《My Little Husky Assistant》Chapter 10: Sentinel of Durability

"Nobara-sama, where are we going?" Yuu asked while tracking the fast moving scenery of the bridge from the window.
"Meet a friend," Nobara replied while driving vigilantly.
Yuu nodded. He clutched his soft pink paws together and repeatedly glanced at Nobara who put all of her concentration to the windscreen. He wished to start a conversation with her but not even a single glimpse of an idea seemed to appear in his head to discuss with. He touched her arm with his paw but she only groaned softly, in reply to his greeting. He leant back against the leather seat.
"What's a sentinel?" Yuu asked, breaking the silence.
"Check your vocabulary. If you still don't get the answer then use Google translate or do some proper research," Nobara replied without giving a single heed.
"That's not it! I mean, what is their main job, I guess? And how they were introduced or how they fight and how they are chosen and?"
"Slay vampires, read history books, with their abilities or gifts they were born with, good records, eligible candidates are told to sign a contract as a sentinel. Does that tackle your doubted mind, Your Highness?"
"Yes," Yuu looked away with great disappointment because he was expecting something even more interesting than what he thought.
"And, only 7 sentinels around the globe are chosen. If one of them died, a new applicable and more dedicated apprentice will be chosen,"
Yuu was enchanted by her words. He felt like being one of the sentinels if he were to strive to fit the condition. A flash of memories of his siblings and his life as a werewolf projected in his empty mind in a sudden. He used to be very close with all of his six brothers, not until he met Sheena and his whole kingdom was cursed. He remembered the time he played together with Gregary, the eldest brother. He was talented in all types of martial arts not excluding wielding swords.
Nobara glanced at the gloomy little puppy and smiled. She patted his head roughly but he still liked it.
After hours and hours of the least risky jaunt, they eventually reached a town. Yuu woke up then impetuously rushed to the window, watching outside the window and wagging his tail with excitement. He was enchanted by the beauty of the traditional Japanese buildings. The town was a modern town but the people still preserved traditional Japanese architecture and even lifestyle. Yuu stuck his tongue out with his saliva flowing underneath his snout as he saw hanging raw meats in one of the shops.
This placid unique town won his heart. He could hardly see any of the people driving motorcars but they rode on a bike and some preferred to walk. He saw a sweet shop in one of the buildings. The children were rushing and some cried outside of the shop, begging for some sweets from their parents, based on his personal interpretation. He saw a fat mushroom like black hair little boy licking a lollipop. He turned his head and glared at Yuu. With those glaring malice eyes, they made him look psychotic. He glared at Yuu wherever he was, while licking his lollipop and his green mucusy snot on top of his lips.

Yuu gulped his saliva and sat nervously. The image of the boy's creepy face was still clear in his head. He squeezed and hit his head repeatedly to get rid of the foreign and the cowering Hugh definition memory of the boy.
Driving through the Edo period like-town, they stopped by a Chinese restaurant. Nobara parked her car in the parking space then got out of the car. Her outfits made her become the main attention amongst the elders as she walked into the restaurant and some enjoyed seeing her exposed fair complexion. Yuu was pissed by the smiling freaks who stared at Nobara lecherously. He sent a tiny speck of lightning into their soups and drinks. A sip of any soup or drink shocked them with electricity. They were electrocuted then fell on the floor. Yuu smirked then strutted like a poodle.
Nobara entered the kitchen and greeted an old woman wearing a dirty green apron who was currently cutting chillies. She smiled and screamed excitedly then hugged Nobara tightly. She rubbed her eyelid then tears flowed from her eyes due to the spiciness of the chilly. They went outside through the back door and had a little chit chat. Yuu wagged his tail quietly and waited for Nobara to come back. He stared at the chefs. They were all staring at him creepily. One of the chefs struck a whole raw chicken meat with his huge knife while glaring at Yuu. Yuu gulped and just remembered that he was in a Chinese restaurant. He whined then ran outside to Nobara.
"I'm so glad to see you. It has been a long time and look at you, has turned into a woman and gorgeous," cried the old woman while holding Nobara's hands.
"I miss you a lot, okasan. Where's tosan?"
"He's at the dojo. Go and meet him, he'll be glad to see you back," her mother replied.
Nobara nodded, then hugged her mother. They said goodbye then Nobara left the restaurant and continued their excursion to a village. They went into a traditional Japanese Inn. There were men lined in series practicing martial arts, particularly kendo, wielding their long wooden sticks up and down in the dojo. Nobara and Yuu entered the dojo. Yuu was astonished then he mimicked their action and pretended as if he had a sword in his hand.
They heard the sound of the wooden stick being hit together and immediately went closer to the source of the sound. An old man in a dark blue kimono and a hefty man with the head of a lion were practicing kendo in the flower garden. The old man wielded his wooden stick vertically upward and his opponent's stick flew to the air and landed in front of Yuu who was astonished by the sudden strike of the stick. They bowed in front of each other then the old man walked away to fetch the lion-head man's stick. Nobara took the stick then lent it to him with a charming smile drawn on her face.

The old man numbed then smiled. He immediately hugged Nobara, his beautiful daughter.
"Look at you! So beautiful and gorgeous and so grown up. The last time I met you, you were very young and still a little girl," the old man excitedly declared.
"Noba-chan, hug me too!" The lion-head man spreaded his arm.
"I would rather hug a vampire! Hayabusa-san" Nobara sarcastically replied.
The lion-head man touched his muscular bared chest. The men from the dojo peeked to the garden from the hall and stared at Nobara. Nobara was so young when she left her homeland that even the young apprentices who might live nearby didn't recognise her. The lion-head man sniffed the air as he smelled a foreign scent. He grabbed Yuu then sniffed his scent.
"Noba-chan, your dog smells different. He smells like, ancient creature," Hayabusa rudely asked Nobara.
"Be careful, he's a mollycoddle werewolf prince. He will bite you once he transforms into a wolf," admonished Nobara, cowering the audacious lion.
Hayabusa threw Yuu on the floor with disgust and screamed with a high-pitched voice then hid behind Nobara. Yuu rolled then shook his sandy body and growled.
"Naughty boy! He's one of the Great 7 sentinels," Nobara told Yuu.
"Woof?" Yuu barked.
"Let me introduce you, this is Hayabusa, the Sentinel of Durability, the martial art sentinel but loses many battles with my father. And Hayabusa-san, this is Yuu. A cursed werewolf who messes with the greatest ancient witch many centuries ago," Nobara introduced them.
"That's mean, Noba-chan!" Added Hayabusa and Yuu nodded as a gesture of agreement.
"How about we have a feast later, at night. Sounds good, eh? I'll ask your mother to get the boost. Hayabusa-dono, are you coming?" Interrupted Nobara's father.
"Certainly do! I want to see Nobara's drunken state again," Hayabusa replied, showing his horny lion face.
"In your dream. I won't get drunk," Nobara added.
At night, they had their family feast in the living room. Nobara gulped the whole beer including the froth from the huge glass mug. She hit the mug on the table after she had finished her beer then raised it to the air. Hayabusa drank the beer directly from the bottle. Both Nobara and Hayabusa were drunk. Yuu looked at them in disgust then stared at Nobara's parents who were smiling nervously watching their daughter's drunk state for the first time. Hayabusa wore a blue hat then danced like Michael Jackson in his video song 'bad'.
"Are they truly the great 7 sentinels?" Yuu told himself with perplexity.
Yuu sipped his green tea from a brown ceramic cup. He was in his human form. Nobara wrapped her shoulder around Yuu then mumbled. He could smell the strong and concentrated smell of alcohol from her breath. She was totally drunk which opposed what she had said this morning. She almost unlatched the hook of her leather bra then Yuu grabbed her hands by force.
"What are- I'm loving it!" Nobara moaned with a smile on her face.
"Your Highness, please take her to her room," Nobara's mother ordered.
Yuu nodded. He bowed then greeted them goodnight. He left the party way too early for the sake of Nobara. Hayabusa blinked his eyes then rushed to the toilet and vomited. Yuu tried to balance himself as Nobara toddled beside him. She pulled him to her then kissed his lips and wrapped her arms around his shoulder. Yuu was shocked but disappointed because she only did that because she was drunk. Yuu kissed her back then rested his forehead against her after they kissed. He dragged her to her room. He set up her futon on the floor then put her to sleep.
"Yuu, come here. Sleep with me," Nobara called softly before Yuu could leave the room.
Yuu slided the door close then sat beside Nobara. His heart beat quickly even though he slept on the same bed with Nobara almost every day but in the form of a dog not human. He cleared his throat then Nobara smiled and asked him to lay beside her. His face turned red then he swallowed his saliva. Looking at her defenseless state aroused him. Instead of lying beside her, he laid on top of her, slowly spreading her legs and stroking her thighs. He kissed her lips deeply then she wrapped her arms around his shoulders.

What not to expect: Harem, RPG system, regular releases. I'll try to finish the story to the end but can't really promise anything.
