Chapter Four: Info Dump
Now that I had dealt with that, it was finally time to break through to Magic Stage. Magic Stage was much stronger than Spirit, so much so that Magic Stage experts were considered Ancestors of clans sometimes.
This reminds me, I need to go through all their memories. A lot to go through but then again I am a tree. Not like I can go anywhere. I think I’ll first learn about where I am right now.
The city of Birthm had a Mayor who was a Low Tier Magic Rank expert. This was considered pretty strong as the King was only Normal Tier Magic Rank, but there was a big gap between the Low Tier and Normal Tier. The Nether Bear was a Low Tier Magic Rank beast as well so once I broke through it would probably think that I was contesting it. If I could get it to back off or kill it that would be great.
Killing it seems unlikely since it was in the Low Tier Magic Rank for much longer than me. Warding it off was more plausible and would do me good since I would get my own territory. Having territory isn’t bad since it would mean that normal beasts would know that they were entering a place they shouldn’t. If I could kill the Nether Bear then I would be able to break through to Normal Tier. The King would notice and probably tell the Emperor. By that time the Forest would e named after me and be an Empire rank danger.
Being an Empire rank danger meant that the city would have to be moved. This was because usually, an Empire rank danger could wipe out a whole Kingdom. The fact that this was a forest also made it worse because that meant beast waves were a thing. A single beast wave from an Empire rank danger could wipe out a whole Kingdom let alone a city.

The Empire could deal with it since their Emperor was a King Tier Magic Rank expert and they had an Emperor Tier Magic Rank ancestor hiding somewhere. They were trying to break through to Magi Rank. Magi was one stage higher than Magic and only Ancestors were that strong. A few Emperors from other Empires were that strong but there wasn’t much known to a Nobles from such a small city.
That was all the human knew, I did compare it to the memories of the other people. There were a few other pieces of information like Professions and names of other animals. Names of the other cities as well. There were 33 cities in the Kingdom of Lin. With each kingdom having 30-40 cities and there being 13 kingdoms in the Empire. That meant there were about 390 cities in the whole Empire. I didn’t care about them since I wasn’t gonna have any use for them to begin with. There were plants as well that looked interesting but they weren’t native to this forest.
The human did have a meditation method so maybe I should try it. I don’t think it was gonna work since I didn’t have a human body. It never hurt to study things though. My knowledge of the human body wasn’t week since I do remember most of the stuff from high school.
To use the method all you had to do was attune the Mana flow to your blood flow. So basically you made your cells absorb Mana and well as Oxygen. This would make you unconsciously always be growing stronger over time. It did have a single flaw though, the heart didn’t purify the Mana like it did your blood. Also, it threw your body into a state where your cells couldn’t kill the red blood cells. This caused your body to feel hot since your red blood cells were binding to the rules as much as they should. If you had the Mana go into your other cells as well then you would be able to have an overall stronger body.

I didn’t have to worry about this though since my way was perfect. It sent the Mana to every cell. It made a new cell I liked to call a Mana cell, it’s job was to carry Mana around the body. The other cells all had their normal jobs which kept my body perfectly fine even if the Mana cells became corrupted. With the human's way, they used the Mitocandria as a way to store the Mana. If those cells got corrupted then their whole body fail. My body did need to make a new cell to kill the Mana cell as well since if it couldn’t kill them then they would just take over my whole body. These cells were Mana sucking which means that they sucked out of the Mana cells. Once the Mana cells Mana was depleted it died.
These Mana sucking cells were called Killer Mana cells or Killer M cells. These cells could be killed the same way a Killer T could and worked basically like a Killer T but for Mana instead of Pathogens. This would keep my body all around perfectly fine if the Mana cells got corrupted since the Mana sucking cells expelled the Mana out. The Killer M cells couldn’t hold Mana so they expelled it out of my body through the leaves.
Human bodies could fix their problem by getting a Mana core but for some reason, they liked their Mana either spread out through their body or just hovering around their body. Mages were the ones with the hovering Mana and Warriors were the ones with it inside their body.
It all was complicated and I know for a fact that hundreds of scientists would love to study my cells and Mana. Not just Biologits either since Mana is a new type of Fundamental force. Chemists would study the plants and Manas effect of other elements like Mad man. Earth would be turned upside down by Mana, but sadly this wasn’t Earth. This was Northea as the natives called it. A world of swords and magic, dragons and fairy. Everything that was in fairytales could become reality here. Imagination was one of the only limits, the other was power. A power that no one could fathom, an uncontested power.
A power which I was gonna get. Not to return to Earth, but to bring Eath to Northea. To open the eyes of the people on Earth, to show them that there are still other things that Space to explore.

Shaman
*** Let's get this clear now: the MC is a trans woman. This is not a gender-bender. It's set in a fantasy world but the exploration of identity and gender is reality-based. Not a joke, not a kinky turn-on. If this is a problem for you, please just act like an adult and look elsewhere for something to read. *** Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 2 x 5*, 1 x 4.5*, 1 x 3*, no reasons offered. A human shaman and healer returns from several years with the mysterious shyani, accompanied by her shapeshifting puma best friend. A valued friend, from her previous identity as a male student physician, has acquired an old shyani book, and extremists will not tolerate its presence in human hands. But back in human lands, the question arises: which world does she belong in? Generations ago, human explorers found a continent inhabited by an utterly alien culture of shapeshifting weyres and the shyani, humanoids who prefer dusk and dawn. A truce of sorts was eventually reached: humans claimed the rich lowlands, and the shyani and weyres retain the highlands. Along the border, practicality often rules, but on either side, old grudges linger in some hearts. As a student physician, Corin tried to take his own life, unable to bear the countless tiny wounds inflicted over twenty-one years of lying to himself in order to be, or pretend to be, socially acceptable. At the last improbable instant, intervention came, in the form of a spirit fox, who led him away from the existence he’d known in the lowlands and into the highlands. There, a puma weyre rescued him, and a shyani shaman helped him find his true self and offered a rebirth, a life with no more lies, and an important role to fill. Now a shaman and healer in her own right, Vixen who was once Corin learns that the one human who mattered to her in her previous life, then a fellow University student, has come into possession of an old shyani book, and the more fanatical shyani and weyres will stop at nothing to reclaim it and punish Jared. Even though it means going back into the lowlands and facing Jared as a woman, she can’t bear to just look the other way. This should be a short visit, just long enough to see the book into the proper hands and make sure Jared will not be killed for having it, and then she can return to the shyani community that has accepted her as their shaman. And, of course, her feline best friend Dayr insists on coming with her. But Jared is now a Lord, with considerable wealth and power, and his response to her presence isn’t one she expected. After years living with the shyani, she sees everything around her from a new perspective, and that makes it difficult to keep to the plan of making as few waves as possible. As an honoured guest in a highborn house, with only Jared aware that she has ever been anyone else, Vixen finds herself questioning where she belongs: with Dayr and the shyani, who accept her gender without question but have to make allowances for her differences, or with humans, in the culture she grew up in even though her past would mean a major scandal? *** Trigger warning: there are scenes of Vixen's previous life, which include some difficult moments and culminate in an (obviously unsuccessful) attempt at suicide before she finds her true self and a better life. Please be careful! This is the ONLY reason for the "Traumatising Content" tag.*** Complete stand-alone novel, 96K words. Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
