《Into Nothing》130 // Not That Big Of A Deal

"I—I don't know what to say..." Myra said, unsure of how to react to the information Aleister just dumped upon her. "When you asked for my help this morning, I was excited, but now..."

"I'm in the same boat as you," Kyoko said, releasing a sigh as she rubbed her forehead. "I'm all for exciting antics, but mentally torturing people and making them believe that they've died is far past any point of what I would consider—okay."

"I totally understand any moral quandaries you might possess, but in my defense, they aren't dead and so it's not that big of a deal." Aleister shrugged, but didn't dismiss their complaints entirely. "Besides, think about how gracious they will be once they become a Weaver and find out that they didn't actually die!"

"Traumatising four different people is most definitely a big deal," Kyoko said. "And, how do you even know your plan will work?"

"Fine, I'll admit that it's some sort of deal, but not that big, unless, of course, they do become Weavers. And if it doesn't work, that's also fine. They'll have experienced death and realized the true path they must walk on when I reveal to them that they aren't dead. No doubt they will not be happy with my actions, but as I said, they will be alive, which is the most important fact at the end of the day," Aleister said.

"And you're okay with this? What if news about his antics gets out? Wouldn't that be bad for your business?" Kyoko asked Luo Yun.

"As long as Aleister doesn't kill them, whatever he wants to do to them, I'm fine with," Luo Yun replied. "He did tell the four of them that their training would be torturous, so they all knew what they were getting into. He did even tell them they might die, but, I'd rather they not as covering up that mess would cause to be a headache. And in the case that word does get out, how would it be a bad thing? I can spin this around and advertise Aleister has turned crazy. That should make for a good fighting storyline."

Kyoko shook her head and rested her fists on her hips. "I can't believe the two of you are so morally compromised."

"It's not about if this is right or wrong but about doing," Aleister said.

"It hasn't even been a day and you're already back to quoting that phrase," Syn said. "Didn't you say something about how it would make you sound pretentious?"

"That supposed conversation escapes my memory—anyway, will the two of you help me or not? If you do, I'll owe the both of you massive favors."

"No need to speak of favors," Myra said as she nodded. "I already can't repay you for what you have done, so of course I will help you. But, what exactly do you need my help with?"

Aleister looked over at Kyoko before he answered.

Kyoko sighed. "Alright, I'll help as well, if only to improve the current situation and preventing it from getting out of hand."

"Perfect! I'll explain everything in just a moment. Follow me." Aleister slipped past the two of them and opened the door to a pitch-black room. In the center, Panry, the half-human, sat still, eyes closed, strapped to a wooden chair. Aleister stacked a few books on top of a table and placed a rock in the center and inch in front of Panry's eyes.

"This needs a lot of explaining," Kyoko said.

"Yes, so with the help of Luo Yun, I've tied up each of them exactly like this in similar rooms. The purpose of this is to ask questions and scrutinize their psyche. Right now, each of them thinks they're dead. So, what better way to ask them those questions and explain their regrets than to think that they're talking to a god."

"Absolutely not," Kyoko said, crossing her arms together. "You can't do this."

"You're right, Panry right here is a devout follower of Lillith and is by far the most dedicated out of the bunch, so I will not pretend I'm Lillith, you are."

"I take back what I said about helping."

"Okay, fine, don't pretend you're Lillith, pretend you're a guardian angel that's going to lead his soul over to her or something. Whatever you want to go with, I don't mind."

"That's not the problem here."

"I know you're not okay with this, but sometimes you have to stretch your boundaries and break past those limitations that bind you. Besides, it will be fun. Trust me."

"I could also just leave and stop you from continuing this insane plan of yours."

"Yes...you could do that, but why would you want to?"

"Is that really the best argument you have against me?"

"I'm not delusional enough to think that my actions haven't or won't cause some sort of harm and are quite amoral. And obviously, not everyone thinks or feels the same way I do, so if you don't want to take part, you can seriously just leave. It's fine."

"You're quite persuasive, you know that."

"I'll take that as a compliment."

"What do you want me to do?" Kyoko asked as she stepped into the room. "Panry, was it?"

"Yup. And what you need to do is quite simple. You just need to ask him questions about his life and what he regrets most in life and ask how devoted he really is to Lilith and if he had a second chance in life, if he would spread her word. I feel if truly believes enough, his soul will awaken."

"What if it doesn't?"

"Well, he by far has the greatest chance of awakening it in the future if he becomes a priest of Lilith."

"Fine." Kyoko let out an exasperated sigh, as if she still couldn't believe she agreed to this. "What do you want me to do with this rock and this glass of wine?"
