《Into Nothing》145 // Choose Your Own Plan

"Continuing on," Kyoko said, not letting herself get distracted but Aleister anymore, "The other reason is that most officers of the City Watch are not Weaver's and cannot deal with the issue at hand, and the ones that have their hands tied with the other business and are working on making sure there are no gaps within our city for when the leaders of the territories all congregate."
"Oh, so the meeting is being held here in Osetia?"
Kyoko nodded. "They decided upon the Lillium Empire as it is in the center of the continent and thus almost equidistance from each territory. And then Osetia, because it's part of the primary region where the peak of the eclipse occurred, along with it being our largest and most prosperous city, everything lined up."
"I'm surprised they didn't go to the Shattered Steppes for this since it's an unruled territory," Aleister said.
"The Shattered Steppes are unsafe and located inconveniently for everyone involved," Kyoko said.
"Oh no, a bunch of Seven Weavers will have to travel for a week or two, the absolute horror."
Once more, Kyoko ignored him.
"Fine, but this means the situation in the Vallonian Empire is resolved?"
"That is our current assumption, yes. In truth, all of our information networks were annihilated, but about a week back, my mother and the rest received a letter from the new ruler in charge saying they will attend the meeting after tying up several loose ends."
"An ominous message along with a dramatic reveal, huh? I hope I don't have to kill them."
"You, of course, will not be doing such a thing," Kyoko snapped back. "In any case, the meeting is scheduled for the beginning of next year, meaning we have about four months or so to tighten up security and to deal with any lingering parasites."

"Thanks for the information, especially since it's fairly unrelated to the matter at hand."
"Your welcome," Kyoko said with a smile. "Now, currently we believe the warehouse to contain a few of the kidnapped weapons and some members of The Crystal Moths who are also Weavers. Our goal is to eliminate them and rescue any possible victims inside."
"The optimal outcome," Luo Yun said. "So what's the plan."
"I don't necessarily have one. I know we can't just bust down the front entrance, but I was thinking of coming up with one while we observe the place and after I gain a better grasp of your powers. So does anyone want to speak first, or should I explain mine first?"
"What exactly do you want to know?" Myra asked.
"Just what abilities you possess that could be of use," Kyoko answered.
"Rank Two Terminal Step Weaver with the soul classification of Enkindler. Unfortunately, my skill-set is still quite limited as I haven't reached Rank Three, but I'm still able to manipulate fire to a more than an advanced degree."
"Looks like the plan is to burn the building down," Aleister said.
"I think you didn't hear the part where I said we want to," Kyoko cleared her throat, "Not, harm any possible victims. But that was concise and exactly what I was looking for. As such, I shall use that model for myself. Due to having two soul classifications, I'm still only at Rank Two Intermediate Step."
"Two soul classifications? That's—unheard of," Luo Yun said, choking on his own spit.
"Yes, as a result, cultivating my soul takes twice as long as well."
"And yet you've almost already caught up to me."
"Being the daughter of the Empress helps."
"You can flaunt your prowess at a later date. I just want to know what the classifications are," Aleister said.

"My divine classification is Prime Guardian and my primal classification is Crystal Fractalizer."
"How are the names of your soul classes so grand-sounding?" Aleister shook his head and sighed.
Kyoko smiled as she placed her hands on her hips. "Yes, they also happen to compliment each other as well as one grants me defensive abilities and the other offensive. My—"
"Ugh, save it," Aleister said, stopping her. "This is basically bullying at this point. Myra, you go."
Myra looked over at Kyoko, who was rolling her eyes first.
"Don't worry about me, go ahead," she said.
"Okay, but in comparison, I'm probably the weakest since I only started several months ago," Myra started.
"I only just became a Weaver a month ago, so now you aren't the weakest here," Aleister said.
"But you still have many years of experience of fighting, which I don't."
"Yeah, but look at Luo Yun over here. He would blast some fire at me, and then how am I supposed to fight back? Or Kyoko over here. Just hearing her talk about her abilities reduced my will to even talk to her.
Myra tilted her head and continued. "I'm only just achieved Rank Two Initial Step a few weeks ago and soul classification is Symphonist, which I think should like, explain the lute on my back."
"Rank Two in less than a year?" Kyoko shook her head. "That's as fast as Nana."
"Here I thought my speed was good, but compared to you, it's not even worth mentioning," Luo Yun said.
"And she said she was weaker than me," Aleister said. "Obviously you aren't but more importantly, what kind of spells are you able to cast with your lute?"
"I'm able to cast spells from most of the schools of magic, it seems," Myra answered. "For example—"
"Eh, don't worry about it you can tell me all about it later," Aleister said. "Just tell me if you would be able to put them to sleep."
"I should be able to, but while the music produced by my lute will travel through the walls, they would dampen the effect and not cancel it out."
Aleister nodded and tossed the empty paper bag to Luo Yun. "There's no trash can around, so go ahead and burn that for me sometime between now and before you enact my plan."
Luo Yun looked at Aleister, absolutely puzzled.
"What is this plan of yours?"
"It's a pick a choose your own type of plan. I'll start with step one. Luo Yun heats the building and increases the temperature inside until they open the windows. If that doesn't work, then Myra plays some music to annoy them until they open the front door. Now step two. If the windows are open, Myra plays the music to put them to sleep, and then Kyoko you break down the front door and kills them or takes them prisoner or whatever. If Myra annoys them enough and someone walks out, Kyoko you kill that person and knock them out, and then Myra, you can put them to sleep. Or if you're bored, keep on annoying them until they all walk out one by one. That's what I recommend for maximum entertainment value." Aleister turned around and waved behind him. "I have pills to craft and potions to brew. Don't come and find me."
