- Why is he texting me when we have just met? Is he simply being friendly? I'm just gonna reply, there's nothing special about it anyway.

"Hi, it's alright, I was about to go to sleep."

"Sweet dreams then."

- Sweet dreams? From the way he looks, I kinda expected him to be a bit tougher. Never mind, let's just go to sleep.

The next morning, Da In and Ha Neul met for their weekly weekend breakfast at their favorite cafe.

- So now they both are texting you?

- Yeah, I don't know what to think now.

- Maybe he IS just being friendly, you know, the type of a person that just needs to be friends with everyone.

- Maybe you're right... Gosh, I am living my life not being showered in attention and now I'm just overwhelmed.

- Geez, you should be grateful. Exploit this opportunity while you still have it!

- You're practically married, what - don't tell me you are missing attention?

- Well, it's nice to be noticed! So enjoy it, I command you to enjoy it!

Once the breakfast was over, Da In set off back home, deep in thought.

"Maybe she is right, maybe I should enjoy it while it lasts. It's been a while since the last time I had something romantic going on. I've been thinking about Sung Woo for so long... maybe this will show him."

The stream of thought was stopped abruptly as she saw a familiar person standing in front of the entrance to her building. It was Min Ho.

- Oh, Da In, I’ve been waiting for you!

- Well, sucks to be you. What do you want?

- Why so grumpy? I wanted to invite you for dinner, are you busy this evening?

- Yes, I'm busy, I have plans.

- With whom?

- With me.

Da In flinched and turned around - it was Seong Woo. He came closer to her, put his hand around her waist, pulled her closer to him, and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

- Hi babe, I was about to go in. Shall we?

- Who is this punk?

Min Ho looked angry but it was obvious that he couldn't bring himself to step closer.

- I'm her boyfriend. And you?

- He is just an acquaintance. You should go, Min Ho. Come on, Seong Woo, let's go in.

Da In opened the door and let Seong Woo up to her apartment. She didn't let go of his hand. Once she closed the door, she almost dropped dead on the floor.

- Hey, Da In, are you alright?

- Yeah… Thanks for pretending to be my boyfriend. That idiot is just crazy like that. I blocked him and now he keeps coming here.

- Sounds dangerous. Maybe you should move?

- Yeah... Right...

- I’m serious though. If he keeps stalking you, tell me right away, okay? I can always walk you home or something, I live close by anyway.

- You really don't mind doing that?

- Of course! I can't let anyone hurt this pretty face.

Sung Woo put his hands on her face and smiled warmly. Da In couldn't help but blush.

- A-anyway, thanks. But I need to get ready, I’m really having plans this evening.

- What are you going to do?

- I’m watching a movie with a friend. We do this almost every Saturday.

- Your love for movies didn't die, huh? I’m glad. Okay, I’m leaving now. Have fun. Call me if anything, okay?

- Alright... Bye.

The movie went by unexpectedly fast. When Da In and Woo Jin were leaving the theatre, she couldn't help but think if she'd really need someone to escort her back home again. She was still quite shaken up after today's encounter with Min Ho.

- Hey, what are you spacing out for?

- Nuh, it's nothing. I think my taxi is pulling up, I should go. Thank you for today, I'll see you on Monday.

- Sure! Do text me once you get home, okay?

- Of course. Bye!

Once the taxi pulled up next to her building, Da In let out a relieved sigh.

"Good, looks like he is not here."

She started inputting the door's password when someone grabbed her hand.

- Back already? Where’s your boyfriend?

- Let me go! What is wrong with you? Do you want me to call the police?

- Hey, she told you to let go.

Da In flinched at the sound of the familiar voice. She turned her head and saw Ji Hoon grabbing Min Ho by the hand.

- And who the hell are you? Mind your own business and get lost.

Seeing a familiar face really did something to Da In, for some reason, out of the blue, she caught herself crying and looking pleadingly at Ji Hoon. The moment Ji Hoon noticed it, he lost all of his cool and punched Min Ho in the face. Min Ho fell down on the ground and groaned.

- What the heck dude, what is your problem?!

- Da In, quick, open the door. Hey jerk, if you bother her once again, I’m gonna finish you instantly, got it?

Ji Hoon threw the cigarette in his face and followed Da In inside the building.

When the building door was closed, they both could still hear Min Ho's angry yelling.

- Damn you, slut, how many men are you dating anyway?!

When they entered Da In's apartment, she rapidly closed the door locks, slid down on the floor, and started crying. Ji Hoon flinched and squatted down next to her.

- Hey, are you alright? Did he do something to you?

Da In just shook her head no.

- Who is this jerk anyway? Is he stalking you?

- He is my ex... I don't know why he is doing this.

Ji Hoon lifted Da In's chin with his hand and smiled.

- Hey, calm down, okay? He’s not gonna bother you anymore, alright? Please stop crying.

Da In's crying was interrupted by Ji Hoon's phone sound.

- Hi... I'm at Da In' place... she is kinda… in distress right now… Hello? Are you there? I guess he's on his way here now.

Da In's phone also pinged with the text notification from Woo Jin.

"Are you home already?"

Ji Hoon helped her stand up and brought her to the living room.

- Let's sit here, okay? The floor is kinda cold.

Da In was still spacing out on the couch when Ji Hoon brought her a cup of hot tea.

- Sorry I had to go through your stuff like that.

- It's okay, thank you, really.

They both flinched when her doorbell rang.

- I think it's Seong Woo, I'll open the door.

The moment Ji Hoon opened the door, Seong Woo rushed into the living room and hugged Da In, almost crushing all of her bones.

- Da In! Are you okay? Did you get hurt?

- N-no, I'm okay... Why are you here?

- Do you even have to ask? I knew that asshole won't leave you alone.

- I smashed his face a little, hopefully, it will teach him a lesson.

Seong Woo looked at Ji Hoon and gave him an approving nod.

- Thanks man, good thing you were around.

- Sure. I’m gonna go now, take care of her. I’ll leave you the takeout so you guys eat.

Da In jumped from the couch, almost hitting Seong Woo in the head.

- No, wait! Please stay… You helped me and I can’t just let you go alone and hungry.

Ji Hoon glanced at Seong Woo, the latter turned his face away.

- Sure, Ji Hoon, you should stay.
