I'm going to rewrite this all before I start volume two, so I need ideas on what to change about the story. I've ignored your complaints for the most part so that I could have the ending where I want it to be, but now that's time to change.
Here's what I'm going to do first thing: Limit the 'Just think of it to add it!' part of the skill. The MC will have to actually find and hold an item before adding it, and skills will be added naturally as he performs the task and wants the skill to be added. For instance, to add a brick, the MC will have to touch a brick. To add a spear fighting skill, they'll have to use a spear in combat. To add a bullet resistance skill, they'll have to be shot by a bullet.
Second thing, I'll have the MC try to get a regeneration skill. He'll cut his hand or something and try to buy it, so I won't have a hard time implementing that idea.
Third.... embarisingly, I actually meant to have the story taking place in Chicago. I based the map on the video game Watch Dogs, but I google mapped Detroit. I don't know if I should change this, so I'll take a vote.
Forth, I forgot about Ryan being shot. You wonder how he goes 6 chapters after getting shot in the back and doesn't meantion it a single time? The author forgot it happened. I'll make sure he gets that thing taken out soon.
Fifth, skill leveling is really broke, I'll I'm going to change it. I didn't show it, because I hate POV's, but non-MC characters naturally gain skills and level them. For the rewrite, I'm thinking of the MC needing (Skill_Level)Factorial credits to level the skill. So, a level 1 Sneaking skill will cost 1 credit to upgrade, but a level 3 will cost 6, and a level 10 will cost 3628800. If anyone thinks they have a better algorithm, I'd be open to suggestions.
