“Yeah, good to see you too,” Ryan says, still unable to remember the man’s name. “Is Jacob around?”
“Yeah, but he’s on higher floors since he doesn’t have a combat class. Have you decided to join us?” The leader asks with hopeful eyes.
“Not yet, I just wanted to see if I could sell you any of my food,” Ryan says. Internally, he wonders if selling food to The Sanctuary would be profitable enough to waste his time on it. After running from his parents’ home to The Sanctuary, Ryan had amassed over eighty thousand credits.
“That too bad,” The leader says, putting his head down. “We don’t have any need for extra food, but we could use help with defending The Sanctuary at night.”
“I don’t have a combat class,” Ryan says, and shrugs.
“And yet, you’re coming here armed to the teeth and covered in body armor. Terry!” The leader finishes speaking to Ryan and turns around to yell. A few seconds later, a heavily injured man comes walking out from the right conference room. He as a light limp, and both his arms are covered in bandages.
“Yeah, David?” Terry asks the leader.
“Escort our friend to the door,” David says and leads the robed woman back inside the left conference room.
While Ryan and Terry walk back to the first floor, Ryan asks Terry about The Sanctuary. From his answers, Ryan doesn’t get any clues to how Jacob is being treated. The cars from Jacob’s dealership have already been transported to the rear entrance of The Sanctuary, where zombie are less likely to gather, and since Jacob doesn’t have a combat class, he spends most of the day on the higher floors of the building with others who don’t have combat classes.

The new damage to the outside of The Sanctuary, which Ryan learned happened the previous night, was caused by a giant. Not a zombie that’s three times as large as the others, similar to the brute, but an actual fifty-foot tall zombie.
After seeing the crushed houses near his parents’ home, Ryan expected some kind of super-giant zombie to be around somewhere but is still surprised to hear it from Terry. Apparently, the giant came before a wave of twenty brutes, which came before a wave of over a hundred regular zombies.
The front defenses fell almost instantly. At a stomp of the giant’s foot, the glass on the ground floor of The Sanctuary shattered, allowing the smaller zombies to enter the building. The guards fell back to the stairs and managed to hold off until a magician could be brought in.
“A magician?” Ryan asks as Terry says it.
“Yeah. She was the woman in the blue robe you saw earlier,” Terry replies. “We had to pool our credits for a mana potion, but she shot a fireball from her hands and blew the thing to bits.”

46 Year Old Syndrome
The daily Litrpg journal of a fairly average 46 year old man in a world where hundreds of thousands of people suddenly have a super power.Follow him as he learns skills, runs away a lot, suffers crippling headaches, avoids reading his titles, and tries to avoid breaking his body that didn't get enough calcium and vegetables.[Disclaimer 1: Despite the following, I will fix any typos pointed out. This is a writing exercise so chapters are mostly first drafts, otherwise I'd end up rewriting each chapter for a month or more with no real changes. My goals are a steady output by not using perfectionism as a procrastination method. I've already got laziness and additions to reading/games, I don't need a 3rd reason to procrastinate.][Disclaimer 2: The main character is a more normalized version of me, with 170% less laziness installed, and a few buffs like greater courage. Other things like having a job are partially similar. No other characters are based on real people because most people I know are either too normal to be useful or too fucked in the head to be believable.]
