Lauft: Lets see what you are up to.
--- Chapter 42 ---
Elias: Ame, what happened to your finger.
Ame: Oh it's nothing, blasted through it.
Elias: … What?
Ame: Nevermind don't worry about it. Look up there, is that Creit and Kogo?
Elias: Yah… Wait who's the other guy?
An expressionless kid in a white jacket, and little armor, stands before the 4 of them. He wears an eye patch.
Creit: So, who's the runt?
Kogo: Dunno.
The kids head drifts over to look at Creit. He slowly lifts his hand to him.
Creit: Huh?
All of a sudden, Creit bursts backwards into the wall behind him. Leaving the wall with a crater. He falls out of the crater to the floor.
Creit: Damn. I expected Tenyi, but not the telekinesis.
Creit gets up and brushes himself off. He pulls out his dice. It starts to float above his hand, and he brings it around, shoving it in his chest. A glowing translucent “20” glows in front of his chest.
Creit: You ready?
???: Heh, hell yah.
A voice squeaks, forms somewhere unknown
Creit: Good.
Creit crosses his arms, flinging them to his sides, releasing a blast as orange energy cloaks him, and hardens into what looks like a superhero suit. And what previously seemed like an edgy person turned into an upright person who would save anyone.
Creit: Now! Evildoer! You're going down for the crime you committed!
He runs in, and as he does the 20 rapidly changes numbers, from 1-20. The kid lifts his hand to him again. The number lands on a 19. To the kids surprise, he moves in a perfect motion, not giving up pursuit of his goal and dodges his push. Creit gets in real close as the numbers begin to spin again. He punches in creating tremendous force, but it's stopped but an inch from the kid's body, like hitting a barrier. The kid lifts his hand to Creits head.

Sirius: Begone.
Creit is launched back towards the group. He punches his hand into the ground and stops himself from going too far. He gets up and they all look at this kid.
Creit: The kid has a force field or sumthin. I couldn't land a hit on the guy.
Ame: I have an idea. Hit em with everything you got while I prepare.
They nod. Elias summons his daggers, the black one disappearing as he runs in with the white one. Creit runs in and goes to punch, and Kogo’s bones form claws on the back of his hands. He runs in slashing. Sirius, being hit by a swift teleporting black knife, Elias rapidly slashing with the white one, Creits insanely strong punches, and Kogos bone slashes, he fights back by blasting energy to send them back. Eventually Ame finishes her preparation. She wields a large metal morphic rifle that looks charged up.
Ame: DUCK!
They all look at Ame, and jump away.
Ame: Metal Morph! Ranged Style: Piercing Crack Shot!
A green bullet launches at incredible speed toward his head. It opposes the force field, punching inward, and Sirius is getting pushed back a bit. As he is he puts both hands up and tries to force the bullet to the side. Tilting his head, the shield eventually cracks and breaks, just barely missing his head. The rest of the barrier drops as he stumbles back.
Sirius: Why you.
Sirius lifts his hand, they all flinch but he brings it to the back of his head. He clicks the eyepatch off. It tumbles to the floor, and everyone is filled with an uneasy feeling. He slowly opens his eyes, and pouring out is a black smog that floats to the ground. Sirius reaches towards his eyes and draws something shiny from it. He pulls a sword from his eye, which obviously would not have fit in there.

Sirius: Caladbolg, Form 2: Void Orb
A black ball with purple electricity flowing around it is generated at the tip of the blade. He swings the blade causing it to be thrown. When it hits the ground, it expands consuming everything it touches, before shrinking into nothing. Everyone barely dodged it due to its range.
Elias: Everyone! His barrier is dropped, and the thing can only be thrown so far. Fall back and use ranged attacks!
Everyone nods. They fall back and get in position. Kogo puts his hands forward, fingers curled slightly to point at Sirius. Creit stands up, as his suit glows orange and whirls around, its color shifts to green and takes the form of a different suit. Ame prepares her minigun, and Elias takes off his jacket to reveal a large green symbol on his chest.
Elias: Now, FIRE!
Kogo: Bone Technique: Fingertip Blaster!
Multiple fingertip bones start to fire out of his hands.
Creit: Magic Suit: Thousand Beams!
He crosses his hands, making a large magical seal form. The numbers on his chest stop at 16, and thousands of smaller beams are created and fired.
Ame: Metal Morph! Ranged Style: Bullet hell!
A bullet hell is released from the mini gun, launching many bullets at the opponent.
Elias: Body Seals, Master Seal Style: Forced Explosion!
Hundreds of small knives erupt from the seal on his chest. All these attacks aimed and trained on Sirius.
Sirius: Caladbolg, Form 3: Black hole.
He lifts the blade up to the sky, a black orb grows to the size of a basketball. The air around swirls violently into it. All of their attacks join the rotation, before being completely absorbed and destroyed. They stand shocked at their assault being so easily nullified. The hole shrinks into nothing.
Sirius: Caladbolg, Form 1: Void Blade
Black energy flows around the blade. He runs in towards Ame. He goes to slash across, she backs up and raises her gun to block. The sword slashes right through it, like butter. No. It deleted everything in between. She swiftly dodges back, reconfiguring her gun to compensate for the lack of material. Creits suit shifts to a light blue one. He dashes in at incredible speed.
Creit: Everyone! Attack at once!
Everyone looks confused but they nod. Creit has an odd charisma to him, a sense of leadership that commands authority. The number swiftly changes and lands on 20. Creit starts to glow. Sirius starts to look back but at incomprehensible speeds Creit appears before him, and jumps forward, slamming Sirius into the ground, pinning him. Creit jumps out of the way, Sirius stunned temporarily. Following is an all out attack. Ame pulls her gun apart into two one handed shotguns.
Ame: Metal Morph! Ranged Style: Burst Fire!
Many bullets rocket out into Sirius’s back. He utters a sound of momentary pain.
Kogo: Bone Technique: RIB SHOT!
His chest rustles before his ribs fire out of his body and skewer Sirius.
Elias: Dagger of light Amaterasu, and dagger of darkness Tsukyomi, finishing move: ECLIPSE
Amaterasu sheds light while Tsukuyomi sheds darkness, causing both blades to disappear and start to rapidly slash the opponent, until he stops moving.
Elias: Is he dead?
Sirius’s wounds start to heal themselves, despite the fact he should be dead. Kogo reacts quickly and plugs the holes with his bone to stop it from healing.
Kogo: You guys go on ahead, I'll make sure this guy can't move if he's not gonna die, or at least wait until he bleeds out.
Creit: Ok.

The Shadow Paradigm - Book 1: Project Orb Weaver

But when they encounter the mysterious Shiakar Paradigm Society, a clash of paradigms ensues. Although both groups are aiming to make humanity stand stronger, their ideals and methods could not be further apart. Between the trio's optimistic yet naive ideals, and the SPS's tried-and-true surgical methods, determining the answer which methods can better humanity is a struggle that both parties must resolve in their own ways... Welcome to the 7th revision of my 10+ years ongoing novel trilogy. This revision took out some flawed plot concepts to re-introduce a more down-to-earth, film noir-like ambience, where a battle of wits is what will determine the outcome. It also added instead more in-depth expansion into the lives and mindsets of the characters, especially the heroes (a missing factor in older versions). Third-view limited storytelling was also introduced more prominently over my favoured third-view omnipotent, with each chapters concentrating as much as possible on a single character's point of view instead of head-hopping. So I shall begin uploading the chapters as I finish them; they're edited as much as I can, but there'll most likely be some typos and mistakes. As always, I welcome your comments and critiques, and I hope you enjoy reading that story as much as I did creating it! A parting poem to introduce the story (translated from its original French version): Credit: Les Mots, Mylene Farmer & Seal Firmly, the sky writhes When a mouth begets a death There, I will give my life to hear you To tell you the most tender words When all becomes all alone I'll break my life for a song And to lives that stoop to notice mine I know I will say goodbye But a fraction of this life I would give anything, anytime The universe has its mysteries Words are our lives You could kill a life with words Soul, how would it feel? If our lives are so fragile Words are mysteries Words of feelings Words of love, a temple If one swept the world away One could touch the universe I will tell you how the sun rose high We could with a word become one And for all those words that hurts us There are those that touches us Which illuminates, touches the infinity Even if nothingness exists For a fraction on this life We will give anything, anytime The universe has its mysteries Words are our lives We could kill a life with words Soul, how would it feel? If our lives are so fragile Words are mysteries Words of feelings Words of love, a temple
