《I can skip between worlds!!!》7. I join a party.

As soon as I enter the guild,
“Haven’t seen you around here before. Want to join my party newbie?” A girl says in a proud tone. The girl was beautiful, wearing expensive looking clothes. She had blond hair and blue eyes. She looks like she is in her teens.
“Who the hell are you? And what’s with that rude attitude?”
“I’m the most beautiful female adventurer in the city, Jessica Hildeburg sama. You should be honored that a lady of a status like myself is even talking to you.” She says ever so proudly.
“And I’m Suya. Nice to meet you. Can you move aside? You’re in my way?”
“How dare you try to ignore me! To think that I even offered to add a nobody like you in my party.” She gets angry.
“I don’t want to be in a party though. I just started my adventurer job yesterday so I don’t need to be in a party to complete any requests. I’ll consider your offer when I get to a higher rank. “
“How dare a paper rank nobody like you refuse an offer from a ceramic rank like me. You’ll regret this.” She storms out of the guild.
What’s the problem with her?? I was trying to be polite but still she was so rude. And I forgot to ask the receptionist about the ranking system. What if the ceramic rank is a high rank!? I’ll be in trouble for sure.
Thinking this I go straight to Kira san. For some reason I can feel the same feeling I had in my class yesterday.
“Kira san, I have completed yesterday’s requests. Here are the proof.” I say as I hand her the request forms.
“You what!!!” She said with a loud voice. With an embarrassed look she lowers her voice. “You completed two requests on the first day you joined?? Even if they were paper rank it should have taken at least another 2 days.”
“I worked really hard. That’s all. By the way, how does ranking system work? I forgot to ask yesterday”
“Please pardon my incompetence. I should have explained that to you even if you didn’t ask. There are 8 ranks in the guild. The lowest is paper rank while the highest is Orichalum. The ranks are in this order” she said as she showed me a chart.
Orichalum Mithril Gold Silver Iron Copper Ceramic Paper
Phew! It seems like that ceramic rank girl wasn’t someone to be worried about. While I was looking at the chart, Kira san prepared my reward for the requests.
“You earn Rank points when you complete requests. When you earn enough rank points you can move up a rank. With increase in rank, the quest difficulty level also increases as well as the reward. The time to complete the quest also increases.” She further explained.
“Do you know how strong the people in Orichalum rank are?” I was curious.

“The current strongest warrior of our country is the War General. He is not an adventurer but if we were to rank him, he would be at Mithril rank. There are other three Mithril ranked adventurers in our country.”
“Isn’t there anyone in Orichalum rank in our country?” I ask.
“There was a warrior who lived 300 years ago who is said to be the strongest in the world at his time. Though his rank was never recorded as the technology was not made, he is supposed to be in Orichalum rank. Currently there is only one unnamed warrior who is in Orichalum rank in the world. Their identity is unknown and their full potential has never been seen. That person supposedly roams the world looking for a worthy opponent.”
“I’d love to reach that rank one day and fight that person once. I wonder what it feels like to be the strongest in the world.”
“I’d love it if you reached that rank too. I could brag to my friends that I registered the strongest person in the guild.” She was smiling.
“By the way, who’s the strongest person in this guild right now?”
“It should be Guildmaster Zurak. Though he doesn’t look like it, he is a Gold rank adventurer. Due to his presence, no adventurer dares show their rowdy nature anywhere near the guild.”
“I really want to increase my rank. Is there any fast way to do it?” I ask.
“The best way should be to join a party with someone of a higher rank. That way you can take higher rank requests and level up quickly.” She explained.
“But I don’t know anyone here. And I don’t think anyone would want to have a paper rank nobody in their party.”
“I know just the person for you. Jessica sama was looking for someone to join her party. She is a ceramic rank so I’m sure she won’t mind taking you in.” She suggested.
“Actually I just rejected her invitation at the entrance. I’m sure she is angry and won’t want me in her party.”
“I’m sure if you ask for forgiveness she will welcome you into her party. You should hurry before she leaves.” Kira san advised.
“Thank you Kira san for your advice. I will do so. And I promise you that I will be the strongest adventurer.” I say as I leave.
“You’re welcome. I’ll be waiting for that day.” She said with a smile.
I leave the hall and exit the guild. Just outside the guild in the corner, there was a beautiful girl crying. I knew her at once. She was Jessica. I go to her and ask,”Why are you crying?”
She starts to cry even louder. Tears were flowing from her eyes like a fountain and snot was dripping from her nose like a waterfall. In no way was she the beautiful girl I had seen before.

“No one wants to join my party. Why? Am I so ugly? Am I so weak that I will slow you down? Why?” She was still crying. I guess she couldn’t handle the shock of being rejected by someone who ranks lower than her.
“I don’t know about others but earlier I didn’t want to join any party. I sorry if I hurt you.” I apologize.
“So that means you are willing to join my party now? Please join my party. Please.” She has stopped crying. Her eyes had this glitter and she was looking at me with great expectations. I couldn’t deny that.
“Yeah I’ll join your party. So I’m looking forward to working with you.”
“Yayyyyyyyy” she shouted as I said those words and hugged me so tightly that I thought my bones would break. How did her attitude change from a proud spoiled girl to a cry baby to this over clingy girl within 15 minutes??
“Let’s introduce each other properly. My name is Togaraki Suya. You can call me Suya. I’m a paper rank. I look forward to working with you.”
“My name is Jessica Hildeburg. You can call me Jesse. I’m a ceramic rank. I also look forward to working with you too.” She was happy. “Let’s go take a request right away.”
“Ok”
We went and looked at the request for ceramic rank. There were more requests than in paper rank. One particular request caught my eyes.
Request to slay goblins. Reward 2 silver coins.
“Let’s take this request” I said as I pointed to it.
Jesse took the request and confirmed it at the reception.
“Let’s go kill some goblins.” She was eager to go right away.
“Can we go tomorrow. I still don’t have proper equipment. And I completed two requests today so I need to rest as well. I also have to find an inn to stay.”
“In that case tomorrow it is then. Let’s go get you some equipment.” She pulled me by my arm outside.
“You don’t have to bother yourself. I will go and buy my stuff myself.” I protested.
“Since we are in the same party, I must make sure you are properly prepared as my life also depends on it. I can’t just let you go.” She said.
Speaking of this, I haven’t checked her status yet. I need to make sure we are on the same level else I might slow her down.
‘Status Check’

Strength: 84
Defense: 63

Stamina: 90

Special Ability: Charge
Title: ***
It seems like I’ve gotten too strong for a paper rank in a day. Her stats are not that bad. But when I compare it to my stats, it seems I am too overpowered with cheat skills.
While looking and comparing her stats with mine we reach the weapon shop. She helps me choose a good sword and a knife. For the armor, I get light armor that protect my vitals like shoulders, chest, forearms and major joints. All these cost me 10 silver.
Then I bought some clothes that were common in this world as well as easy to move in. I really stood out in my school uniform. People probably thought I was a foreigner due to my odd clothes.
After my shopping was over, Jesse took me to the inn she was staying at.
“How much is it to rent a room for a night?” I ask the employee at the front desk.
“It’s 50 copper for one night in a single bed room. Food costs extra depending on what you eat.” He explained.
“I would like to rent a single bed room for 10 days please.”
“I’m sorry sir. We are completely booked for the night. We will have a free room tomorrow morning only. I’m sorry for the inconvenience.” He replied politely.
“Then you can sleep in my room for tonight. I’m sure the inn can provide spare bedding for you. You can sleep on the floor.” Jesse blurts it out without thinking. But she soon realized what she had said and became beet red.
“Ok mam, I’ll send some spare bedding right away.” The employee says.
“Thank you for your kindness Jesse. I was worried where I would find an inn at this time. You saved me.” I thanked her.
“Don’t mention it. It was my duty as I brought you here and on top of that we are in the same party now.” She says while averting her gaze away from me.
We have dinner and go to the room for sleep. The bedding has already been arranged on the floor. I check it if it is soft or not.
“The floor is harder than I thought. I might get backache tomorrow morning.” I say.
“If you can’t sleep on the floor then you can sleep in the bed with me.” Jesse said something but she spoke too softly so I couldn’t quite understand what she said.
“Did you say something?” I ask.
“I didn’t say anything you idiot!!” Her face was red again. She must be embarrassed having to share a room with a guy she barely knows.
It’s almost 7 pm. As this world doesn’t have any electricity, it gets very dark outside even at this time. So people go to sleep early.
“Jesse, please don’t wake me up before the 6th bell unless there is a huge emergency.”
“Ok, just go to sleep now. You idiot!” She is still angry at me for some reason.
Then I close my eyes and immediately fall asleep. I open my eyes again in Scientifica.

Soldier First
Soldier First will be shifting to a monthly update schedule while I work out some kinks in the plot. BRS Limited is looking for answers after the genius programmer behind a radical new biotechnology goes on the run with their intellectual property. After an awkward period of amnesia during a mission in Africa, Butcher is looking for answers of his own. So he reluctantly agrees to let the enigmatic company use him as a test subject while he tracks down the mind behind the technology. Butcher doesn't really understand this talk of "stats", "skills" and "classes", though, and the deeper her digs, the stranger things become. Because even as Butcher changes, he realizes that the world around him is also changing in ways that only he can see, but which could have terrifying consequences for the whole planet. This story is a work in progress and subject to frequent revisions.

Vanilla
A plain RPG based off a classic 'reincarnation-into-another-world' series of events. Nothing original, I assure you. ---- Shiro Hayuata was killed and is now reincarnated into another world, [insert ridiculously obvious hypothetical question here].

To The Far Shore
Post apocalyptic Oregon Trail. The apocalypse has come and gone. And come back again, and left again... nobody really knows how often. Nothing lasts forever, but nothing is ever completely gone. Which is a shame for young Mazelton, as his family has been around a terribly long time, and made an astonishing amount of enemies. Millenia's worth. So he has to run- from mobs, cannibals, soldiers, sailors, cholera, cattle, thieving sales-monks, starvation, mechanical horrors, vengeful spirits, negotiating your own marriage, and poison of every sort. Fortunately, his not terribly nice family has trained him well in the arts of core polishing. Or as you and I might know it- turning radioactive pellets into useful tools. And weapons. Updates Monday-Wednesday-Friday. Usual defensive tags applied. The goal isn't exactly family friendly, but you have probably seen worse on network TV. After the watershed. Not full blown HBO, let's say. This is the first novel I am sharing publicly, so feedback is very much appreciated and encouraged. Act 1 of the novel is completed, but do please let me know what works, what doesn't, and what you would like to see more of. Thank you, and Enjoy!

A Wheel Inside a Wheel
Two brilliant young me, Reinhard von Musel and Yang Wen-li, are forced to flee the countries of their birth and become refugees on opposite sides of a century long galactic war. While they both struggle to adapt to their new lives, their obvious talent propels them to the forefront of the war. Their choices will shape their adoptive homelands forever, and their clash will decide the future of the galaxy. This story is broken up into volumes, each following one half of the conflict. You can read them in chronological order, or you can follow just Yang or Reinhard. See individual descriptions below. Part One - Speaking in Tongues When Yang Wen-li’s father dies, the only thing that he inherits is a mountain of debt, which can only be paid off with fifteen years of his life. Wanting to escape that indentured servitude, Yang flees his homeland and takes up a false identity in the Galactic Empire, a hyper-stratified society where stepping out of line is punishable with imprisonment or death. Yang enrolls in the Imperial Officers’ Academy to study history, but despite his unusual and unmistakeable talent as both a tactician and a scholar, his classmates resent him for being a visible outsider. When tensions at the school boil over and several of Yang’s classmates attempt to murder him, Yang finds an unlikely ally in the top student in the class: the aloof Oskar von Reuenthal. But Reuenthal and Yang both have secrets, secrets which could destroy both their lives and their newfound friendship. [70k words, complete] Part One (Alternate) - Talking Without Speaking When Oskar von Reuenthal enrolls at the Imperial Officers' Academy, he doesn’t expect to make real friends. The IOA is a competitive place, and Reuenthal has never been well liked. But when a foreign student shows up to challenge him for the top spot in the class, Reuenthal can’t look away. [77k words, complete] Part Two - Life out of Balance When Reinhard von Musel's mother learns that her husband is about to sell her daughter to become the concubine of the Kaiser, she takes her two children, Reinhard and Annerose, and flees to the Free Planets Alliance, where the three of them must start a new life. [129k words, complete] Part Three - Servants of the Pharaoh Now an officer in His Majesty's fleet, Yang Wen-li struggles to maintain his principles in the face of everything that is expected of him. When he's unwillingly drawn into the politics of the court, he has to use all of his talents to keep himself and his new friends out of danger. [173k words, complete] Short - Whatever It Takes to Keep the Body Warm After their falling out, Reuenthal and Mittermeyer are both posted to the brutal wasteland of Capche-Lanka. Separated from everyone he cares about, Reinhard is forced to make some unexpected allies, and make connections with old friends. [147k words, complete] Part Five - Serpent's Mouth, Serpent's Teeth After having sacrificed his freedom to save his best friend's life, Yang must figure out how to win, and not just survive, the largest civil war in human history.
