《Re:Hammer - The Hammering》Chapter 13

Into the firing range, there were very few armsmen for the size of the place. Maybe the metal people didn’t need to train? Their metal fired for them? Either way, Emia was here to practice some skill, because dropping points into the system did not give actual ability. Just made what you did have even better.
“So what is with the, err, frigging cannons on your hip” Emia asked, looking up to Mirja as she got to the firing stall and found several different weaponry to peruse.
“Ahh, these. The first one I had for ship-board combat. Great for leading troopers and snapshots. But then, there was a problem with our Rogue Trader. See, we had a discussion about what she had been doing recently. Words were said, she turned into a giant tendriled monster along with half the crew, and suddenly my gun was not so adequate.
So after we got out of there with Shenanigans and Fandanglements, and Egwene brought us here to her ship - don’t ask why she has a ship but was Exploratoring on another, she’s unknowable as The Emperor - and now we work for her. I asked for some new weapons to be actually effective in the next incursion. And lo”
Mirja finished talking and pulled the two handguns out of her hips. They were uniquely designed, with long barrels and a silver colouring for one, a black colouring for the other.
“So I got these. Casull and Jackell. Casull is my normal gun rechambered to a 13mm pistol with a fire selector for normal rounds, armour piercing and hollowpoint, so I got a good collection of anti-personnel. Egwene asked why I don’t just use a Bolt pistol at this point but I prefer these. Jackell is far more delicately designed. Same 13mm chambering, but it’s bullets are hexogramically carved silver with a blessed mercury tip for maximum Daemon-stomping power. In case anyone else decides to turn into tentacle-fuelled nightmares” Mirja gave a laugh, but clearly the subject was riding her, mentally.

Emia, decided it was best not to poke that one and picked up a standard Laspistol, pointing it downrange and whispering under her breath.
“Ohh, Holy Emperor, Guide My Shot”. Though, she wasn’t expecting the gun to start glowing with golden power from such a prayer.
“Ohh, nice trick. Looks like what the Soraritas can do” Mirja exclaimed, nodding softly in praise.
“I-I am, kind, of surprised at it myself…” Emia replied, aiming the gun downrange and pulling the trigger. There was a supernatural tug on the gun as she pulled the trigger, and it shot clean through the head of the dummy she was aiming at. Though she got a popup telling her she needed to get a job to gain more exp. These systems were so thick and confusing that she just left it for the time. She gave a quick glance and found that the Aura Of Benediction power had given her loads of new Faith powers.
His Guidence: As if the Emperor had reached down a hand to lend His aid in person, the Faithful find precision beyond themselves. Expending faith grants a shot uncanny accuracy, doubling range increments. An upgrade at 70 Faith makes adjustments to the gun’s positioning to better hit the target. A second upgrade at 100 Faith ignore all weather conditions.
Duty Unending: A most powerful Act Of Faith, this allows the faithful to touch a being and raise them from the dead, assuming they have not been dead longer than [Faith] minutes, and are one of The Emperor’s children.
Purifying Light: The Wicked do not deserve to gaze upon His faithful, and so they are denied. This releases a powerful flash of light that affects the Faithful as would a single match, but those who deny The Emperor are blinded by the light. An upgrade at 70 Faith allows the Faithful to expend a small modicum of Faith to keep the light sustained, though at a lower brightness. An upgrade at 100 Faith deals health damage to Daemons and Heretical Psykers (Though not on sustained mode)

Emperor’s Touch: When facing a creature beyond the reach of mortal weaponry, one must ask for those transcended beyond the limits of Flesh. Using this Act Of Faith allows the faithful to fire a shot packed to the brim with Holy Might, dealing triple damage to Daemons and Heretical Psykers. An Upgrade at 70 Faith allows this power to be used three times with every use. A second upgrade at 100 faith allows the Faithful to channel Clensing Flame through the gun.
Holy Sustinance: In times of dire need, all the faithful require is His light in their soul, and they may carry on. When fatigued from any source, expend Faith to remove the fatigue. An upgrade at 70 Faith allows this power to work for a lack of breath. A second upgrade at 100 Faith allows this power to work for a lack of atmosphere (though it costs triple to do so).
Reading them, was always nice to see. And she had loads of Trait Points to spend. Though, like her stats she did not want to commit to those just yet. Instead, she fired off a few more las shots without the holy guidence - projectile weapons like the rivals for pests were different to these weapons, after all - and got to grips with the system. Each weapon seemed to have a range, and in that range it had a small ring in which the shot would land. Weapon traits would increase or reduce this ring, and one’s Precision stat would decrease it further. She spent time at the range, getting four Precision points. And then she left to go explore some more.
The rest of the month was nice enough. The Filnon woman did not appear again, and Emia spent time in the medbay with her Faith powers, as much as at the firing range until her Precision hit 20, a number she was content with. While she did want to check out if there were any other places to practice, she was ambushed by a box one day, not that she needed it because her body was on fire with a deep and unbridled need.
Day Of Debachery - once a month, on the eighth day, Slaanesh dances, and all his Daemons smile to see her in such throngs of passion. All Daemons gain an effective 8 corruption for ever 10 corruption they have and can affect their host in greater ways. If this would cause the Daemon to exceed the Binding Attribute, they instead gain double the control over the host’s emotions and desires. Today is a day for Lust, not Work.
Emia whined as she saw that box, and squirmed in her bed, rolling over and then back as she tried to fend off these feelings. These, moist, hot, needy feelings.
Gained 1 Wisdom for mental fortitude
Well, at least this cursed day would be great for farming wisdom. If she could hold on! The day was one of horror, and she smashed, bashed, and crashed about her room. Too caught in the throngs of her own passion to think of such simple things as opening the door. In the end she gained 5 points, exhausted herself, and collapsed on the floor. Unaware of the time, and unsure where she even was. Just knowing that her body was a furnace that would burn her to ashes and leave nothing left.
