《12 Hand Asura》Beyond The Clouds

Zio quickly took his stance and pointed the arrowhead at the source of the cry, he felt a very strong pressure but he had to do what he had to do to survive right now, suddenly he saw a massive bird head coming from below, he looked at this monstrous thing that flew up just beside him, he looked up and saw a massive bird, its wingspan was 10 meters, its body is covered in black feather while its neck was very long and at the end of the neck was a massive head with a sharp curved beak.
What else Zio noticed is that the massive bird is actually holding the dead white bear he had killed yesterday, this bird is a magical beast called the wind vulture, it looks just like a normal vulture but it is massive in size.
Zio got scared, this is the first time he has seen something so big and dangerous, he tried to sneak away because he knew he cannot take this bird down with his arrows, yes they might be able to pierce the bird's skin and dig in deep but these are a magical beast, they cannot be killed so easily.
He didn't want to run and attract the attention of the massive bird so he slowly took his steps and tried to get away from the bird's field of vision, but it was of no use, the bird had already noticed Zio.
It had come down to hunt food for its babies and it found the dead bear, it also sensed the lingering smell of the dead bear going up the mountain so it followed it and found Zio.
Even though Zio is not big enough for it to be considered as food but for its babies, he is a perfect size, Zio noticed that the vulture's eyes are locked on him, he knew he had to run, even if the chances of escaping was very little he had to run, he didn't want to die too soon.

As he started running the vulture followed behind him, this is a mountain path and this vulture has been hunting hear from the very beginning, it knew the little human has nowhere to run or hide, he will soon get tired and give up, the vulture didn't have to waste any energy at all.
As Zio ran he started to get tired, he had trouble breathing, the higher he got the more difficult it became, he started to feel dizzy and felt like puking, this was not good, he could feel his body get cold even with the fur on him.
He finally stopped unable to move any further, he exhausted all his energy, he looked back and saw the wind vulture still behind him, he wanted to live but he felt helpless right now, he watched as the vulture got closer and closer to him, the wind vulture then extended its sharp talons and tried to grab Zio.
Zio crouched down in fear as he saw the vulture's claw dig into the rocky path itself, the vulture ripped the ground beneath Zio's legs and carried him up in the sky.
Zio is shocked and frightened by this, if the vulture had aimed directly at him with its talons he could have been pierced and killed in one go, but he is still not relieved, he got lucky but he won't be for too long, this culture will feed him to its children.
Zio felt bad for doing this to his parents, he realized how stupid his decision was to climb the mountain on his own, he realized that he was very impulsive in his decision to get the Religan.
Even if the Religan exists on top of the mountain he will have to be alive to get a hold of it, he wanted to cry but he still had some fight within him, he looked at the obsidian arrows on his back, he could break free of the vulture's claws but doing so would kill him as he will fall to his death.

He wanted to wait until he sees some kind of ground or path that he could land on before doing anything else.
He just grabbed onto one of the vulture's talon and watched as the forest below the mountain became smaller and smaller, the capital city became smaller and smaller, soon he was able to see cities that were beyond the capital, but they were all just tiny dots.
Zio also realized that Mount Asura is actually bigger than it looks, even though it is the largest mountain in the world, from below it looks like every other mountain, tall and unreachable.
Zio started to feel the temperature dropping even further but he didn't die, the vulture wanted to keep him alive for some reason.
He then realized something, his father once said that mother birds sometimes brings the prey alive back to their nest so that the children can learn how to kill before they are grown up and start to hunt on their own.
Zio really didn't want to die but he cannot escape from here either, he watched as the clouds covering the other side of the mountain got closer, he felt a sense of curiousness building up inside him, he wanted to see what it was really like behind the clouds.
The wind vulture tore right through the cloud and revealed the scenery of the other side of the mountain to Zio.
He looked at it and his eyes went wide, all he could see was vast blue sky, the coldness had complete disappeared, he saw the arc on the sky which got him excited, he always wondered why the elders in his clan say that their world is round but he always had his doubt, the land he walked on, the water that flowed downstream, this all made his question the old people in his clan.
When he asked them about it they would say that they heard it from the people living in the city.
Now Zio's doubt was dead, he saw the massive ark of his world, he could tell it is a massive sphere that he can never measure.

Shades of the Moon
I'm rewriting this story! I have taken down Arc 2 and Arc 3 already to avoid spoiling my new novel. The only reason I'm keeping the first 10 chapters is nostalgia; the writing is awkward and the story is not plotted out properly, but it's here if anyone wants to compare it to the new one. If you'd like to read a more professionally written version of this story, I highly suggest checking out my Synergy. Synopsis version too-many-to-count: “I see,” Kiona said. “But . . . you’re changing once again, aren’t you?” The entity considered her question, lifting a clawed hand towards the night sky. They observed the back of their hand idly, watching the glowing orange veins pulse alongside their pitch-black exoskeleton. The wind picked up right then, and Kiona shivered—just as much from the cold as from the savage grin on the creature's face. “That’s right,” the entity said, clenching their hand slowly into a fist. They let out a quiet laugh, staring defiantly at the Moon as it rose from behind the clouds. “We are shades, yet not exactly. Not like the others. Here, in this world, we've become something more. We are the Shades of the Moon.” There was a heartbeat of silence, during which Kiona joined the entity in their skygazing. The light-green Moon loomed over the city, shining like the entity's eyes. It promised otherworldly knowledge and terrible secrets. It promised progress. It promised change. In that moment, Kiona couldn't have imagined anything more beautiful. “Shades of the Moon, huh?” she said, smiling a bit. It had a nice ring to it.

Slime of Gluttony
_____ ___, a completely and utterly deplorable person. Lazy, apathetic, and unmotivated. He spends his time as a shut-in, wasting his life away doing nothing of importance. This is the life of the man, a life of no importance. At the impulse of desiring food, he left his small and cramped apartment. Regretting his actions immediately, he was left with the prospect of a complete panic attack due to the numerous amount of people outside at that day. However, he pressed on, determined to find some sort of delicious food to consume. Life had other plans for him. He gets hit by a car, and after hearing strange words from an even stranger voice, he dies. However, minutes, hours, maybe even days later, he awakes, his senses of smell, sight, and hearing robbed of him. Author's Note: This is my first story on Royal Road, so it might not be the best. Although, I hope you enjoy! I'll probably write around 2000 words or more per chapter, but on average a bit more. If you're wondering, the cover art is drawn by me, just in case you thought I wasn't giving credit to the creator. This story might often times lean more into the comedy side of things, but stuff can still get pretty serious at times, especially in the later chapters. The story isn't super dark or anything, but character death is of course going to be a thing. Who? Well, you'll find out, eventually. Also, I'll upload chapters on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I hope you enjoy reading this little hobby of mine!

A Mob Boss's Honour
This is the story of many mob families. It is set in the 1950s. There are many families involved in the crime life in New York. There is honour. There is war to keep that honour. There is loyalty but there is betrayal too. This is not related to my other trilogy. The families featured in this book are different. This is a standalone book. Cover by @aresrising
