Chapter 5: Meeting the students.
When Alex and the Director reached the training grounds, Alex was stunned. The Director only had a wry smile on his face, if you could read his thoughts you would could read a “Not again” screaming in his mind.
When they arrived, two boys were fighting while two girls were arguing, it almost seemed as if they would start fighting soon as well. One of the boys had white hair, blue eyes and was of medium build and height. The other one had red hair and brown eyes, he was a bit taller than the other boy and was also medium build. One of the two girls had green eyes and long blond hair, had a curvy body and was also medium height. The other one however had short brown hair and brown eyes. Her chest was “lacking” compared to the other girl. What was unusual though was that the boy with white hair had a layer of frost on his body and the boy with red hair had little flames popping out of everywhere.
The Director turned to look at Alex and just cleared his throat before saying, “Well, these guys are your students, good luck.” With that, he turned around and started walking out of the training grounds. Alex just stared at the mans back and just sighed to himself “What the hell did I get myself mixed up in. I knew I shouldn't have accepted his offer, it's not like this is the first time he screws me over like this.” With that he took a quick glance at his “students” and sighed again.
He slowed down time and picked up two training swords that were lying around on the ground. He walked in between the two boys and pointed one sword at each of the boys and let time flow normally again. They were shocked, when Alex just appeared in front of them like that. The boy with the red hair wanted to say something to him but before he could Alex said with a smile on his face, “Drop your fists and straighten your backs. I'm going to be your instructor from now on and before you two go at it again, how about a round of self introductions?” All four of them were stupefied by that sentence but the boys quickly lost interest in listening to him. They saw that Alex was not much older than them, so they held him in no regard.

The red haired boy just ignored him and wanted to charge right past him. Alex just sighed to seeing this and dropped the sword that was in his left hand. He used his hand to flip the red haired boy over and then smacked his head with the sword. Everyone were surprised about what just happened, they understood that this guy wasn't like the rest. He didn't hesitate at all to just flip the boy and hit him. Everyone exchanged a quick glance and went over to a nearby bench and sat down. The red haired boy wanted to say something but suddenly felt a chill run down his spine when he saw Alex's cold eyes.
He just shut up and went to the bench as well. Seeing this Alex just smiled for a second and walked in front of the bench. He cleared his throat and began, “My name is Alex Uni. I'm 16 old and I am an S rank operative. My ability is to accelerate my own time to a point that it seems like teleportation if I move. From today onward I am your instructor and I am going to make one thing clear: If any of you start getting too full of yourself you will be punished. By punishment I am that I will send you to intensive care, I am not like those pushover instructors you have had before, so from now on think before you act.”
His face turned cold when he reached the end, everyone had seen what he could do and they were fairly certain that he would beat them to the intensive care if they fucked up big time. “Now you guys, stand up and properly introduce yourselves. Also state the reason you why you joined the Combat division.” As the words fell, the four exchanged a glance and the girl who had long blonde hair stood up and started, “My name is Marina Erin, I'm 15 years old and am a D rank member. My ability is telekinesis and I am looking forward to working with you. I joined the combat division because I want to make a difference and lose my cowardice.”
She sat down again and the girl next to her stood up, “My name is Erica Tela, I'm 14 years old and am also a D rank member. My ability is mechanization. When I see technology In my head I can disassemble and reassemble that piece of technology in an instant with modifications to improve it.” Hearing this Alex asked, “Why not join the research department or logistical department?” Erica looked at Alex with a lowered head and said, “I've been mocked for a long time due to my ability and I wanted to show them that the things I can create can help mankind. The reason I didn't want to join the other departments was because then the inventions wouldn't have my name on them but the departments.”

Alex just gestured her to sit down and the red haired boy stood up, “My name is Marcus Tuli, I'm 15 years old and my ability is pyrokinesis. I am also D rank. The reason I joined the combat division is that my ability is not exactly useful anywhere else.” Alex just nodded and let him sit down. The white haired boy stood up and said with an expressionless face. “My name is Christoph Lumi, I'm 14 years old and my ability is to materialize ice. I am also D rank. I can create and destroy pretty much everything that has to do with below zero degrees. The reason I joined the Combat Division is to catch up to my elder brother who was born with the same ability as me.”
He sat down again and Alex just glanced over all of their faces before continuing, “Well now that we are all acquainted, let's move on. The reason I became your instructor is that you guys would have been kicked out of the Combat Division program If I hadn't, you guys are troublemakers on all the fields. You have managed to scare three instructors into retirement and are called by a common name amongst your peers: “Team Crazy”. From now on, fighting against others or amongst yourselves is banned. You guys will do what I say, when I say it. Also, I have talked it over with the Director and if you guys get into trouble, it won't be my problem. If you pick a fight, you finish it, I won't be coming to clean up after you guys and also, if you dare to fight in front of me again like that, even more so ignore me, then you have earned yourself a trip to the infirmary. Am I clear?”
When Alex had finished talking, everyone of them swallowed a mouthful of saliva. These guys had not been in a life and death fight yet but they could feel that Alex had killed before, this aura wasn't something they could see but it was more like an instinctive feeling. They all looked at each other and nodded their heads.
Seeing this Alex let out a smile and asked, “Now then, we have all the troublesome things behind us. Tell me, why were you two fighting in the first place.” He looked towards the two boys. The boys immediately felt a shiver run down their spine and their gazes dropped to the ground before Erica started talking, “Marcus was telling Christoph to show more emotions but Christoph kept reminding him that just as Marcus is always hotheaded due to his ability, he is calm as ice and showing expressions is something he doesn't know how to do properly.”
When Alex heard that he just shook his head, he knew many people who were in the same boat as those two. From time to time people, who had extreme compatibility with their ability, started showing traits unique to the abilities, for example people born with pyrokinesis tend to be hotheads who strike first, think later. Ice manipulators however have problems showing their expressions.
Alex turned around and took off his jacket. “Now then, time for me to see your combat strength, I will spar with everyone of you guys and after wards we will have a little reflection meeting, where I will tell you what your strengths are and what you are lacking.” When Alex said that, everyone gulped, they knew that they were going to be in for a world of pain.
Alex looked at that and said with a cold smile, “Now then, who is going to be the first sacrifice?”
