Chapter 2: Lunatics
As Alex mumbled to himself, everyone else were frightened, the ESP-ers however were all looking at the terrorists with venom in their eyes. One of them stood up and said, “Joining that department is up to a persons free will and also joining the Combat Division is up to a person as well, If they do not want to join it, they don't have to. Now tell me, which one of the two is abominable, the organization that leaves practically everything up to a person to decide or you guys, who shove your beliefs down other's throats?”
When the terrorists heard that, they got pretty pissed. The leader went over to the person who had dared to speak up and hit him right in the face. He broke the boys nose and as he had fallen on one knee, the leader said with a cold face, “Do not test my patience by mocking our cause little boy, the next time you do, I will kill you.” Everyone swallowed the words they wanted to say to the man, they did not doubt the mans words one bit. Silence started to reign over the gym as the leader of the terrorists started feeling smug about himself, There were nearly 40 people there with automatic rifles, who would dare to open their mouths to argue them, When the youth had opened his mouth, he was already courageous as hell for doing so. However, before the man could continue his “glorious speech” a mocking laughter rang out in the now silent gym.
When everyone heard that, everyone's gazes immediately turned to the source of the voice, to the mayhem of class 1A, it was their new transfer student. Alex was laughing really loudly and after a minute he started to calm down, when he did, he wiped the tear from his eye and looked at the leader before saying, “Well, your cause is a load of Bullshit. I'm willing to bet that you are that Departments reject or some religious nutjob for thinking that you are right and everyone else is wrong.”

As the words echoed out in the gym, everyone's faces turned pale, the terrorists however had a face full of rage. Every one of the terrorists pointed their guns at the youth, his guards however only had a weird smile on their faces.
They knew exactly how sharp Alex's words can be and that he was not afraid of death. They also understood that this day had gone from bad to worse to the frigging worst for him today and he had snapped. The last time he had snapped, all the inmates of the institute had “magically” started going to get tutored by him on high school subjects and all bullying had also disappeared from the whole institute. The guards knew the best that if this guy was like a sleeping dragon: Harmless when asleep, Hell on Earth when awoken. Everyone had already suspected that he was an ESP-er but when confronted he gave a vague answer and no one had the actual balls to start pressing him for the information because they were afraid of losing them.
The guards also didn't stop him from opening his mouth for two reasons:
1. They were only there to keep him from running away, getting killed alongside him, was not in the job description.
2. They were curious about how he would plan on dealing with this situation.
Alex was currently extremely pissed, so much that he had actually lost his rational thinking. Alex stood up and walked in front of the leader and asked in a cold tone, “So, which is it?” The man looked at him enraged and gnashed through his teeth, “It is true that I was once a member of the department but that has nothing to do with right now.” Alex looked him straight in the eye and just laughed, “So you think that just because you were rejected by them, others shouldn't have the option of being a part of them?`Wake the fuck up, will you. You said that the Department controls the ESP-ers limiting their freedom. Hell yea they have to because if they didn't we would have a hell load of ESP-ers running around doing whatever they want. Should that happen no person is safe and can you say that, that is the world you want to see?”

When the man heard the last sentence he was shocked, he immediately rebutted, “If ESP-ers could do what they want without anyone controlling them, we wouldn't end up with chaos. Instead we would end up with a world, where ESP-ers rule and people without abilities would be the lower class.” The man had a fanatical smile on his face as he let out a lunatic laugh. To this, Alex could only look at him with pity and say, “Yet another lunatic, who thinks that the ESP-ers are the superior race etc.”
He let out a soft sigh as he felt his clear mind returning to him. When he did a quick recollection of past 5 minutes, he realized, that only by using his ability would he get out of this alive. He cursed himself repeatedly in his mind for getting so riled up. He let out a sigh as he had gotten tired of this, when suddenly a phone rang. Everyone looked towards the phone and the leader walked over and put it on speaker. Alex let out a breath of relief and returned to where the guards were sitting.
“What are your demands, you terrorists?” A cold voice could be heard echoing out through the gym, the leader just smiled and said back in a loud voice, “We want the abolishment of the ESP-er Department. We will not hurt any of the hostages, except for one, who came from the prison for he mocked our cause.” There was a minute of silence and the leader of terrorist organization started sweating, in his mind the scenario of the man telling him that the department wouldn't be disbanded for so few hostages, was currently playing on a loop.
“Is the prisoner you want to kill a medium height young man with blonde hair and blue eyes?” The old voice sounded out again, leaving everyone stupefied. Everyone looked at Alex with a puzzled gaze, everyone's mind had the same question, “Does he know the man?” The leader of the terrorist group also looked at him with peculiar gaze before answering, “Yes, that's the guy. Do you know him?”
“Yea, well good luck with killing him, I have seen a lot of people try and fail doing so. Most of the people ended up in a wooden box , the more fortunate ones are still in the infirmary.” When the voice rang out, everyone's eyes were glued to Alex, all of the ESP-ers recognized that voice, it was the Director of the ESP-er Department.
When Alex heard the voice, he froze, “That old bastard can't possibly be alive, I saw him die with my own eyes, 4 years ago.” As the thought ran through his mind, he opened his mouth, “Oi, you can't be that Broken Old Timer right, aren't you supposed to be dead right now?” As he asked that, his mind was reeling, if that guy was still alive, then the chances of the whole department knowing that he's a High Class ESP-er were already very high.
The only answer he got was, “Did you honestly think that, “that” would be enough to kill me, I just needed some time to recuperate. When I was done and came back to the real world, the first thing I hear is that you have ended up in prison. Tell me, is the reason you are in prison tied to Sandra?” “That's on a need to know basis only, you currently aren't on the list old timer.” Alex answered with a smile, as he stood up, his cuffs were gone. In his eyes, grief flashed through as he heard the name Sandra.
As he stood up, the voice from the phone rang out again, “Ho, have you decided to take action Flash Step?” Alex just smiled to that and answered with a smile, “That's the only way to run from you, so yea, I'm going to take action.” As he said that, a bell cling could be heard.
