《DEAD MAN'S JOURNEY》CHAPTER - 10

Forceala continent.
The second biggest continent among the seven continents.
This continent is known for the diverse cultures and people living there.
And it is also the third powerhouse in their military and firepower rankings.
Tarantula City___
The biggest city in the Forceala continent, it is the place where the Leaders live.
As for how the Forceala continent is divided, it isn't actually.
The whole Forceala continent is ruled by a group of five individuals.
Two men and three women.
All of them are from blue blood families. And they each are the heads of their respective families.
Tarantula City is also called the base of the entire Forceala continent.
House of Honor.
In a wide room, a round table was placed in the middle with five chairs.
There was a pattern inscribed on the table which looked like a Palace.
The room had no windows but only a single door which is both the entrance and exit.
*Step*
Footsteps could be heard as they echoed in the corridor before the room.
The lights in the room flicked as five figures entered with their somewhat heavy aura.
They then took the seats which were on only for them.
*Clank*
The door to the room closed with no one touching it as if a ghost was there.
"You must have already heard it right. The Titan continent has successfully owned a Wonder."
As soon as the youngest one of the five, a woman with red hair and glasses on spoke, the room turned quiet.
Silence, as it says, was sometimes scary.
"That's the third already. The Statue of Life and Death, The Wall of Protection, and now the Mechanical God."
A man who seemed to be in his early 40s muttered. He clicked his tongue and stared at the table.
"It won't be long when they launch an attack on us."
The young woman said while pushing her glasses. She narrowed her eyes and looked at the oldest woman in the group.
Her expectations were not betrayed as the woman who was in her 70s spoke.
"Do we prepare the firearms? I hope I can get my hands on the money as soon as possible."
But what followed made the young woman reveal a clear frown on her face.
"Margaret, why do you always talk about business?"
The young woman crossed her arms over her chest and said with a displeased voice.
"Because no one knows when I might pass away and the Corel Family gets a new head."
"And of how much I know you young ones, you all won't waste a single second to reduce our number."

Margaret Corel, the elderly woman, also the head of the Corel Family said with a light smile.
"Granny, do you really think we will have time for that? When the war comes, no one will care about each other."
"What we need is preparation for that war so none of us dies so that the number of leaders in the round table doesn't reduce."
Sitting on the right of the red haired, was another man who was exceedingly handsome.
He tapped on the table with his index finger while his eyes were closed.
"I'll give you the money. Bring me the firearms."
His voice was deep and he clearly showed that wasting time wasn't his thing.
"Oh my! Young man, you sure are smart. As soon as the money reaches my hands, I will immediately give you the firearms."
Margaret said with delightment, she smiled towards the young woman with red hair.
"John, you are making things difficult for others. You might have that money making mines but not us."
The red haired woman, named Suzy, said. She looked at John, the handsome man.
"What can you all do to make me back off? Unless you kill me, there's not a chance."
John opened his eyes, he had deep blue eyes making Suzy turn her gaze.
"Haha! You can't seduce her, John."
The other man with his lips curled up, laughed. He pulled a ring out of his middle finger and placed it on the table.
"I can tell you the future, if anyone can get me a big enough bone of the Sky Dragon."
He waited but didn't get any response from the other four leaders.
"Guess I was expecting a little too much. Haha!"
The man hit his own head and took the ring back.
"Don't you have anything to say about the Titan continent?"
Suzy looked towards the one leader who didn't get into the conversation.
"If they send the Mechanical God, we have no way to defend against it. The only thing we can do is to kill the owner."
The last woman, who is in her 30s, spoke with a simple tone.
There was nothing special about her appearance, nor did she have any heavy aura like the other four.
But that didn't make the other four leaders belittle her.
After all, she was the most hidden of the four. Also, she was very dangerous.
"You are quiet as well as but each word you speak is full of plans and murders."

Margaret was shaking her head as she showed a bitter smile.
"We will continue the matter of the Titan continent later in the next meeting. Now, let's focus on new talents."
With her words coming out, Suzy let the atmosphere turn hot.
"Hehe. I want to hear. Which new bastard has come to get his ass kicked by me!"
The man beside John, named Marcus, said with a cheeky voice.
"Not one. But more than ten have passed the A rank Wizard test with perfect scores."
"What! No way! Ten! And that also in the A rank test!"
Marcus was shocked as he looked at Suzy with wide open eyes.
"How many from the blue blood? Our Lados Family didn't have any new talent lately."
Calming himself, Marcus asked with a serious face as he remembered his family circumstances.
"Three. One from our family and two from John's."
While replying to Marcus, Suzy set her eyes on John who wasn't surprised.
"One of the two from John's family is his own little sister."
Suzy wanted to see how John reacts when she discloses the information, but was unsatisfied.
John didn't show any emotion. Not was he proud, because he himself was a SS rank Wizard.
* * *
Wizards, for males, and Witches, for females, had eight ranks.
SSS rank
SS rank
S rank
A rank
B rank
C rank
D rank
E rank
Each rank was based on the level of their control over the energy in them.
E rank are the ones with the lowest control over their energy but they were still stronger than commoners.
Because the commoners couldn't use any magic as the energy in them was full of impurities.
But there can be a few exceptions.
C and D ranks are the ones who can be seen normally in the positions of high officials.
A and B ranks are the special ones with enough control over their energy making them almost non-human.
S rank, above the A and B ranks, are only a few in the whole continent.
They are so powerful that even an army of hundred thousand soldiers can barely compete.
SS rank, this can only be achieved if one is gifted.
That's one in a billion. They have the ability to see, feel, and control the energy in the surroundings.
They are as powerful as the seven Mighty Dragons.
Unfortunately, two of those Dragons were killed many years ago by the humans.
SSS rank, this level is just too high.
Only the legendary five Wizards and five Witches of the year 100 were suspected to be in this rank.
After they perished away with them creating one of the Seven Wonders, not one could reach SSS rank.
* * *
Yes, John is gifted. But only a handful of people know about it.
He can see, feel and as well as control the energy which is around him in the atmosphere.
But he is yet to unlock his true potential.
If he does, then it is said in the book of Seven Wonder, that he will be able to create one himself.
"Two from the Creed Family! Damn! I am jealous!"
Marcus shook his head and sighed. He rested his body on the chair backrest.
Margaret didn't show but she was a little hesitant whether selling firearms to John was a good idea.
What if the calm but cold John strikes her family after he gets his hands on the firearms.
'I should start the factories to produce double the amount of firearms they normally do.'
Margaret closed her eyes and made some backup plans when that happened.
"I will pay you one hundred thousand platinum coins, bring me two of the seven talents."
John's voice brought Marcus and Margaret back to their senses.
"I need two talents."
Then the always silent leader, Maple, spoke. Suzy was anticipating this situation from the beginning.
"I will pay one hundred and fifty thousand for two talents!"
"I will pay two hundred thousand, for two talents!"
Both Marcus and Margaret started arguing, but Suzy legged in between.
"How about you two getting one each? But the price has increased. One talent for one hundred thousand."
Marcus grinded his teeth and glared at Suzy but then he calmed himself.
Then he turned to look at Margaret as they exchanged some looks.
"Fine."
They both agreed.
But how can such a transaction amount to the human lives with A rank ability happen?
It's because they knew that if they wanted the inexperienced talents dead, they could do so.
And the other leaders wouldn't have fought back. Talents might increase next year but what's over is if they are dead.
So the five leaders came to a conclusion that they will pay to buy the talents.
Why from Suzy? Because she is the leader of Educational Institutions and Informative Group.
No, it's better to say that she is the owner.
