《Limits》Chapter 59: Destroy Everything (Part 3)

We spent the night in the forest, and returned back to the village in the morning. The Cloud Haze Poison was gone a long time ago, and there were no more dangers awaiting in the village. Although the poison was gone, the smell of blood was very strong. I planned to burn the whole village down, before the merchants arrived. I still had some things to do before that. I headed straight to Nick's house, and picked him up. 'I will bury you outside. Away from this rotten village' I thought, and left. After burying Nick, I said "Rest in peace my friend". I then returned to the village. I needed to create more daggers, from all the ingots stored up and awaiting merchants. It would take me a while to do this, but I had time. The merchants would arrive in about two weeks time. I would be busy with my daggers, but Shelly on the other hand, wouldn't be. I turned around, and said "Can you go around, and collect the stuff that is valuable? Gold, jewellery, stuff like that?". Shelly looked at me baffled. I explained, "What I mean is stuff that glitters or shines in sunlight. It's mostly valuable, when it glitters. I will be busy with my daggers, so if you can collect the valuable stuff, it would help me out". Shelly understood, and nodded its head. I added, "Rand's house should contain something special. If you encounter any books...". Just to make sure Shelly understood, I showed it a book then continued, "Collect them as well. Those on bookshelves, you can leave alone. He wouldn't store that on a bookshelf". Shelly nodded, and was about to run off somewhere. I called out, "Shelly! Don't worry about the damages. If something is in your way, just destroy it!". Shelly then disappeared. 'I should take care of my own stuff as well' I thought. I went straight to the Workshop, and created the moulds for my daggers. In between making moulds, I casted daggers. This wasn't taking so much of my time, because I didn't sharpen the daggers, nor did I polish them. I decided to do it later, after all the daggers were created. I wasn't worried about the amount either. My daggers were light, and I could easily carry hundred of them. I found fifty-four Purified Steel Ingots in the Workshop. 'This is weird, there should be much more. They must be at Rand's place in that case' I thought. The amount was not bad at all. It was enough to keep me busy for a while. After a few good hours of working, I managed to create thirty-four daggers. I still had to sharpen them, and then polish the metal. This alone would take some time. I took a break from my work, and stepped outside of the Workshop. The air was still filled with blood odour. 'Fortunately, this is an open space. Otherwise, the stench would be unbearable. I will have to burn them soon, otherwise some sort of disease may develop here' I thought. I sat down on one of the chairs, and noticed Shelly running around collecting stuff. When Shelly noticed me, it rummaged through the pile, and brought something over. What Shelly brought, was a tattered book. It looked old, and damaged. I picked up the book, and skimmed its contents. I then smiled, and said "Good job Shelly! That is the exact book I was looking for. Where did you find it?". Shelly pointed towards Rand's house in response. I nodded my head while saying, "Very good. Collect everything to that pile. I will sift through that later". I patted Shelly's head for a while, and then returned to workshop. By the evening, I made sixty-three daggers. 'I will take care of sharpening and polishing tomorrow. The pile had a few ingots too. All together, I should have over hundred daggers' I thought. This amount was enough for me, and it would weight quite a bit too. I decided to rest that day, and continue the next day. As I walked out of the Workshop, I called out "Shelly!". Shelly appeared from one of the houses, and ran over. It looked tired. After all, Shelly has been running all day. I said, "Let's go and rest. We can use Rand's house. After all, his bed should be much more comfortable". Shelly nodded its head, and followed after me. The house was very quiet. Thanks to leaving the doors opened, some "fresh" air managed to vented the place a bit. I could still smell some blood, but it wasn't that bad. We went to the master bedroom, which had a huge bed in the middle. Shelly wanted to stay in the same room. I had nothing against that and picked Shelly up. When I placed it on the bed, I couldn't help but smile. Shelly tried walking on the soft bed, which looked comical. Shelly was used to the ground, and rough surfaces, therefore it didn't know how to behave on such a soft bed. After finally finding a place appropriate for it to sleep, Shelly stopped moving and laid down. I laid next to it, and fell asleep shortly after. The next morning, I woke up and picked one pillow from the bed, then placed it on the ground. Shelly was still asleep, so I carefully picked it up, and placed it on the pillow. 'Shelly might have some difficulties getting off of the bed. It's too soft for it to walk normally' I thought, then left to do my own work. I created the rest of the daggers, from all the available Purified Steel Ingots. In overall, I created ninety-six daggers. I still had to polish and sharpen all of them. As I worked, Shelly came by all panicked. When it finally saw me, it seemed to relax a bit. It was probably surprised I wasn't there when it woke up. I explained, "I let you sleep longer, because you worked hard yesterday. I wouldn't leave you just like that. Let's go eat something". Shelly wouldn't decline food, and its mood brightened up a bit. The food available in the village, was still fine. The Cloud Haze Poison didn't affect none living thigs. Humans, cats, dogs or horses would be affected, but some pig meat wouldn't be. The poison worked only, if something was alive and breathing. After our meal, I decided to sift through the pile Shelly managed to collect. The pile contained loads of things. Mostly rubbish, and it would only clutter up my bag. Although I could fit loads of things into my new bag, the weight would still stay the same. There were some Gold, Silver and Copper Coins in the pile, which I took. 'Money is never a bad thing, it can always be useful to me in the future' I thought. There were some weapons in the pile, but I didn't take them. I already had my own weapons, and I didn't need the extra weight for no reason. There was nothing else of use to me in that pile, I decided to burn the rest. 'I'm not going to leave those things for those vultures, to simple collect' I thought. I was of course thinking about the merchants. I didn't need to use the furnace anymore, therefore I dumped all the crap inside there. Besides the pile, I also melted all the raw materials in the Workshop. Iron, Coal, Purified Coal and so on. I took some Purified Coal, just in case. The rest melted inside the furnace. With that taken care of, I began my work again. I started sharpening the daggers first. This would take a while, and I knew I wouldn't finish everything in one day. Time slowly passed. I was able to completely sharpen and polish all my new daggers, after two days of work. Some animals got attracted to the smell, but were easily taken care of by me or Shelly. I destroyed all the tools inside, besides a few I could use myself. 'I will visit a tailor, and places like that. I can still get some valuable stuff over there, which Shelly didn't collect' I thought. I needed stuff like threads, needless, bottles and so on. I visited the appropriate places, and collected all that stuff. I even visited Nick's house, to get some bandages and tools. With everything taken care of, I called out "Shelly!". Shelly ran over quickly, and stood next to me. I said, "We will be leaving soon". Shelly nodded, and looked interested at what I was doing. I was currently making torches. These would be used to light the whole village on fire. 'This is the best way to destroy corpses, but also raze the village to the ground. Fortunately, most of the roofs are wooden, otherwise this would be harder' I thought. It took me a while to set all buildings aflame, but it wasn't that hard. With the village burning, I said "We can leave now". Shelly followed me quietly, as we left the burning village without looking back. That chapter of my life, came to an end. Yet the road ahead was unknow. I looked at the sky while we walked, and said excitedly "Time to explore my life!". Shelly looked at me confused, but I didn't comment on that anymore.
