After contemplating for a while, Nick answered "I don't know". I kind of expected this answer, but asked that question anyway. Nick then said "Maybe in the future, you will be able to find the answers, which I was not able to find". I nodded my head, and said "I will try". Nick woke up from his thoughts, and continued "Focus on the Art of Stealth from now on. Reading the books is secondary at this stage. You already have good knowledge of the Art of Medicine, you just lack experience". I asked "Then, what about the Art of Hidden Weapons? You taught me nothing yet, and I suppose we don't have much time left". Nick sighed deeply, and said "Fine, I shall tell you". I listened carefully, for what Nick was about to say. "Do you remember what I said about Endros?" he asked. I was a bit confused, but replied "Yes, I remember". Nick continued "What did I say then?". I tried recalling what the story was about, and replied "From what I remember, you said that he was a slave. He was also the one who developed the Art of Hidden Weapons. Although I still don't believe it, but that is what you said more or less". Nick said "I omitted a lot from that story. It doesn't matter whether you believe me or not. What matters, is the story". I nodded, while Nick continued "When Endros was young, he lived a very poor life. He slept on the streets most of the time, and had to resort to stealing in order to live. One day, he stole from a wealthy trader, and got caught. He was beaten up and enslaved, then sold for couple pieces of copper to someone else. He was around 10 years old at that time". After a slight pause, he continued. "Although Endros lived on the streets, he was still kind to others in a similar situation to his. What you would call "a good kid", who tried to help others. That was not his real self. His real nature was evil, pure evil. I couldn't compare to him, as only the truest evil can master this Art. Even those he was like that, he never mastered it. Do you know why?". I thought about it, and asked "Lack of talent?". He snorted "Talent? No, Endros was talented. The reason is precisely because of who he became. His desire to become an Emperor, was stronger than the desire to master his skills. That was the only reason, he didn't master his skills". 'Alright, so? I mean what am I supposed to say to that?' I asked myself. Nick though, he continued still. "Back to the story. His evilness didn't awaken for some reason, when he lived on the streets. But that changed when he became a slave. He was tortured mentally and physically, on top of that he was still required to do his work. I don't know exactly when or how, but something inside him finally snapped. He reach his limit of tolerance, and the evilness inside him, awakened. In the heat of the moment, he killed one of the older slaves". "He was punished severely for that crime. They cut his skin with knives. They drowned him, until he almost died. He was abused to the point, where many would simply take their own lives, just to end everything. He lived through it, he managed to last though all those tortures and whatnot. At that time, he vowed revenge, even if it costed him his life. He was restricted, just like you were. That was when he began developed his Art. It wasn't called an Art back then, only later would it be called an Art of Hidden Weapons". He was already thinking how to kill silently, and without anyone noticing. Everything he tried, would be for the sake of killing. This lasted a few years, until he became 16 years old. At that time, he was called to his master bedroom... for reason I'd rather omit. That was his chance, his opportunity for revenge, not freedom. The guards obviously checked young Endros before he entered, but he was aware of that. It's not easy to find a weapon on a practitioner of the Art of Hidden Weapons. If you searched me right now, you would find no weapons on me. Even if you undressed me, you would find nothing. That is how Endros was able to bring in a weapon to the room. Inside, his master awaited. When the opportunity arose, Endros stabbed his master's neck, and killed him on the spot. The guards outside, not even aware of what happened". Nick waited a while for everything to sink in, then continued "With an element of surprise, he opened the doors, and killed the guard outside. He then took his weapon, and slowly slaughtered the whole mansion. It didn't matter whether the person was a slave or not. All of them died". I asked, "What about other guards? That master surely had more of them". Nick replied, "Yes, from what I know, there were five guards. But only one guard stood at the doors to his master's bedroom, That is what the records say. With no one else aware of what happened, He killed those guards one by one. Endros lived in that place for many years, this allowed him to learn their habits, patterns and so on. He knew a lot about them, maybe even more than the friends and family of those guards". He then continued, "You may ask. What does this have to do with Art of Hidden Weapons? The answer is in that story. There were and are four conditions in order to learn Art of Hidden Weapons. Revenge is the first condition. When there is revenge, there is drive towards improvement. Second condition is slavery. In other words, true restrictions of your movement and possessions. Slavery just so happens, to be the best method. This is a basic explanation, but slavery is much more than you think. Third condition, is the mind. You need to be mentally strong, not waver and be ready to kill, even your best friend. You are different though. The fourth condition, is to kill someone. But that would be too simple. Those that can master this Art, are coldblooded people. They don't feel shame, remorse or guilt". I asked "And I have all of that?". Nick replied "You do. It's who you are really. Why do you think I told you that, you are even worse than me. That is the reason. It's in your nature boy". I asked confused "Then why didn't you teach me anything yet?". He sighed, and replied "If I teach you how to do it, you will only reach my level at best. If you learn by yourself, you have a chance of mastering it. All the masters of this Art, learned it by themselves. No one showed them how it's done". Nick then continued "I wanted for you to learn it by yourself, while creating some special events. Now that I already said this, it's pointless. I will still give you the choice though. You can learn from me, or learn it by yourself. Whichever you choose, is up to you". I thought about it for a while, and asked Nick "Can't I choose both?". Nick was stunned for a while, and thought about something. After a while, he replied "Right, choose both... Maybe this has a chance to work". I nodded, and said "Why don't you teach me what you know, and I will also practice by myself. I always get some ideas, so I might be able to develop this further. Who said that if you teach me, there is no way for me to improve anymore?". Nick replied, "Normally it wouldn't work, but it might just work with you. I always forget about that nature of yours, it really is very rare". I always meant to ask about that. "What nature though?". He replied "Your Unyielding Nature of course. When I saw your eyes back then, I knew this must've been it. Funny enough, I never heard of anyone like you trying to learn the Art of Hidden Weapons". 'Unyielding Nature? Was that a thing?' I asked myself. I asked him "Are you sure I meet all the conditions though?". He replied with a nod. " Yes, mostly because of your nature, and things you experienced. You are very fit to learn the Art of Hidden Weapons. Yet, we shall do it differently. I will teach you what I know, and you must develop your own Art as well. How you are going to achieve this, I don't know. I'm certain of one thing though". I asked "What would that be?". He replied with a smile, "You will try to master them, even if you were to die. That is your nature". I nodded my head, and said "I shall try". Nick continued, "First, you will need a real weapon. You will create it by yourself, and with your own imagination. Don't try to copy my knives. Just go with whatever your mind and body is telling you. When you have the weapon, we will start the training. Don't forget to read the book from time to time, and practice the Art of Stealth as much as you can. Remember, you need to combine the whole training that you did, and remember the phase 'Avoid the light'. Alright?". I replied "Alright", and Nick disappeared.
