With so many credits, he has enough to upgrade fortune quite a bit, and add buy Discount. First, Ryan buys a hundred levels of Discount, which reduces the price of everything in the shop by one hundred credits. To get the best value, Ryan buys each level separately.

However, since he has so many credit remaining, Ryan decides to get another hundred levels... and then another hundred levels. This only costs a total of 45150 credits and reduces the price of next upgrade to a single credit.

At this point, Ryan has already reached the manhole and still has over forty thousand credits remaining. With those, he levels the Fortune skill to level twenty-thousand. For kicks, Ryan stands on top of the van and shoots a zombie in the head.

Ryan gleefully picks skills from the shop and raises them a thousand levels. First, he raises Discount to level one-thousand. Then, levels the fire, slashing, piercing, and crushing resistances to one-thousand. He thinks about taking off his protective gear, but decides it's important for his 'chef' ruse.

After resistance skills comes the stat skills. One-thousand levels to each one makes Ryan feel like an entirely new person. His clothes are suddenly lighter than air, and his mind is sharper than a knife. The increase in resistances didn't change Ryan's body, but the increase in stats made him into an entire different person.

To replace his weapon, Ryan buys a gold plated FN SCAR-H 17. It fires 7.62x51mm NATO, and a magazine holds twenty rounds. Instead of manually loading the magazine, Ryan buys one fully loaded and sticks it into the gun. The rifle is fully automatic, so Ryan holds down the trigger to sweep the street.

With a strength stat of over a thousand, Ryan can easily hold the rifle with one hand. One bullet is enough to kill a zombie if it hits the head, and Ryan gains eighty-thousand credits from the sweep. That's only four zombies, but give more credits than used to be able to earn in a whole day.

'I don't need this,' Ryan thinks and jumps off the van, onto the road. He looks to the sky for a few moments and jumps. He arcs hugely and passes several buildings before coming back down and creating a small crater.

Ryan takes the scabbard off his belt and leaves the spear on the ground with the sword. He then reloads the rifle and adds a hack to the shop.

Ryan buys it and Contracting, then takes to the skies. The flying is much faster than running, jumping, or even riding in a car. In a few minutes, Ryan has reached his parents' house and sets down on the driveway.
