《Journey On Pokemon Island》Chapter 10: Cooking

Edward, who was making food, didn't know what was going on behind the scenes.
"Phew, this is too spicy."
After the first batch was made, he couldn't help but spit it out after tasting it.
Apparently, the food he made the first time tasted horrible.
'It seems that this fruit needs to be mashed a little more.'
Edward said to himself.
He didn't have a detailed production method, so he needed to go through trial and error following the recipe.
Time passed by until afternoon, and Edward was still trying to make Pokemon food.
"Edward, look at this fruit."
Rosa walked over from not far away, holding a bunch of fruits in her arms.
The fruit is mainly green in color with three white thorns at the end.
He recognized it as a maranga berry. It's supposed to have a texture similar to pulled pork.
He took the fruit from Rosa and peeled it open with a knife to taste. Yep, it does have that pulled pork taste with a hint of sweetness.
"Where did you find it?"
He asked curiously while eating.
"Not far away from here, there's a small stream there. There are many plants around it. Also, there seemed to be many wild beasts swimming in the river, but I couldn't see clearly. So I picked a few fruits and hurried back. Can we use it?"
Rosa told him.
Ding!
A sound beeped from her hand watch.
It's just an official reminder from the program team that a new type of plant has been discovered, and some rewards have been obtained.
He couldn't help but admire Rosa.
When he was concentrating on studying Pokemon food, she ran to the side of the stream by herself to explore the island.
This kind of courage, not every challenger has it!

"It should work. Let me try it."
Edward also briefly explained the taste of fruit, which surprised her.
"Wow, there are still fruits that tasted like pork."
As he said that, Edward raised a small fire on the side and put an iron pot on the rack.
The viewers also found it interesting to see Edward moving quickly from one end to another, holding a bunch of fruits.
[Has it turned into a food show?]
[I've never seen a fruit that tasted the same as pork. I want to try it so much!]
[Watch out for the smoke. It's going to attract wild beasts.]
...
They watched as Edward poured some seasoning into the pot.
It was incredible to see the contestants eat some new kinds of fruit, but they didn't expect Edward to actually cook?
"Add some of this tamato berry. It will definitely taste better!"
Edward poured a few tamato berry inside the pot.
"Here, I have washed this."
Rosa also brought over the processed maranga berries.
He threw them all into the pot.
"It should be done after a while."
Edward said with some anticipation.
At the same time, he looked at the Pokemon food he made and thought to himself.
'Luckily, Rosa found these fruits. If not, I wouldn't know how many times I will fail.'

Re: Dragonize
After an unexpected turn of events, Drew must now survive in a world full of challenges with life-or-death stakes. Gone are the days when the biggest problems to face were awkward small-talk at physics department luncheons or mountains of lab work; this former physicist is now adrift in an unfamiliar land without any equipment. Now, Drew's only tool (if it can be called that) is a System, which provides constant reminders of all of the things that are still out of reach for a low-level being who's just arrived in a new world. Luckily, Drew has one powerful asset when taking on the challenges of this new world: surviving violent conflict is a lot easier when you have the power of a dragon at your disposal. Still, Drew has always considered violence a last resort. Why turn to fists (or claws) when a bit of quiet consideration might expose a better path forward? Maybe a life of quiet contemplation is still within reach for this former academic researcher. ...Or maybe not. It probably won't be a life of bloodless pacifism. Additional information for those who wish to calibrate their expectations (I'm adding this based on a few comments I received from readers who feel that the story is not what they expected from a dragon-themed story): Re: Dragonize is not a power fantasy -- or at least, it's not intended to be one. Re: Dragonize is a progression fantasy starting with a protagonist who must start at the bottom (or close to it), and work gradually upwards, making incremental progress with plenty of setbacks along the way. The protagonist, as someone coming from the world of academia, tends to be cautious, methodical, and contemplative. As such, expect this story to contain more than a few digressions as the main character takes the time to pontificate on a variety of topics ranging from Newtonian physics and horology to the nature of existence and the ethical dilemmas associated with being an obligate carnivore.
8 188Alive?
In the ruins of a once glorious city, a mage awakens. As the sole survivor(?) of the cataclysm that destroyed his entire species, he’s forced to adapt. While learning the intricacies of his new body, he must first carve out a place for himself in a familiar yet foreign world before he can set out to reclaim his heritage. I cannot stress this enough: the character is not human, do not expect him to react like one. I know the hand on the cover only has five finger, but I doubt I am going to find a royalty free radiography with two perfectly functional thumbs placed in a sensible way anytime soon. The rewrite is finished. Beta readers are welcomed and I am still wondering whether I should put the sci-fi tag or not.

In this final climactic battle, several of the heroes and their allies perished in the fight to end the reign of the Dark Lord. I, Gwenyth was one of those heroes, and in the moment of my death I inherited the Curse of the Dark Lord…
