Hours have passed and Zio is still crying, even though he is now bawling out through his chest, tears are still falling down his eyes.
The old man who sat next to him didn't say anything, he just let Zio cry because he knew he cannot do anything now, once Zio was done crying he will calm down, that is how humans are grief comes and goes and crying is one of the best ways to get rid of it very fast.
After a few minutes Zio finally stopped crying, his heartfelt very lite but he was still sad.
"Life is cruel, boy, sometimes it takes away people who are the most important to you but in the end, all will be fine. This will not be the first time someone precious in your life will be taken away from you, death is a common occurrence and some people have to live through it, you are just a little unlucky that you experienced it so early in your life"
The old man said and tried to comfort Zio, he understood what it feels to lose someone in the family, someone you love and he has gone through it many times, the city took away his family from him but he was powerless to do anything, the old man could only wish for something to happen while he was still alive.
His son was killed by one of the royal family of the city and then he and his daughter in law were chased away to the outer area of the city were the poor of the city lived, his daughter in law was pregnant at that time as well, she soon died after going into labor, even though his grandson was born after his mother's death he also soon died from starvation.

The old man has lived the worse and seeing someone who has also lost his family made the old man feel pity for Zio.
Zio didn't talk much and just stayed around the meteor and looked at it, he didn't know what to do, this was not a person that he can take revenge for the death of his family, this was a natural disaster that came and killed everyone.
A few days passed just like them, the laborers took care of Zio for a few days, they gave him some clothes to wear and cooked him some food, instead, Zio gave them some meat he still had with him, he has finally calmed down a little and is not thinking reasonably.
Even though his family died, he knows he has to move on, he cannot keep dwelling in the past and mourn for them, he just hopes that their soul will rest in peace.
With the help of a few laborer's Zio erected a massive grave for his clan members and gave them a final prayer.
As the prayer was done Zio decided it was time to leave this place behind, the longer he stays here the more his heart hurts.
Asura had been silent for all these days and didn't talk much, he just let Zio vent up all his sadness and regret, it was clearly not his fault, Zio just got lucky and decided to climb the mountain, if he had not, he would have also died here.
"Zio, there is something I need to tell you"
Asura said.
Since they are partners, Asura doesn't want to hind anything from Zio.
"What is it?"
Zio asked.
"This meteor crash isn't natural, someone was behind it, but whether it was intentional or accidental, it cannot be said for sure"

As Zio heard this, something inside him sparked up, it was rage and anger, he wanted to destroy the one who was behind it.
"It doesn't matter if it was an accident or intentional, whoever did this will die"
Zio declared.
"Hmm for that you need to grow a lot stronger, you realize that someone who can cause this much destruction cannot be someone weak right?"
"I know and it doesn't matter, as I said they will die".
"Good, I just hope you won't give up on your goal, to become the strongest"
Asura said.
"I will become the strongest, so strong that no one would dare to take away something that is precious to me, not even death"
Zio said.
This declaration from Zio excited Asura, he knew he had made the right choice, even his former partner Valt didn't have such high goals.
The speech that the old man gave to Zio rubbed off the wrong way in Zio's head, death was common, and he will have to experience it again and again in his life.
Zio didn't want that to ever happen, he wanted to now challenge death itself and defy it.
Zio's sin was growing and Asura knew this can work either to their advantage and disadvantage, now it is his job to guide Zio into a path of complete supremacy.
This is just he beginning, and Asura is already excited to see what the future holds for Zio, this young innocent man who wants to defy death itself by becoming the strongest is a long road, but it can be an exciting one as well.

Fixture in Fate
Heroes aren’t to be trusted. They aren’t to be revered, or to be praised. They are to be feared, no matter the good they do, or the justice they seem to embody. Because it’s all a lie, a fabrication to make you believe that Heroes exist. Heroes don’t exist, only humans. And there is no scarier monster than a human with a ‘link’. Yet, what happens when someone tries to be a hero? A real, true hero—fighting to protect the world from those of their own who wantonly dominate and rule? Can a world, betrayed so thoroughly, ever truly want to be saved? This is a Superhero Fantasy story, set in a world that fears those called Linked. This story is also reminiscent of others in the genre like Worm by Wildblow.

A New Leaf
When people mention fantasy games and RPGs, they usually think of goblins, elves, orcs, dwarves and magic (apart from the percentage that gets an image of an anti-tank weapon in their mind, I will respectfully put those individuals aside for now). But what if you get neither of those (not even the weapon, I know, sad)? And what if you end up playing as something that doesn't look like an animal at all? And what if the said game you were playing weren't actually a game, but real life changed by irresponsible, beyond-mortal beings? Follow the (mis)adventures of "player" 13241, a.k.a. Treant, as he experiences what it's like to be a walking magical fruit maker (among other things). When the world goes to hell and back, plants are the ones that remain, right?

Cursed Forest
This is a high fantasy story with horror elements, featuring the map-maker and half-elf Aspen, and his friend Sekafi, a hyena-like humanoid as they are sent on a mission to map out unknown territory and encounter a monster. Soon they're involved in something larger and more dangerous than they ever wanted. What happens next, you'll find out when you read. This is the first story I'm publishing here on RoyalRoad. I wanted to try this site out since it's more geared towards fantasy. I've been at Wattpad for about 2 years under the same name, but since I'm not writing romance I haven't gotten much steam there. This is my latest story, and it's also published on Wattpad in the book called Short Stories. I wanted to start with something new and unfinished here. I'll try and update at least once every other week, sometimes more often. ~RiisingNovels
