《My Little Husky Assistant》Chapter 24: The Birth of Sentinel

Six centuries ago, an epic war between the demon and humans had sacrificed many lives including women and children in the Kingdom of Hansville. The kingdom gained victories but lost its citizens and valuable people that only a few were able to proceed with their journey of living. A Gothic cathedral located in the middle of the kingdom was able to withstand the war and still standing mightily. People who had survived were ordered to migrate to the cathedral for provision of food, clothes and medical treatment.
King Curitis who currently ruled the kingdom, peeked at his brittle citizens from the baroque medieval balcony, with deep sympathy. He sighed with the thought of the abrupt decrease of his endearing people. A young man in silver and gold armour approached him from behind and clapped his right shoulder slowly. He joined the king witnessing the humble people climbing the bricked wide stair and some needed help.
"Father, the demon might return and try to seize our land, once again. Nevertheless, I received a letter from our envoy about the vampire. The armies are on manoeuvre to our city, formally in a week they will arrive. What are we supposed to do? Most of our armies have been sacrificed in the war and we can't beg for help from the werewolf clan, the kingdom is cursed and none of them are known to be living," hesitated the young prince.
The king sighed and turned his face to his son with sorrow written on his face.
"My son, Ansel, I might be a king but I'm least perfect in every way. What I tried to define is I cannot proceed further to be the mastermind of the kingdom. I can only feel miserable over the death of our brave heroes and strong knights. I think it's time for you to take the throne, son," emboldened the king with a sad smile.
Ansel widened his eyes in disbelief, he was still young, at an age of 27, and was too young to take the throne. He thought of himself as an adolescent man yet so brave and courageous. He looked down on the people with melancholic eyes; sad faces drawn on each face, they lost their beloved families and home which they called a refuge.

"Father, I'm not ready, my adolescent and childish heart hasn't developed as much as what you thought. I was born to lead the armies-" he paused as the king cut his words.
"That's what a king is, lead his citizens to a brighter future, rules his kingdom with confidence and prioritises the people's necessity. You're ready, my son, but you haven't dug it deeper," the king put his palm on his chest, gently. "Speak to your heart and the truth shall answer you. Believe in yourself."
The king tapped his left shoulder and entered the cathedral. Ansel turned back and gazed upon the clear sky yet so dark. He looked down at the devastated ground with many houses burnt and breathed out thick black smoke to the dirty air. Flickering glowing orange dust floated in the air and puffed into grey dust and blown away by the soft wind. The dark clouds began to join each other and sprinkled the land with dust of white snow.
The king and his young princes, Jerome and Frederick, visited sick people who filled the wide gothic nave for treatment. He watched the sisters and some doctors treating the patient and lent them inadequate food.
"Thank you," thanked the old lady in black ragged robe and took the small brown sack.
The young sister smiled and gave another brown sack to a young child and a pregnant woman who sat against the wall beside her. The king squatted in front of the old lady and took her hands. The old lady was so astonished by the presence of the kind king in front of her that she lowered her head as a gesture of apologies.
"Your majesty," she called.
"I demand no formality during this sickening moment," laughed the king. "Is it just you?"
The old lady pointed her weak and wrinkled hand to a smiling young pretty blonde girl who accompanied a crouching old man.
"She's the only family I've left, I'm afraid. Her parents died together with her endearing younger brother but she doesn't let her sorrow overwhelm her, she wants to fight instead. She's a strong young woman, your majesty."

"Is she still a virgin?" Jerome interrupted.
"Yes, many suitors proposed to her but she chose her family. I'm afraid that she also rejected aristocrats and even men with high status," the old lady sighed.
Jerome chuckled and set his eyes on the pretty blonde teenage girl. The king stared at him and tapped his shoulder with a smile on his face. He turned his head to the king with a little exasperation but agreed. The king shook his head then marched further to the aisle and greeted his people. Frederick punched the upper part of his elbow then laughed wryly. He patted the young boy's head vigorously.
"Stop it! That hurts!" Cried Frederick.
Ansel sat on the baroque red and golden chair while clasping his hands on the marble table with hard wooden ornaments. The knight in black metal armour and royal blue cape veiled his back pointed his fingers on the huge brownish map while presenting a strategy to defeat the vampire. Ansel was present but his mind was away with the fairies; not even a single word entered his mind.
"Your Highness, Your Highness, are you listening, sire?" Asked the knight while snapping his fingers.
Ansel shook his head twice and blinked his eyes. "Yes, can you explain it once more?"
"And, do I have to undo these tiny armies?" Asked the knight with confusion.
"Oh well, yes! Indeed," Ansel replied shortly.
_______________
The domination of demons and vampires spreaded all over the world which forced the world to fall into chaos and desperation. Unending war with many souls transmitted to Valhalla. Trivial sacrifices over the large population had triggered the lord in heaven.
The majestic angels held their conference in a court in heaven. The elegant male archangel with turquoise long hair and golden wing-like hair brooch supported some part of his hair and a golden halo floated above his head, flew to the court. The seven archangels had gathered to hold the vital conference.
"We are now gathering together again as the demon's domination has decreased the human population for which we must act to end this war," Gabriel, an angel with golden tiara and three little rubies stuck on her forehead, began the conversation.
"We as the lord of heaven shouldst not interfere with human affairs as we are here to judge and calculate their good deeds and sins," Uriel interrupted.
"But it isn't the god's will to perish humanity. We have the right to terminate the demon before they rule all over the world. And the vampire is also in the competition to win over humanity and enslave them, we will not just sit on our throne and witness the end," Raphael added.
The heaven shook as the god's throne enraged and cracked the wall and the floor of the tough castle. Gabriel waved her hand slowly and joined the cracks and everything returned to its initial state. It was the god's wrath that shook heaven, the demon had crossed His line.
"We must choose heroes to defeat the demon, they are who amongst the human, courageous and strong," Raphael added further. "Hansville Kingdom has a new ruler. With the young king's strong heart, he will be able to gather the heroes they desired."
All of the archangels agreed with the statement uttered by Raphael. Gabriel nodded while clasping her hands. She summoned her envoy, a blonde female angel with golden armour and sent her the message. The angel nodded and flew to the nethermost of the heaven. She stopped and took a deep breath before she could blow her golden long and huge horn, as if it was the sign for the end of the world.
Blonde women with fair white glowing skin with a crown made of vines and flowers flew to the golden castle. Their ears were long and pointed and their eyes were solid white. Their white dress blew softly backward. They were a bunch of oracles. The aforementioned angel unrolled the golden scroll and announced messages from the lord.
