valiant defense for a decade. But they are losing, and day by day, with all the grace of a sledgehammer, the vast Tenereian armies take one more bit of Caldran territory, one footstep at a time. Sixteen-year-old Neianne from the village of Caelon has submitted herself to Faulkren Academy, one of the centuries-old institutions established to train the next generation of Caldrein's elite soldiers of fortune, to learn the ways of wars for three years before embarking upon the defense of her country. Her dryad family once hailed from reclusive woodland communes isolated from Caldrein's complicated mainstream society, and her upbringing leaves the shy village girl unprepared to suddenly train alongside other apprentices from backgrounds as low as the dirty slums of Caldrein's cities and as high as the halls of aristocratic power. Yet the war is eroding the norms and traditions that the Caldran people have long considered part of their national mythos, and the tensions within the confederacy that have long simmered under the surface - race, class, community, identity - are slowly but surely dividing its people, and Neianne must grow and discover who she really is, even as the war that she is steadfastly training for comes to its inexorable end... On the Road to Elspar is a fantasy quest - a work of interactive fiction wherein readers get to vote on what happens next at critical junctures - that is the first entry in a story that follows Neianne of Caelon, which first began on July 20, 2016. Originally a three-part in medias res prologue to a larger story titled On the Elsparian Road, it was eventually decided that this section - which covers Neianne's three years at Faulkren Academy - become its own independent story due to length, structural, and accessibility reasons. Despite this being a reader interactive work of fiction, due to logistical and verification concerns, voting will only be counted on its thread on the forum Sufficient Velocity, where this story originally began. As such, the content here on Royal Road serves as a story-only archive. You are, of course, entirely welcome to enjoy On the Road to Elspar as a conventional work of fiction, just as you are welcome to comment, discuss, and provide critique. But if you would like to participate in the voting, then I would be honored to welcome you on Sufficient Velocity. To facilitate accessibility and to ensure the best reading experience, this story-only version of On the Road to Elspar will be updated at a periodic pace, even though further content exists, so as to not overwhelm new readers on Royal Road. If you enjoy this story, wish to binge it, and/or want to participate in voting immediately, you may of course read all additional content via the link provided above. This paragraph will be removed once the content on Royal Road catches up with what has already been posted in its original thread. Cover artwork by DreamSyndd.
