《War of the gods [Forum game]》Chapter 17. Art of begging

Nameless heard a whisper. [Dance and beg on the streets until you have some money and gather information while doing so. Both will aid you in your adventure.
Finding a job in such a situation might make everything worse. On a related note, do you have any talent that can take everyone's attention. Use it.]
The man nodded, agreeing with a whisper. Dancing and begging – especially begging – are good and profitable business.
He knew that some people had earned a lot of money, doing such work. The best place for dancing is a central square or any festival. There are lots of people who want to relax and laugh. They will likely give some money for a good performance. But a festival and a central square aren't good places for begging. This business requires another... um, place. A good place for begging is in front of any church. Usually people come to a church in a hope to find forgiveness for their sins. They already feel guilty, and when such people see a poor beggar, they will likely to give some money to him or her.
Nameless knew that he couldn't do both works simultaneously. Well, I guess I need to go to the church. Begging is more profitable.
The man walked down the wide clean street, looking around. This city must be huge.
He saw many shops, which stood perpendicular to the street. Each passerby wore clean clothes and smiled. Besides, there were slaves at the streets. Not many. Majority were female demihumans; or “filth mutants” as the folk called them. They worked as waiters, servants, or cleaned streets.
The man noticed some ugly male demihumans with pig and horse heads. They did a heavy or dirty work.
At a crossing he saw a smiling priest who stood on a podium and spoke aloud. “Kill a mutant and save your soul! Join raids! Punish the followers of the greatest blasphemer! Show them no mercy! Killing the mutants is a path to your salvation!”

Nameless saw a crowd around the priest. Many nodded, listening this speech. Do they truly believe him?
Soon the man had reached a large church with high white walls and saw beggars. He approached them and saw that each beggar had a wooden bowl with some coins in. A professional instrument.
Nameless thought that it would be wise to watch his “colleagues” first to decide if this work is safe or not, but an urge to join them was strong. The spirits wished that. Hence, he sat at the street, next to one of the beggar.
I need to look poor and pitiful.
The human undressed his white short. Then he rolled over on the street.
Now I'm dirty, He thought with satisfaction.
Nameless noticed that other beggars looked at him with interest.
While sitting I need to look down to show that... What the fuck I'm doing?!
He stood up quickly and put a shirt on. Goddammit! Are you, the voices up there, completely mad?! Do you hate me so much?!
Nameless knew that there are castes in some societies and it's very hard to move from one to another. If you were born a peasant, then you should be a peasant to your end.
“Thank you, damn voices!” the man muttered and hurried to leave this place. I hope those beggars will forget about me.
Soon he reached a square with a new priest who also stood on a podium. “Those filthy blasphemers disrespect our Lord! Awful blasphemy come from their mouthes! We need to cut their dirty tongues off! This is a godly deed, my children!
Take a knife, a sword, or a spear in your arms and go outside to do godly deeds with your party! We – the humans – do right things! Say "no" to the mutants! Say "no" to the greatest blasphemer!”
Many in the crowd answered with approval. It seems they like this speech.

What's going on here? The man thought. He had noticed that at each crossing was a priest who gave a similar speech.
Nameless heard as a young handsome priest exclaimed. “You shall not go outside to kill some mutants! There are a lot of them among us! They live in this holy city! Some of you may question me. “Can we spare some mutants?”.
But I – Mett Believer – will answer. “No! Don't spare the mutants!”. The mutants are the original blasphemers and supporters of you know who!”
Damn! What's happening in this city?!
Nameless stopped and looked around. People around were excited; only few were frightened.
“Hey, friend! Do you want to join our party?!” Nameless turned back and saw a group of people with knives and clubs in their arms. There were five of them. “We are going to go in the sewer to hunt down some mutants. We need more people.”
“The more the merrier!” one of the men said and all of them laughed.
Nameless heard those voices in that moment.
[Go with these fine people! You will even have a chance to kill some mutants and gain these men friendship!]
[Go with these people! Convince them to go in the sewer now! Then kill these men one by one and take their belongings!]
[Refuse! You need to find a job! Go and ask around!]
[Join the crowd! Perhaps, you will have a chance to take part in a coming unrest and rob someone!]
[Join the crowd! I hate the mutants! If there will be an unrest, kill as much as possible!]
[Support the closest priest! You need to incite hatred and provoke an unrest! It's your chance to make a fortune! Many rich houses await you!]
[Pacify the crowd! You need to give a speech. Tell the folk that the mutants are good! Tell these people that we need to live in peace!]
~~~~~~
Interlude
In the sewer
“This is our tenth victim,” a tiger girl said, looking as two pigmen dragged a struggling and crying female priest in their hideout. “Why Great Vahrun doesn't hear us? We do need his help. We need to escape from this cursed city. But we don't know how to do it.”
A cat girl came up to the female priest – whose body held still both pigmen - and raised an arm with a knife. “Great Vahrun, we need your help, miow! Please, guide us in a time of need, miow! Accept this offering, miow!”
The priestess was killed and her energy began to move up.
~~~~~~
The next choices only for Vahrun.
[Accept the offering and gift some power to your followers!] You need to write what power you will gift to your followers. No material objects! It can be ability to breath underwater and so on. If you gift power to all believers in the hideout, it will be weak. If you gift power to only one person in the hideout, it will be strong.
///
Example:
[I gift you all a power of breathing underwater]
[I gift a tiger girl a power of breathing underwater]
///
[Refuse to accept the offering!]
~~~~~~
The next choice for great spirits
If Vahrun would refuse to accept the offering or would not choose any of the special choices, you can steal its energy. Just write below his any whisper [Mine energy!] or below your own whisper if he would not whisper anything.
