《My Little Husky Assistant》Chapter 17: Dinner at the Palace

"You look like a goddess from heaven, a beautiful maiden bestowed by the god himself. I owe Hayabusa for turning you into a god-like maiden. The brilliant red coloured kimono that I chose matched the colour of your hair," Ryuuchiro praised Nobara with a bright smile.
Nobara bung chocolates into her mouth that her cheeks were bulging like a goldfish. She turned back then chewed the chocolate and swallowed them in a second. She turned back to Ryuuchiro and smiled nervously as her face turned bright red then she averted her eyes away. He smiled over her adorable reaction. A waitress walked nigh to them and offered the tray with glasses of carbonated reddish drinks in his hands. Ryuuchiro took two of them and immediately offered one of the two glasses to Nobara. She gladly took it and sipped it slowly.
"Exotic taste of grapes and an awful and poorly manufactured at the factory. Exquisite taste, it might be disgusting if they're handmade, imagine the small frickle of sweat dripping into the juice," Nobara complimented then took another sip. "It's a bit salty!! I'm not mistaken it, sweat, Ryuuchiro!"
Ryuuchiro deliberately sprayed the sipped juice from his mouth to the waiter who just walked pass them as he heard Nobara's awful words about the drink. Ryuuchiro grabbed a box of tissue from the dessert table and lent it to the waiter whose body was half soaked with the juice. Nobara did nothing, she looked at the man with a sadistic expression drawn on her face. Ryuuchiro excused himself and walked away, leaving Nobara alone. Nobara raised her shoulders and returned to the dessert table.
She scooped the cocktail mint-flavoured ice-cream and put it into an empty glass and added some chocolates and cakes into the glasses and enjoyed. She scooped some part of the ice-cream with a pure golden teaspoon and insert it into her mouth. She closed her eyes tightly as she got a brain freeze. She sensed something touched her cheek then turned left. She saw a charming western-looking man standing beside her, holding a red rose in his hand.
He had a brilliant and charming smile that might win every maiden's heart. His deep blue hair shone under the amber light which source was the chandelier and the latte-brown spotlights from the ceiling. His golden eyes almost match the amber colour of her eyes. He wore a black long coat with yellow laces with a captain's hat on his head. Sphere stones dangled freely on both of his ears, supported by a platinum string and a blue pearl. He wore a white sailors scarf around his neck. He looked like a captain of a ship, certainly he was a captain.
"I'm afraid that I must reject your offer, Mr Benditto Mussolini," Nobara said with a monotone voice.
"Dr Tachibana Nobara, I must say, you're a maiden with a cruel attitude but soft deep inside. A gifted goddess-like maiden from heaven like you mustn't be wasted on a mundane man, so why did you bother to reject?" Benditto replied while twisting his hand then the red rose vanished from it.

"Well, I'm afraid that a maiden like me does not easily attracted and thus needs a proper greet, Mr Mussolini," Nobara showed him a sinister smile yet so arrogant.
He chuckled and laughed then he took her right hand and kissed it; a proper greet for a lady. He exchanged glances with her but his horny eyes kept ogling on her. He licked his upper lips in a lecherous way and snatched the teaspoon from her and scooped her ice-cream. He fed himself with it then lecherously licked the spoon which made him look even more sexy and more appealing.
"Indirect kiss with the new sentinel, classic," he pinched her chin and touched her red lips with his thumb and whispered, "Ahh, 'Vcgliam prouar fcpotete tenere, Quecflocazzo in la potta, e me adosfo?'"
Nobara looked at him while raising one of her eyebrows like an idiot. Benditto could read the explicit confusion written on her face, he smiled and told her it was a classical poetry but he bothered to not tell her the meaning. He touched a curly strand of her hair which dangled freely on her face, then locked it to her ear.
"The next time we meet, there will be no more indirect kiss but a kiss of pleasure for both of us," Benditto whispered to her ears with his sexy voice then left her with a smile.
Nobara looked at him like an idiot. She didn't understand him but it was natural because it was her first time seeing the man face to face. None of what he had said were effective enough to win her heart, she didn't blush and her heart didn't race like hell, she was pretty immune to those.
It was 8 PM, every guests including the host of the party and the sentinels were allowed to be seated as it was time for dinner; dessert time had ended. Nobara looked at her invitation card and shared it with Hayabusa. They sat on a round table with a brilliant red table cloth with floral pattern stamped on it. There were seven baroque chairs around the table and each of them had names for the sentinels.
A waiter dragged the chair out for them and they seated like a royal dinner. Nobara was nervous for being a VIP guest for the first time. She was originally an introvert, being one of the important people was something new to her; she wasn't expecting being elected as an official sentinel.
A teenage girl with short spiral indigo coloured hair which looked like an octopus with its tentacles curled inward, sat on a chair at her left side. Her normal sized breast became Nobara's first attention as her chest was as flat as a wood plank; she felt defeated by a teenager. She wore a red with black lines Barret with a small bright red puffball on top of it. Her sleazy turquoise eyes looked rather pitiful yet so arrogant. She was Victoria, a necromancer, the Mage Sentinel, known to be the strongest and the most powerful sentinel amongst the seven.

A blue-headed small pixie hovered around her, flapping its translucent yellowish dragonfly-like wings leaving glitters behind. Its skin was greyish-blue in colour and its eyes were solid black. Nobara believed that it was her assistant just like she had Yuu as her assistant. She would like to introduce him to the other sentinels beside Hayabusa but animals were not allowed to enter the court.
On her right side was a hefty man in dark brown coverall with golden laces and diamond-shaped patterns on his right thigh. His violet short hair shimmered with soft amber light and his sharp orange coloured eyes made him looked more like a gangster leader more than a fighter pilot, in addition to his piercings on the *base* of his ear and the thin chokers around his neck. He was Adalbert, the Sky Sentinel, a sentinel whose rank was on the 6th position. Benditto sat beside him who smirked at Nobara as she turned her face to his. Next to Benditto was a yellow-haired woman with huge breasts wearing a dark crimson satin dress. She was Era, the Esper Sentinel but most people called her 'Imagination' and next to her was Hayabusa, the third rank sentinel.
An Iranian scientist with green-coloured hair with dark grey shades at the lower part sat in between Hayabusa and Victoria. His eyes were heterochromatic; brilliant pink on the right side and golden yellow on the other side. He had quartet number sevens as a tattoo on his neck. He was Ruthbert the Science Sentinel. He was a mad scientist who was involved mostly in the production of nuclear weapons and ammunition.
A waitress and a waiter in fancy uniforms came by their table and put the silvery metal *container* on the table and immediately removed the lit and put them underneath the heptagonal dining table. Nobara fixed her eyes on the juicy looking golden roasted chicken with green vegetables and tomatoes adorned around it. She couldn't help herself from salivating but she tried to hide it by swallowing her saliva. The aromatic scent exuded from the chicken was unbearable. Soon, she was glad that she was freed from the tormenting moment as the waitress and the waiter cut the chicken into pieces and served it to each of the sentinels plate.
Nobara took a fork and immediately impaled it onto the chicken and bung it into her mouth without cutting it. The other sentinels paused and stared at her with horrible expressions drawn on their faces. Nobara cleared her throat and put the chicken down; she took a knife and cut a small part of it. She lifted the fork and plunged the chicken into her mouth with manners then they proceeded with their meals. Nobara had never been taught to eat with the western manners and she only stuck with Japanese manners of eating.
"I heard that the Japanese government haven't demolish the vampire fortress in Saitamah, the Vampire over Vehicle. Look at how much vampires roaming in Japan and build nests in every district," Victoria started a conversation with Nobara while locking her eyes to her food.
"I presume that foreigners have no rights to discuss a certain country's affairs. It's political and rather sensitive, I'm afraid," Nobara replied with a monotone.
Victoria directed her irises to the right with an arrogant and disgust expressions. Nobara glared at her back without turning her head. As the lowest rank sentinel, indeed she felt offended by Victoria's presence as she was the first rank sentinel. She was literally annoyed by the seating arrangement; they sat according to their ranks. Hayabusa looked at Victoria and Nobara who were covered with dark blazes and electricity connection their eyes of rage. He could see a visual image of a fierce black wolf with its jaws wide opened, showing its huge fangs behind Nobara and a fierce and horrible dark grey demon with glowing yellow eyes with its mouth opened showing off its fangs and its long snake-like tongue behind Victoria.
"Women," Hayabusa told himself.
Benditto stared at Nobara while enjoying his meal. He was perturbed by a floating ghost-like woman with glowing white skin and long wavy black hair with a seaweed and pointed shells crown on her head. Her chest was covered with a leather bra with grostheque and hard golden patterned laces. She shook her hologramatic royal blue and pointed scales tail and crossed her arms on Benditto's head. She smiled and whispered something into Benditto's ear. He smiled and ordered her to do a job with a whisper. She grinned then swam higher in the air.
The mermaid swam to Nobara and lent her an amber rose with a small hard note with golden frames tied with a ribbon around its horny stem. She smiled and swam away like a ghost. After all she was a siren.
'May this offer be accepted therefore I'm looking forward to seeing your parade, princess. Mussolini' were stated on the note. Nobara looked at Benditto then he winked at her with his hot expression. If Nobara were to be a normal woman, her nose would bleed and she would fall behind as his charms hit her. His sexy and appealing smile and cold eyes made him look hot. Nobara pretended that she never saw him and continued feeding herself. He looked like an Italian supermodel to begin with.

A Nation of Distances (possibly a dystopian love story)
Michael lives in a toxic macho world with extreme male hierarchy. When he gets a weird rating that makes his place even more problematic he's forced to choose a fiancée at a Wife School, and he slowly discovers more about the other side of the great divide between the sexes in The Nation. If only the world would stop being so complicated... On the other side there's Megan, who's more interested in books than in marriage, and the unpredictable Eliza who seems to have a connection with Micheal already. Will they be able to cross the distance and become friends against all the rules of their own world, or will they just be crushed? Are positive relationships between men and women even possible? And is there a way to change the world or is that just a naive thought of a silly wimp? 'A Nation of Distances' is a slightly dystopian dialogue-heavy drama set in a low sci-fi future setting about the war between the sexes, disconnect and friendship. The genre will fluctuate in between more slice-of-life parts and soft sci-fi drama with possible romantic elements, with alternating lead and switching perspectives once more of the main characters are established. Content Warning: Certain concepts and scenes might be disturbing and/or triggering to some, even though the story itself won't be extremely heavy most of the time. Sexism as a double-edged sword destructive to both sexes is an important part of the story, but so is friendship.Note that all descriptions of persons and places are purely fictional and made up by the writer, and any resemblance with anything in the real world is a coincidence, since the real world is not supposed to be dystopian anyway!
