《The Mimic》Chapter 19: Her

Her
“Really!!” Luca exclaimed, jumping about. Excitement overwhelming her, still not believing that she has finally met another of her kin, and to the surprises that there is more of her kind out there.
“How does this Maximus guy look like?” She asks, her eyes shining brightly, and her hands praying for a quick response.
“um, uh, well he has the head of a bull I guess.” Mun responses, trying to hide his awkwardness of the strange lamia with no sense of distance. Being weary of women naturally, he makes sure to be 5 steps away from her at all times.
“A minotaur!!!” Mun’s legs jump, not expecting a sudden scream In front of them.
“I saw one once!!” Luca, still oblivious that her presence, nay her existence, made Mun uneasy.
“Could you move a bit faster, I’m under a time constraint.” Luca stops, Mun makes sure to not take another step closer. She turns to face Mun, twisting her bottom half in the way only a snake can.
Mun’s dark vison now seemed to be completely leveled, he could see everything in black and white with absolute clarity. He could see the ridges of the stone cave, the slightly wet floor, and the small tears drops that Lucas eyes try to contain.
“I’m sorry.” Lucas eyes ask for forgiveness. She moves a step closer, Mun takes a step back.
He hates me. She thinks, as her heart begins to clench. She had hoped that if she ever met someone like herself, that they could be friends. No longer being able to contain her tears, they start flowing down her cheeks.
Mun couldn’t move, he had never thought about a women’s feelings all that much, but he pitied the one before him. He was frozen in place, by his fear, disgust, and even pity. What am I supposed to do? He nervously asks himself.
“I’m sorry” she whimpers, trying to wipe away the tears with her hands.
“Um, no.” Her whimpers stop for a moment, she lowers her small hands from her teary eyes to look at Mun.
“Uh, I mean. I’m not mad or anything.” He avoids her gaze, not wanting unnecessary eye contact.
“Really!!” almost as if she was never upset in the first place, her faces glows brightly, her beauty radiates brightly as her lips begin to form a smile.
Luca runs towards Mun, extending her arms like a large child about to hug her teddy bear. Mun takes several steps back, avoiding her attack with grace.
“You are mad aren’t you!” She wines. “I thought we were close” she whimpers.
“No, its just not normal to hug people like that. Especially not naked.” Mun was correct, though that was not the only reason for his discomfort, in fact he didn’t care about nudity or hugs even a little bit, it is because she is a she that he feels uneasy.

“But I’ve seen humans hug each other like this.”
It seems she has seen things she probably shouldn’t have, Mun thought. Why the hell were they doing that in a dungeon!!?? Mun couldn’t think of any reason for people to commit indecent acts in a dungeon.
“Maybe it’s a turn on in this world?”
“What?”
“Uh, nothing.
Anyways, its not normal, so stop.” Mun didn’t want to tell Luca about what she actually saw.
Luca guided Mun, going from corner to corner and never losing her sense of place. She had already grown familiar with everything in the dungeon. Her heart beating quick from excitement and fear. She will finally going out of the dungeon after so many years, but she will also have to go back into the lower floors, worst of all it is so close to that day.
“Here is the boss room.” She had fought the boss once before, she didn’t know she would be forced to fight, she didn’t know she would be trapped in there either. Her hands trembled remembering being trapped in the room for so many nights.
The room was slightly bigger and lit with glowing stones all around the room; stones similar and yet different than the stones that offered protection.
Mun enters first, passing right by the trembling Luca. The boss this time was a Troll, level 20.
“Kill.” The troll spoke, its voice gravely and rough.
“What?” Mun has never heard a normal monster speak.
“They do that a lot, the closer that time comes.” Luca trembled hiding in the corner of a room. The others speaking is probably what terrified her most of that day.
Mun makes his first attack, piercing the troll with his new and improved metal tendrils. The Troll is to slow to dodge and takes the hit directly.
RARR, the troll shrieked, beginning to wildly flail his arms in all directions in an attempt to knock Mun’s tendrils out of the way. Mun walks towards the monster, constantly sending his tendril two at time, little by little Mun starts to attack like a piston, one hits, the other arrives a moment later, the troll wasn’t in pain, nor do Muns attacks seem to have a good effect.
Unlike before when Mun was made of wood, using the dead body parts of animals will only weaken his attacks. The troll finally grabs Muns tendril, sheer luck or something else? Mun couldn’t think properly as he saw the Troll in front of him in one moment, and above the next.
The sounds of metal against stone rings loudly inside the chamber, Muns wooden body shatters from the force. The attack was strong, but it was nothing like when he fought the golem, that monster was a lot stronger than this troll, or at least it felt like it.

The troll raises his hand in as a fist, ready to knock Mun if he tries to get up, but then it stops. It doesn’t move.
“Hurry, I can only do this for a little bit!!” Luca yells, her eyes glowing a scarlet red. Mun leaves his wooden parts, instead using metal to slither around. Mun compacts his form into an long and lanky creature without legs, a metal wormlike appearance. He slithers up the troll’s legs, Luca didn’t understand what he was trying to do, but continued her “Trance”.
The troll could do nothing but watch as Mun run up his neck and down his leg and back to his neck, tightening both sides tighter and tighter. It’s legs were being shattered all the while his breaths were becoming shorter and shorter. Mun had wrapped his body around the Troll’s neck and used the Trolls own legs as a way to grab a hold on him.
A minute passes, the Troll struggling for breath, trying to fruitlessly break free.
Mun holds on tight, refusing to release the poor troll, when he suddenly hears a crack behind him, near the Trolls head.
Mun looks back to see that the Trolls head had been crushed into thousands of stone pieces. Luca had wrapped her body around the troll’s head and crushed it. She was strong, stronger that Mun had previously thought.
Mun lets go of the troll’s limp body. Quickly reforming his body into something resembling the skeleton of human, he still doesn’t have enough metal to create a proper human form.
“You, uh, killed it.” Mun responded, slightly surprised that an easily scared girl like Luca could do such a thing. Her trance ability was also suspect.
Could she have used that ability on me? Is that why she feels different? Mun began to think of the possibility that Luca was in actuality a cunning monster capable of tricking her foes into a false sense of security.
“It was so sad. You were hurting him.” Mun only stared at her, surprised at the response he got. Could it be that she killed him out of mercy? Instead of the slow death Mun was giving the creature, Luca preferred to end it, and cease its misery.
“sometimes that ask me to kill them.”
I see, Mun began to connect the dots, she sees them as her kin; they are simply ill, is that it? A normal person would kill a crazy person as fast they could, if it was all they could do. Its like killing zombies close to you perhaps?
I’m sorry I doubted you, he quietly says to her, making sure she doesn’t hear.
Hope was like that too. In the end, she was too kind for her own good.
“are you okay” Luca slithered closer towards Mun, worried about his condition.
“I’m fine just lead the way.”
“Okay.”
“Ah, I can’t” Luca slither towards the door and realizes that its gone.
“the doors gone.” Luca smiles and points to a door that isn’t there anymore.
“Can’t you open it?”
Her eyes tell Mun, she didn’t know that.
“I can?”
“yes.”
Luca goes to the door and starts rubbing it with her hands.
“open, open, please open mr door.”
Mun raises his fist to his mouth, his laughter trying to escape his lips. Watching Luca start dancing and singing, asking the door to open was too much, BWAHAHA, Mun’s laughter reaches Luca. Her body convulses in surprise.
The door opens a moment later.
“What, what is it?” Luca asks Mun if everything was alright.
“You didn’t eat that mushroom right?” Laughing mushroom, a very dangerous thing to eat when in a dungeon, even though it does have some healing properties.
“Oh no, its okay, I know how to fix it.” Luca runs towards the now open door, only to be hit by an invisible wall.
“Ow!!”
Luca looks to Mun, and he at her.
“BWAHAHAHA” Mun start to uncontrollably roll on the ground, his metallic body clinking with every turn to one side.
“I’m so-haha, sorry.” Mun tries on calm himself, giggling every other breath.
“Sorry. Bhaha, sorry.. that was just too funny.” Luca stares at him, her cheeks start to turn a pink hue, She never sang in front of others before, she had always been alone. Now thinking about it, singing is really embarrassing.
“Sit.” Mun instructs her, Luca obeys.
“we’re gonna be stuck here for a while it seems” Luca had accidentally become the floor boss, she is trapped for an unknown amount of time.
Luca lays down, taking a good amount of space to stretch her body. She fidgets her fingers, not knowing what to do next.
“Can, I ask you about the outside some more?”
Mun smiles, gesturing to ask away. It had been so long since he met such a sweet person. Perhaps he was happy, that he could talk to a woman, and not worry of something happening. Maybe he had taken a liking to her.
