《The Adonis Mission》Chapter 3 - The Invitation

Thursday July 5th

Cape Neddick Maine

That evening as Alexis prepared for bed, she thought back to earlier in the evening, when Bon had walked her home.

As they came through the trees onto her property, she'd tripped again and he caught her in his strong arms holding her tightly. Their faces were inches apart and she wanted so badly to kiss him again.

Bon knew it too. He wanted to do more than kiss her however. But letting her go much to her disappointment he took her hand instead as they then crossed her lawn reaching the edge of her well lit terrace.

As they walked by the pool area Bon turned his head and saw a large calico long haired cat laying on a chaise lounge.

The cat sat up suddenly and stared at this new intruder with her beautiful gold eyes.

He looked at her as he passed by wondering if this furry large guy was going to attack him.

They stepped onto the terrace then and Bon saw another large Tortoiseshell cat who was curled up against the house wall in his favorite corner who only acknowledged Bon by opening one eye, staring briefly, then closing it again.

He said, looking at her felines, "So you're a cat lover?"

"That's right," she said noticing his expression. "Is it true what I read, that you hate cats?"

"Nah," Bon said, "I just don't get into animals or pets that much."

"You must have been deprived when you were a child then," Alexis said feeling a little sorry for him.

He didn't say anything and she said, "Pets can be a great comfort to people."

"Maybe," he said, "But I think they appeal mostly to kids and old people."

She laughed shortly and asked, "What am I then?"

He grinned and said, "Well there are exceptions of course."

"Pets are NOT just for kids and old people," she informed him. "They comfort people of all ages and help make one's loneliness more bearable." She turned her face away then as if she were lost in thought.

He walked over to her. He placed his hands on her shoulders and said, "Hey," as she looked at him. "You okay?"

"I'm fine," she said and impulsively she reached up and kissed him softly on the corner of his mouth. She said softly, "Thanks for asking." He smiled as his body flooded with pleasure.

Just then Hedwig made her appearance walking out of the cat door. She walked over towards Bon until she was a couple of feet away. Then she sat and gazed at him with large bi-colored eyes.

He stared at the long haired white cat and said, "Another one? How many cats DO you have?

"Just the three," she replied. Then she related to him how she'd come by them. He listened, totally enchanted by just the sound of her voice.

Afterwards she said, "I guess I need to go in. Thanks so much for dinner and the tour of your awesome house. I had a great time!"

"I want to see you again Alex," he said.

"I'd like that," she replied and then turned to go but Bon held her and quickly bent his head kissing her on the lips firmly. She kissed him back but as their tongues touched briefly, she pulled away.

He said, "See ya later beautiful." He turned and started to walk across the terrace, but she said, "Bon?" He turned back with a question on his face.

"Would you like to come in for a bit?" she asked. "I could give you a tour of my little house."

He said, "Well, it's not so little but I like what I've seen so far, but yeah I'd love to hang around for awhile."

They went inside and right off Alexis introduced him to her housekeeper, Marie. Marie's eyes got wide as she recognized him but just said, "Nice to meet you sir." Bon told her it was a pleasure as well.

Then Alexis took him through the house and when they got to her bedroom, he flopped down on her bed staring at her with a gleam in his eye. She said laughing shortly, "Make yourself at home!"

He said, "Your bed's comfy, why don't you join me?"

She laughed again and shook her head, not believing the stuff he came up with. However she didn't move and said, "Sorry, tour's over. " She turned to go out the door then.

Bon feigning great disappointment, though it wasn't far from the truth, reluctantly got up from her bed and followed her out the door watching the way her hips swayed back and forth as she walked in front of him.

Once downstairs they headed back to the living room. She told him to make himself comfortable and she would be back in a moment.

Bon however was looking at the pictures that were on the mantel over the fireplace. There was a thirty something couple there and Bon realized it must be her parents as he could see the resemblance.

Alexis walked back in the room then and saw him looking at the picture. "That's my Mom and Dad," she told him. "My Mother died when my sister and I were 15. And not too long after my Father disappeared," she said looking a bit forlorn.

He set the picture back and walked over to her. He pulled her close and said, "Do you want to talk about it?"

She shook her head no and said, "There's really not much to say. Neither Liv nor myself has ever been able to find him. He could be dead for all we know."

"I'm sorry," he said. It must be rough not having your parents around."

Then he said, "Speaking of your sister though, I know from what I read that you and her had a severe falling out a few months ago."

He felt Alexis stiffen in his arms. She said, "Bon if you don't mind I'd rather not talk about Olivia,"and gently disengaged herself from his arms. She walked over to the sofa and sat down. He realized he'd hit a nerve wishing he hadn't brought the subject up.

A second later he joined her. After a moment of silence she said, "I asked Marie to make us some coffee, is that alright?"

He thanked her and soon the housekeeper entered with a tray and set it down on the coffee table, as the two then poured their hot beverages and sat talking. She had asked him about some of his philanthropic activities and he talked enthusiastically about his projects. Alexis loved listening to that sexy husky soft voice he had and it sent tiny tremors of pleasure down her spine.

Soon an hour had passed and he glanced at his watch and then stood up and said he had to go. "Rye will probably be wondering what the hell happened to me. I promised him we'd stop by tonight and visit a mutual friend of ours who lives near here."

She walked outside with him then and he noticed that her cats were basically in the same position as before with the exception of the white one which had joined the other one on the chaise lounge. They might as well be stuffed animals he thought.

He bent and kissed her again on the mouth gently and then turned to go but then he stopped and said, glancing at her cats, "By the way, what are their names?"

Alexis chuckled, feeling a rush of pleasure that he was taking an interest in her pets said, pointing towards the pool, "The Calico one over there is Nymphadora Tonks, Tonks for short. She's a year old."

Bon said, "Tonks?" He looked at the calico cat, thinking that he had thought she was a boy. Tonks was now laying down on the chaise lounge but still staring over at him.

"The one over in the corner, she said pointing to the Tortoiseshell, is 'Mad-Eye Moody, with his shorter name being Moody. He's the daddy and is a pure bred Maine Coon cat," she said proudly.

"And the furry white one with the different colored eyes?" he asked.

"That's Hedwig," Alexis said smiling. "She's a Turkish Angora and the Mother of Tonks."

Bon said, "Nicknamed Wiggy I'll bet!"

Alexis laughed loudly and said, "No. She's just plain Hedwig."

"So you're a Harry Potter fan, then?" he asked.

Alexis laughed and said, "Yeah, a big one I'm afraid."

He shook his head, laughing softly and turned to go.

"What about you? Have you seen the movies, read any of the books?" she asked, curious.

"Well, I haven't read any of the books but I've seen the movies. My kids are huge fans, so I watched the movies along with them."

"You're a good father," she said softly, admiration in her voice.

Bon, surprising himself, blushed. Her praise of his fatherly skills moved him.

"Do you like children Alex?" he asked, trying to keep his face expressionless.

"I love children," she said smiling. He smiled that famous smile again and winked. Then he turned and left the terrace heading home...

Alexis her thoughts returning to the present, slipped between her bed sheets and after a second her thoughts returned to him. He was really quite something. Handsome, sexy, funny and oh so charming. And when he touched her he made her feel like no one ever had before.

Not long after, she fell asleep with a smile on her face....

******

As soon as Alexis was asleep, Thalia concentrated then on the invisible hourglass sitting in the corner of the room. Within seconds Kronos appeared in a swirl of light, his cape billowing briefly.

Tonks had been curled up on the foot of the bed and when Kronos appeared she stood up and arched her back and hissed.

Kronos waved his hand, as time stood still. The window had been opened, the sheer curtains billowing and blowing from the wind and they abruptly froze in the air not moving. The second hand on the bedside table stopped at exactly 12:05:30. Tonks too was frozen, her back arched, mouth open in a snarl like a macabre statue of feline fear.

"Rise Thalia," Kronos commanded.

Thalia sat up and swung her legs over the side of the bed. She said, "How am I able to do this?"

"Your host is sleeping, at least her mind and spirit are. You are just using her body. Surely you knew you were capable of this if you studied your lessons in 'Special Powers Advanced class,' Kronos commented.

Thalia cast her eyes down not wanting to admit that this particular lesson had slipped her mind.

She grabbed a robe laying on the foot of the bed as she was quite naked and modesty was something even the Gods practiced, on occasion.

She put on the robe then and they left the room walking downstairs. They walked through the house until they got to the door leading to the Terrace. Kronos walked right through it but Thalia being in a physical body opened the door and stepped out. Both of them strolled across the terrace heading for the Yorks.

"So," Kronos said, "What seems to be troubling you Goddess?"

At first she told him about the concern she had that her host had noticed her additional eye coloration.

Kronos said, "That shouldn't be a problem. She will see her physician and he will explain that as humans get older, eye color can change somewhat. He will assure her it is nothing to be concerned about," Kronos told her.

"Was there anything else my dear?" he asked and they both stopped as they had reached the edge of the cliffs.

"Yes," she said. "She has expressed concern that she healed very quickly from those minor wounds she recently received."

"Why is that a problem?" Kronos asked with a frown. "As your Mother and I saw, you handled that quite well, when you sent forth the suggestion of her Grandmother's name."

"But the mortal noticed how fast the scratches healed as well," Thalia remarked. "Couldn't this create future problems?"

"Thalia," Kronos said, "Do not concern yourself with things that have yet to happen. Right now, all the Mortal can see is her beauty, her sex appeal and sweetness. He is becoming very enamored with her. The mission is going along perfectly and your Mother and I are quite proud of you," he praised her. Thalia felt warmed by his compliment.

Feeling more reassured then, she followed Kronos as the two then made their way back to the house, and upstairs to the bedroom.

As Thalia removed the robe and climbed between the sheets, Kronos reassured her one last time saying to put her fears to rest, that everything was advancing just as they'd hoped.

He then waved his hand and the clock's second hand started moving again. The curtains were blowing as before and Tonks, whose body then relaxed, meowed and jumped off the bed, scrambling underneath it.

Kronos in a tiny burst of light disappeared as Thalia allowed her self to relax and shortly she too joined her host in sleep....

Friday, July 6th

London, England

In another part of the world the time was 7am in the morning. A beautiful woman awoke and looking at the man next to her, carefully removed his arm from around her upper body and then climbed out of the huge bed.

She went into the bathroom and looked at herself in the mirror, grimacing. Turning on the shower and adjusting it's temperature she quickly showered.

Afterwards she dried off and then with the blow dryer she dried her long honey blond hair. Padding into the bedroom, she quietly dressed in a summer halter dress. She brushed her hair pulling it back and clamping it on both sides, leaving it cascading down her back in soft waves. She then put on her makeup going full out, adding foundation, blush, eyeliner, mascara and lipstick.

Today was the day she left for the states. She would be paying her dear little twin sister a visit whom she hadn't seen in over six months. Olivia was the oldest of the twins having been born five minutes before Alexandria had made her appearance.

Both women were stunning, though where Olivia's beauty was more out there and startling with her glam to the max look, Alexandria's beauty was more understated. Unlike Olivia, Alexandria was far more beautiful with her stunning yet quiet good looks, displaying an intelligence and a loving, nurturing nature. And Olivia knew it and had been jealous of her sister her whole life.

Yet she needed to visit Alexis. It wasn't that she missed her that much she thought, but she needed money, and Lord knows her successful little twin had quite a lot of it both from her modeling and from the sales of the trash novels she wrote.

Although Olivia too had entered the world of modeling, it didn't last, for she had gotten involved with the seamier side of the industry, getting herself hooked on drugs, and alcohol. Eventually she did clean up her act by going to rehab, but afterwards she was not in demand as she once had been.

She left the industry two years ago, and instead ended up opening a boutique in New York but her boutique eventually failed too. She soon had become one of the celebs such as Paris and Nicole, who really weren't known for having any talent, but more for being attractive young Bollywood celebs who liked to party and have their pictures taken for every celeb rag out there.

So when the boutique failed she didn't work at all the past year and still wasn't. It didn't bother her at first but it had become a problem lately.

Even though Olivia was involved with a wealthy man, Trey Florentino, he was rather stingy with his money. Oh he bought her plenty of gifts and baubles and what not, but the allowance she got wasn't enough for her expenses, clothes and jewelry. The last time she had asked him for a couple of thousand advance on her $10,000 a month allowance, he had refused, saying she needed to learn to handle her money better.

But she had outsmarted him and he had relented in the end. She had used sexual blackmail on him more or less, simply had told him every time he asked for sex that she wasn't in the mood. Finally by the third time, they had just climbed into bed, when he started to caress her and she quickly said she had a headache. He'd sighed, disgusted and getting up stark naked had walked over to the dresser reaching for his checkbook. He quickly wrote out a check for $2,000 dollars and held it up and said, "Now... How's that headache?"

She smiled and told him it had left just as quickly as it came. He came back to bed then, but when they'd made love it was obvious that something had changed between them.

Olivia had this feeling that her time was growing short with Trey. And maybe it was for the best. She had to admit she was growing tired of him. Love was something neither one of them felt for one another. It was just a sexual interlude.

She thought back to the day she had last seen Alexis. At that time she was living in an apartment in New York not far from her sister's apartment.

Alexis had a modeling shoot that day in the city and Olivia had hoped to catch her sister before she left. However she had knocked on her sister's door and when the door opened Jet stood there in the doorway, wearing only a pair of blue jeans which were unbuttoned, unzipped and open, his black hair all wild, a sleepy look on his face.

He invited Olivia in saying that Alexis had already left and they sat down and started chatting. Olivia who had always been attracted to Jet, found her eyes repeatedly going to his smooth tanned chest, bulging arm muscles, leaned toned abs and the small patch of pubic hair which was visible poking out his pants above his crotch.

Jet had started opening up to her after awhile and eventually admitted that he and her sister's relationship was in trouble. Olivia told him she was surprised to hear that and Jet suddenly got up and went over to the bar and grabbed a bottle of whiskey and two glasses.

As she drank with him, Jet admitted to Olivia that he'd come to the decision that he didn't want to get married. Not for a long time and he also didn't want kids, but he had never admitted that part to Alexis. Furthermore he didn't know how to break it to her about his feelings concerning marriage.

Olivia was secretly ecstatic as she offered her sympathies to the dark haired rocker. He had moved to the couch next to her not long after that and as they continued talking she soon found herself with his arm around her. As the liquor loosened her tongue, she boldly admitted that she had always been attracted to him and always wondered what he was like in the sack. Jet's gray eyes darkened at that and he asked her would she like to find out?

Then they moved towards each other as his hands yanked up her shirt, pulling it over her head, grabbing and pulling her bra down to her waist. He roughly caressed her full breasts, pinching her nipples as his mouth devoured her own.

Her hand slipped down inside his jeans and finding his erection, pulled it from his pants. He was huge and throbbing in her hand. Quickly she stroked him and then with a moan, he pulled away and stood up. Pulling her to her feet he picked her up and took her into the bedroom. He practically threw her on the bed as they quickly undressed.

She lay back and opened her legs wide and their coming together was explosive as his large swollen cock entered her hot wet open pussy. Bending her legs back, ankles to ears he braced himself with his hands on the backs of her thighs and started slamming his prick into her violently hard, the bed shaking and threatening to break.

She moaned loudly, lifting her ass to meet his thrusts and as she starting getting louder she screamed, "FUCK ME JET!!!! FASTER!! HARDER!! His cock was so large it was practically splitting her pussy in two but it felt so delicious, that in seconds she came screaming his name, as his cock had become a blur, he was pounding her so fast. Screaming an obscenity his hot seed erupted deep into her aching pussy as he collapsed on top of her.

However they both had been so into their intense coupling that they did not hear the opening of the door.

Suddenly Olivia turned her head and saw Alexis standing there with a shocked look on her face. Feeling Olivia stiffen, Jet turned his head and saw his fiance as well.

Quickly he rolled off of Olivia and reached for his pants as he said, "I can explain baby."

But Alexis said, "No explanation is necessary Jet." Her voice was remarkably calm, when she said it, but her eyes looked deadly. She looked at her sister and Olivia had remembered that look and would never forget it. There was utter loathing in her sister's eyes.

Alexis said, "I never want to see either of you again for as long as I live!"

She left then and that was the last time Olivia had seen her sister. As for her and Jet, that was the only time they had been together. Whatever lust demon had possessed them, had left quicker than it had arrived and they both dressed silently and Olivia turned to go.

She turned back before she had went out the door as he sat on the sofa staring at the engagement ring, Alexis had placed on the coffee table before she'd left.

She said, "I'm sorry Jet. But maybe it's for the best. Now you won't have to break it off with her after all!"

He didn't say anything just picked up the bottle of whiskey and poured another drink....

Although Olivia had spoken once on the phone to her sister, to try and tell her what Jet had told her, regarding their relationship, Alexis wouldn't give her the chance. She said she didn't want to hear anything she had to say, after all she saw what she saw with her own two eyes. They were fucking, end of story. She then called Olivia a back stabbing slut and hung up on her.

Olivia wasn't able to get a hold of her sister after that even though she tried a couple of times. She was never at home and then three weeks later when Olivia had been over at Alexis' apartment pounding on the door, a neighbor had stuck his head out of his own door and said that Alexis had moved the day before.

It was a week later that Olivia had found out that she was living somewhere in New England in a house she had inherited from their Uncle Ned. However it was at that same time that Olivia met Trey at a party that she'd attended with some friends, and when Olivia discovered he was rich, she took to him like a duck to water. From that point on, the two became an item, and Olivia put the problem with her twin on the back burner. A month later she moved to London sharing Trey's house with him and living the life of luxury.

But this time Olivia thought, when she found her sister, she would make her listen. She would tell her the truth if it was the last thing she did. That Jet had been thinking of dumping her anyway. That way Alexis would most likely forgive her and then she could hopefully get her to loan her some money.

Ready she picked up her bag and left a note on the bedside table telling Trey she would be back in a few days.

A few minutes later, the taxi had arrived and she climbed in as the driver headed for Heathrow Airport...

July 6th Friday

Cape Neddick Maine

The next morning after Alexis had gotten up, she had just finished eating a breakfast of bagels and coffee when her cell phone rang.

"Hi Ronnie!" she said seeing her number on her caller ID.

"Why in God's holy hell didn't you tell me?" Ronnie demanded sounding a bit irate.

"Tell you what?" Alexis replied feeling confused.

"That Bon Vincent moved in next to you," Ronnie said, "That's what!"

"How did you know that?" Alexis said. "Plus I was just on my way over there to tell you," she said. "So how did you know?" she asked her blond friend.

"He was here last night!" Ronnie told her. "Don't tell me you didn't know that Jimmy and he knew each other?"

"No, I didn't!" Alexis said. She remembered last night that Bon had told her that he and Rye were visiting a mutual friend who lived near there, she thought. So that's where he and Rye had been heading last night.

"I'll be over in five minutes," Alexis said and Ronnie said, fine and they hung up.

Pulling into Ronnie's drive a few minutes later she parked her car, and then rang the bell.

Ronnie answered almost immediately and taking her arm pulled her inside.

She led the way then as they headed out onto the terrace. They passed her housekeeper and the blond asked her to please bring a couple of cokes out to the table.

After they sat, Alexis leaned her head on her propped up arm and said, "Okay, tell me all about Bon's visit. I thought Jimmy was on tour?"

"He's home for a couple of days," Ronnie said, "because their lead singer, (she avoided saying Jet's name) came down with the flu and they had to cancel two of their gigs." Ronnie paused for breath and then said, "Jimmy's out shopping for some new guitar strings at the moment."

Ronnie's housekeeper then brought out two cans of coke and two glasses. Thanking the woman Ronnie continued saying, "Anyway, last night when Bon and Rye got here, I opened the door and saw them and was so surprised I wasn't able to speak for a moment," she said laughing shortly as she remembered.

"Bon introduced himself and Rye and we all shook hands. All I remember is saying hi to the both of them and then thankfully Jimmy showed up. They went into his study then and didn't come out until an hour later. Then both said it was a pleasure meeting me and left. But as they started to go out the door though, I heard Jimmy ask Bon how he liked living next to Alexandria Grey. And that's exactly how I found out," she finished.

"What was Bon's answer?" Alexis asked her friend, curious.

"He said, 'Life couldn't be better than if he was twins!" Ronnie told her, as both she and Alexis laughed.

Then Ronnie said, "I heard him whisper to Jimmy, 'Alex?...'she's hot, man'." Alexis blushed at that.

"So he calls you Alex, hmm?" Ronnie asked her. "Now it's your turn. How did you meet? I want to hear everything and don't leave anything out!"

So Alexis told her the whole thing, starting with the loud rock music she'd heard, to her delivering the cookies, the accident and all about Bon, but she did leave out the parts about Bon kissing her and her feelings regarding the man.

Ronnie had never once interrupted but instead listened quietly, however her eyes had gotten big at several points of the story and when Alexis finished she said, "Oh Lordy!"

Alexis looked away with a secret look and said "He is so handsome, Ron, I mean I never realized just how good looking he was until I finally met him. But even if he weren't he's so charming, funny, sweet and his sex appeal is right off the charts!"

Ronnie watched her friend carefully. "So is it safe for me to presume you are a little hung up on him then?"

Alexis laughed and blushed and admitted to her friend she was correct. Then she told her about Bon kissing her and that she'd even made his package react.

"Well, I'd think something was wrong with him if you hadn't!" Ronnie said grinning. "So is he a good kisser?"

"Awesome," Alexis said smiling as she remembered. "I think he's a little hung up on me too," she finished.

Ronnie said, "Well, I'm glad. I'm so glad that you have a man in your life. It's about time, though I never expected it would be rock's most available divorcee."

"Me neither," Alexis said. She got quiet then and stared out at the ocean.

"Is there something more?" Ronnie asked noticing her silence.

Taking a deep breath, Alexis who had battled with whether she should tell her friend about this said, "Yeah, there is something else. But the thing is, I don't know how you are going to react. Whether you will believe me or not."

Ronnie said, noticing how serious her face had become, "Tell me Lex. I can see that something is bothering you. What? Does he have bad breath or something?" she joked.

"No, it's nothing to do with Bon," yet still Alexis hesitated.

"Then what is it? C'mon Lexie you can tell me anything, you know that and it will stay with me," Ronnie assured her.

Alexis smiled. Ronnie only called her Lexie during extremely affectionate moments.

She then told her about the scratches she had received when she had landed on the rose bushes. "And the thing of it is, is that less than an hour later I couldn't find one mark on my body!" Alexis finished.

Ronnie was silent for a moment and then said, "That's really strange. You should still have some marks," she said.

They sat there quiet for a few seconds each lost in thought and then Ronnie said, "I remember you telling me about your Grandmother quite some time ago. You said she had some kind of ability to heal. It looks like you inherited her gift, girl."

"Yeah, it seems that way," Alexis agreed.

"Well I wouldn't worry my pretty head over it," Ronnie stated. "I mean after all, if you DO have some special gift of healing, that's a good thing right?"

"I don't know," Alexis said. "The thing is that even Bon commented after he wiped the blood from my face and arm, that there was hardly a mark. I mean he didn't pursue it, but what if in the future, I get injured badly and heal right before a stranger's eyes? Or I'm rushed to the hospital with some severe head wound and by the time I get there, it's gone, totally healed?"

"I think you're letting your fear run away with you Alexis," Ronnie said.

"But it could happen," Alexis said. "And if it did, all kinds of questions would be asked. I would turn into some kind of medical freak and my life would not be my own anymore." She sat there with a gloomy look on her face.

"Try not to worry about it, sweetie," Ronnie told her. "If you have this ability there is nothing you can do about it. I don't think you should be dwelling on the what if's. You'll drive yourself nuts if you do," Ronnie said reaching out and squeezing her hand.

"You're right," Alexis said, never one to dwell on things she had no control over. "I'd much rather concentrate on the new man in my life."

Just then Ronnie's doorbell rang, and a moment later her housekeeper Adelle came out onto the terrace and handed Ronnie an envelope addressed to both her and Jimmy.

She opened it and read the card, which from where Alexis was sitting looked like an invitation. After a moment she handed it to Alexis. Alexis looked at what was written:

Jimmy Angelo and Friend are invited to a party!

Bon Vincent is throwing a party to celebrate his arrival in Cape Neddick.

Food will be provided as well as plenty of beverages.

Bring your bathing suits along as swimming will be part of the evening's

festivities. Live music will be provided.

RSVP by July 6th 2007

"Well," Ronnie said, "that's kind of short notice."

"So are you guys gonna go?" Alexis asked.

"I wouldn't miss it for anything," Ronda replied. She said then, "You need to go home and check your mail. I bet you got one as well."

Alexis said, "Well if I do get one, I definitely will be attending, but I need to say something to you. You know that I've never been a big fan of theirs and you mustn't let on. Promise me," she pleaded.

"I won't say anything, but I doubt that it would really matter anyway. The man is attracted to you and I don't think he would change his mind one bit if he knew you were not really a fan."

"Maybe not," Alexis said, "But I don't want to take the chance. I really dig him Ron..."

"So what are you going to do, if it comes up, lie?" Ronnie asked with a puzzled look on her face.

"Oh no," Alexis said, "I'll think of something, but until it comes up I'm just not going to enlighten him that's all."

Then Alexis hugged her friend on the cheek and hurried home....

******

Later after Alexis returned home and walked into the entrance hall she saw on the hall table a vase with a dozen red, pink and white roses along with baby's breath intermixed. Marie came in and said they had been delivered twenty minutes prior.

Alexis smiled and walked over to the vase, she bent her head and sniffed at a rose inhaling it's sweet fragrance. She saw a tiny envelope intermixed in the flowers and took it out. Opening it she removed the card and read:

Alex,

I enjoyed our little chat last night and look

forward to seeing you tonight.

Yours,

Bon

Smiling, she placed the card back in it's envelope and stuck it back amongst the roses.

The mail was sitting on the table and on top of the pile was an envelope which looked just like the one Ronnie had received. She opened it and sure enough it was the invitation. There was a phone number there to call for the RSVP.

Alexis was touched by his romantic gesture of the roses and wanted to talk to him right now. But she would rather see him in person than talk on the phone. She walked towards the single French door at the end of the hall and opening it stepped out on the terrace.

She looked over at his house wondering if he was home. Glancing at her watch, the time was 11am and deciding, she called to Marie that she was going next door for awhile and headed over the lawn toward the trees.

In no time at all she had reached his terrace. No one was outside so she headed for the back door. She rang the bell and a minute later Fran came to the door.

"Hejsan Alexis!" the woman greeted her. Fran explained that neither Bon nor Rye was there and wouldn't be home until later. Alexis thanked her and left then.

Walking back inside her house she had to admit she was disappointed. She would just have to wait until tonight she thought.

She headed up to her room then to check out her clothes and see if she had anything decent to wear to the party tonight....
