《God Of Cheat》Chapter 6: Unlucky Goddess [3]

Shen Zuobi did what he was told and sat down on the opposite side of Elizabeth. He was to hesitant too look at Elizabeth so he stared at the floor.
Elizabeth on the other hand was staring at Shen Zuobi like she was analyzing him.
"Eat." Elizabeth remembered why she called him over to the table and stopped staring at and began playing with the glass ball again.
Shen Zuobi stopped shivering and sweating a little bit after knowing she called him over but he became confused on another thing.
"Um... why do I have to eat? I thought this was my spirit body, not my real body."
Elizabeth rolled the glass ball around for a more few seconds before stopping and answering Shen Zuobi's question. "Your spirit body is connected to your real body. Anything you do here will be transferred over to your real body. For example when you ran all the way over here, your real body became healthier and more in shape.
Since you fell asleep in the real world, you've not been fed by anyone yet so you should eat if you don't want to starve to death before you even start your journey."
All of Shen Zuobi's hesitant to eat before had disappear and he began eating the food.
He ate at a fast speed. Even though it wasn't even 1% the speed of how Elizabeth ate, it was still faster than other humans from Earth. It was as though this was his first time eating in forever.
He finished his food and was about to stand up and wash the plates but before he could, Elizabeth told him, "Stop. You're considered a guest, for now at least. I'll wash the plates."
"No I can do it... Elizabeth." Shen Zuobi was still scared of Elizabeth and the tremendous amount of pressure she could put on him and she looked like she wasn't even trying her best. He didn't want to seem like someone who was incapable or something so he wanted to wash his own dish.
Elizabeth looked at him and scoffed a little bit. Shen Zuobi didn't notice because he was too busy shivering and sweating. "If I say that I'll wash the dishes, then I'll wash the dishes."
"Eee. Yes ma... Elizabeth. Thank you very much."
Shen Zuobi handed over the dishes and Elizabeth began washing them after bringing them over to the sink.
"Do you have anymore questions?" Elizabeth knew that he was still confused because obviously he didn't know anything before getting here as Earth had almost no cultivators and even those cultivators were considered as ants to other worlds.
Shen Zuobi was hesitant to ask his questions but he really wanted to know the answers to them so he began asking his questions.
"How did I get here? It's never happened before when I fell asleep. Can you tell me... if you want to."
"The other times when you slept, where were you?"
"Ah... I wasn't born yet that's why. Next question... if you want to answer another one that is."
"...say it..."
"Ok, what happened to me when I came into this... mansion, that caused me to become unconscious?"

"Oh... that was me."
"That was you..." Shen Zuobi began sweating because he was looking at her the whole time when he came in and she wasn't even doing anything other than walking. "Why did you do it?"
"Revenge."
Shen Zuobi almost spat out blood when he heard her answer. He of course didn't know what he did that would make her want revenge on him.
Elizabeth, as if she was reading his mind told him, "Don't worry, it wasn't because of what you did but someone else."
Shen Zuobi felt relief but another question struck him, "If it was someone else you wanted revenge on, why would you attack me instead of him?"
"Because it was also your fault."
"What?" Shen Zuobi was even more confused as a few moments ago it wasn't his fault but now it is.
"I'll tell you what happened because I can't have you confused all day. So there are people known as Re:Gamers and they are, self explainatory really. They are reincarnated people who have a game system, like me, that goes into different worlds and conquer them."
"Then what's the use of having them reincarnate because aren't their world similar to the world they reincarnated in? Can't they just conquer their own world?"
"They could try but then they would die because those worlds have their own God or Goddess protecting them from being conquered. The world we bring them to don't have a God or Goddess. They become the God or Goddess"
"Oh..."
"Let me get back to explaining. One of my ex-friend, Hodrid, he was given a job to turn someone into a Re:Gamer, and that someone was on Earth."
"Me?"
"Nope. Re:Gamers become reincarnated by a book. The book is most of the time, as you Earthen calls it, Wuxia novels and we planted one of them in your house for a certain person to read."
"If it wasn't me who was supposed to reincarnate then why put it out in the open."
"Because Hodrid knew that you don't like reading after observing your whole family for a month and assumed you wouldn't grab the book when you saw it. And of course he was wrong. A whole month and the first time you decide to read is when you're not supposed to.
So its Hodrid's fault for putting the book out in the open and your's because, well, you read it."
Shen Zuobi almost wanted to laugh because he was just told that he wasn't the chosen one and that he was just a mistake. "Who was supposed to reincarnate?"
"Your father. Don't worry, he was given the book, by Caleass this time around and reincarnated into a different world."
"I wasn't worried. If it was Hodrid's fault then why are you here?"
Elizabeth stopped washing the plates and that caused Shen Zuobi to panic. "Because he put the blame on me. I was punished for my mistake and became a System. Systems aren't supposed to be like me, they are not supposed to have a real body."
"A real body? Isn't this your spirit body?"

"I wish."
"Then who's doing the talking in the real world."
"That's a little difficult to explain. That's me, but inside your brain."
"Wait what?"
"Its inside of your brain and its a piece of my soul. It's the piece where all the knowledge is stored so it can answer any questions you ask it but it won't have any emotions.
Thats why it's name is system and mine is Elizabeth."
"Then wouldn't you lose all of your knowledge?"
"Do you think I have only one soul? Hahaha who do you think I am?"
"That's the thing, who are you?"
Elizabeth looked at Shen Zuobi for a moment before sighing and drying her hands. It was amazing how she still wasn't done with those two dishes. Elizabeth stared at him from the kitchen and turned around to a cabinet near the sink and grabbed a book. She took it out and close down the cabinet.
Elizabeth turned around, facing Shen Zuobi and threw the book at him.
Shen Zuobi stood up, and like a tiger, used his reflex and grabbed the book in midair. He sat back down and looked at the book. Just like the book when he reincarnated, this book had no name.
"Um... excuse me... how come this book don't have a name?"
Elizabeth almost laughed at that question and held it in before replying. "It does have a name. But..."
"But what?"
"But you're too weak to read it. You need to be at my level to read it at least."
"Your level? Is that figuratively or physically?" Shen Zuobi noticed from her words that she was speaking as if she was also a Re:Gamer.
"You're pretty smart but no." Elizabeth completely shut down his thoughts.
"Oh... I guess I'll just get to reading then." Shen Zuobi was still embarrassed by what she said so he avoided the KO by reading the book. He opened up the book and there was only a single page. It was a really thick page. It was thick enough to make the book as thick as someone's hand.
'Whoever wrote this is wasting wood.' The page itself wasn't special but the context inside them was special.
[Goddess of Air: Agape, Gala, Raine, Najie]
All of the words on the page was written in gold and it was glittering and shining.
That was everything on the page. The whole line only covered up 2% of the whole front page. Shen Zuobi was stupefied and asked, "How come you gave me a book about the Goddess of Air and how come it only took up a little bit of the front page?"
Elizabeth didn't answer the question but instead asked another. "Why do you think I gave you a book about Goddess when you asked me who am I?"
Shen Zuobi quickly figured out the answer. "You are a Goddess as well?"
"Correct."
'She's a Goddess! Crap I have been talking to a Goddess this whole time. I'm going to be cursed in the future, oh no. What have I been doing keeping a Goddess inside my spirit world. I should be bowing down right now. I'm going to do it right now.'
She Zuobi stood up from his seat and pushed in the chair. He looked straight at Elizabeth and got lower towards the ground. He was almost down to the ground when Elizabeth said, "Get up."
"Eee. Yes Goddess Elizabeth."
He stood up and looked down at the ground.
"I may be a Goddess but I'm still your... system... so stop acting like that."
"Yes Godde... I mean... yes Elizabeth."
"Stop saying yes for Fritz sake."
'Fritz sake... as in Christ sake?'
"Yes... I'm sorry... I mean okay Elizabeth."
Elizabeth was sighing and the frustration could be physically seen on her face. She was thinking in her head, 'I thought he was human, this is more like training a dog. I want to leave. I want to die. I don't want to be here for another second.'
"What is this mansion?" The whole time that Shen Zuobi was in the mansion, he was wondering what it was.
"This place is your imagination. Anything you want you can put in."
"Awesome."
"If you can afford it."
"Not awesome. What do you mean afford it?"
"When you are in the spirit world, you have spirit coins. Spirit coins aren't real coins but they are more similar to a small ball of energy around the size of an ant."
"How many coins do I have."
"You are automatically given 100,000 spirit coins when you enter the spirit world."
"Awesome."
"Which I used to buy the mansion, cars, and all of the furnitures."
"Not awesome. So you can use my coins as well? What's the use of buying things in the spirit world."
"It increases the productivity when you work out and train. You can earn spirit coins by doing quests in the real world."
"So that's another use of quests. What can I buy with a 100 spirit coin?"
"Thats 10,000 USD in Earth so, a lot."
"What in the world?"
"Anyway, the method transfer is almost over so you should get ready to go back into the real world."
"And what are you going to do, Elizabeth?"
"Me, I'm going to rest. I haven't answered this much questions in a few minutes in my whole life."
"Sorry about that."
"Whatever. Just get ready."
"How?"
"And another question. Just do whatever you want. Ready your mind for the transferring not your body so it doesn't matter what you do as long as you're ready."
"Can't I stay here longer?"
"You could but you should probably leave right now."
"Why?"
"Just trust me. See you when you fall asleep later."
"Okay cool. Oh yeah I have one more..." before Shen Zuobi could ask his final question, he woke up from his sleep.
"Finally he's gone. Good thing I didn't tell him what is going to happen or else he probably wouldn't leave. Hahaha this will be a funny thing to see."

Sorcery in Boston
The timid daughter of some of the greatest spellcasters ever to have lived has found herself in another world, courtesy of magic gone awry. In Boston, Massachusetts, in the year 1935, she finds some kind souls in a hard era. In the heart of the Great Depression, as war looms around the corner, she seeks to find her place, and must come to terms with both who she is and what she truly desires. Author's Notes: Release Note: I recently realized what the hold up is. My current mental state is not compatible with the planned ending. If I wrote the ending according to what currently feels right, it will be a wretched, cruel ending that feels monstrously unfair and invalidates the work of the various characters... because that's how my life feels at the moment. The planned ending is coming out hollow and awkward, no matter how I write it, and so I've been bashing my head. I will finish it, once I manage to either brute force something decent out, or once my head gets screwed on straight. Audience: This story is not for young children - it contains some profanity, sexual content, violence, gore, and significant adult themes. Most of these are handled delicately enough not to upset teens or adults (hopefully), hence the lack of relevant tags, but it is nonetheless unsuitable for youth. It's fairly slow paced, and focused on the development of very human, very flawed individuals. Length / Completion Estimates: The outline currently involves two books. Book 1 is expected to be done with Chapter 43. It'll probably be completely finished by sometime in March of this year. I expect to move on to the far-more-lighthearted Of Gods and Dungeons (currently in progress / on hiatus). Afterwards, I may decide to redo Book 1, or write Book 2, or actually start sharing the story most dear to me, that I've been working on for several years now. Draft 1: Please be aware that this is first draft material. I do intend to come back to do a second draft after the story is complete. If anyone notices any issues whatsoever with the story, please let me know (pm, etc) so that I can improve the second draft. Writer's Pledge: I've taken the Writer's Pledge, meaning I'm commiting to completing this story. I'm a proud member of WriTE, a group dedicated to finishing stories. It will be done! Behind the Scenes notes: This picture was commissioned from an inked artist by the name of DanP. Up until the time of the protagonist's arrival, history has proceeded as before. Some places and characters have been borrowed from wikipedia entries of interesting figures from the time. I will make note in the chapter comments when such things come up. Naturally, I've taken a great deal of liberty with them. In interest of respecting individuals, I've either attempted to portray them as accurately as possible, or modified them sufficiently enough that they're simply an inspiration, instead of a real portrayal. I've attempted to be as accurate to the era as possible, but I'm not a historian. If you're aware of inaccuracies, please, bring them to my attention so that I can correct them.
