《War of the gods [Forum game]》Chapter 8. The exiled

It was an intense debate. Two groups quarreled and one of them won in the end. [Go to “The exiles”! I don't know who or what lives there, but you are brave man! A new adventure awaits you!]
Nameless experienced an urge to go to “The exiled”. I'm eager to see who or what live there!
This thought excited the man. Therefore, he jogged down the road.
Soon he had reached a village. It wasn't large. It was rather a small village that hadn't any fortification.
Nameless hid in the jungle and observed the settlement. It looked poor. The folk lived in shacks here. The man could see mud on the walls of each building. The village's streets weren't paved. They were dirty.
The human noticed that many people had some defects in their appearance. Some were hunchbacked, some were grievously scarred, some were maimed, and some had visible skin diseases. Only a small number of people looked normal.
Will those people attack me if I come in the village? The man didn't know, but he was too curious and excited right now. Besides, the human knew that he was brave enough to take any risk. I need to investigate this place!
Nameless left the jungle and walked toward the village. At the entrance stood a wooden road board where was written “The sinners live here!”. Um... Does it mean that all people here are committed a crime?
The man didn't know, but it couldn't stop him. He craved for a good adventure! Thus, he entered the village bravely. The locals noticed him. Now they looked at Nameless warily.
What am I doing here? suddenly Nameless halted.
Now his excitement and “a spirit of adventuring” had vanished. The man realized that he stood at the street of unknown settlement while the folk was gathering around him. And they stare at me not kindly! Damn! What shall I do?!

For a moment Nameless was afraid that those voices would appear again to give him their advice, or rather, command, but it didn't happen.
Suddenly a man – dressed as a monk - squeezed through the folk. He turned to the crowd. “Begone, sinners! You are not allowed to speak with good people!”
Instantly the folk looked down and stepped back. Then the crowd left the street.
“What are you doing here, stranger?” the monk turned to Nameless. “It's prohibited to come here! You shall know it!”
“Ah... I'm a traveler. I travel around your lands. I'm from afar. I didn't know that this place is prohibited for visiting.”
“What?! You didn't know?! It means that you don't know who the exiled are?!” the monk looked shocked.
Nameless nodded.
The monk looked even more shocked now. “That's... Unbelievable... Okay, listen to me. I will tell you about the exiled, but then you must leave this settlement and never come here again. Do you understand?”
“I do.”
The monk cleared his throat. “Our Lord had declared that there are three levels of existence: Greatness, Handsomeness, and Smartness. The Greatness is a level of gods. No mortal can reach it. Thus never dream to reach this level of existence, stranger. Handsomeness and Smartness are the levels of existence in which we, mortals, live. You, I, and other people! We are handsome or at least not ugly. We are smart or at least not dumb. We live within these levels of existence. But look at the exiled! They don't live within these two holy levels of existence! They are ugly or dumb! Just look at them, stranger! They are disgusting! They haven't a place among good people!” the monk pointed at the folk.
Some people still stood nearby. Currently Nameless was at a loss.

“Now leave this place, stranger. These sinners must live here and suffer day and night. This is their punishment!” the monk grabbed the human and dragged him out of the settlement. There he said, pointing at the road. “Go and never come back, stranger. This place is forbidden for good people like you!”
Currently Nameless stood at the road. He was perplexed and didn't know what he should do.
Suddenly the man heard the voices.
[Leave this settlement! Those people look disgusting! Are they even humans?!]
[Speak with a monk! Perhaps, he has a job for you? Let's earn some money!]
[Speak with a monk! Say that those people are just ill and their need help!]
[Kill the monk! He can't treat people as filth!]
[Kill the monk! He can't treat people as filth! And he has better clothes than you! You need to make his belongings yours! People call it “justice”!]
[Say that you are a sincere believer of natus_vincat! Perhaps, the monk will allow you to stay the night, because it's getting late. It's not safe to roam in the darkness.]

Interlude
The battle against the monks wasn't easy. Their spells were even stronger than I thought, meow!
Niao was exhausted now. She used all her mana.
“We haven't find the artifact, mistress,” a wounded pig-man grunted.
“We've interrogated the prisoners, mistress. Only one of them said that the artifact had been stolen just before our attack,” another pig-man grunted.
“Meow! That's not good!” Niao was displeased. No, she was angry. All was in vain? Niao couldn't accept that!
“Who has stolen the artifact, meow?”
“The monk didn't know, mistress.”
“Meow! We need to track down those ones who had stolen the Saliva Flask, meow! We need to destroy this artifact, meow! Or all demihumans will be doomed, meow!”
She looked at her group. Only five pig-men are left. Two are severe wounded.
“Send our wounded brothers to Vahrun, meow! Rejoice, meow! They will feast with our god in his Dream Palace for eternity, meow!” the pig-men grunted in approval.
Niao turned around and walked to the gate. Two pig-men were “sent” to Vahrun immediately.

Tellus Stirs (Previously Earth AA)
The year is 2030. Earth is dying. War, pandemics, overwhelming pollution, species going extinct, climate change, etc. The so-called human race has brought more harm to their planet due to greed; their increased energy needs were on a path of decadence even with their increased technological advancements. Tactical Nukes were already used in conflicted zones in the fight for resources. The conclusion was a deep and frightening hum unleashed deep within the earth, heard by every living creature, and with it, civilization has ended. Those who survived wished they were slain along with their loved ones as the dead didn't have to endure what came after. Others took the opportunity to gain unimaginable power and prestige as a new age began. Chaos reigned as per the prophecies foretold in the past. Those who did not believe knew the signs were actual; these prophecies were no longer popular folk tales. Such titles, the Breaking, the Rapture, the Malhama, and many others, came at a high cost. After all, every city or densely populated area had been hit with natural disasters that encompassed tsunamis, Earthquakes, Firestorms, Typhoons, and hurricanes. Power, food, infrastructure. All of it was gone and what came after was worse as humans were no longer top of the food chain. Yet the imminent destruction of the 21st century re-opened a veil that had kept the world safe from hidden dangers, or maybe it was the other way around. Time will tell. In our story, the Protagonist rises from the ashes of the apocalypse. A desert child soldier nurtured by tragedy and death looking for an escape to fill the void in his heart. By chance, in his hand, he held a blade with immense possibilities. Notes: (30.06.2021) - I have re-edited and revised the following chapters up to Chapter 24. - Changed the Title from Earth AA to Tellus Stirs. Who Fixes Books Anyway?
On the pretense of a raise, the relatively new employee Pernie is called in to talk with her superiors. NOTE: This is a short story written for a class I took recently. As a result of deadlines, it does not possess the quality (or length) that I would like and is rather thrunkated. Perhaps sometime far in the furture I'll fix it up. For now, I have much more important things to work on, such as my other fiction.
