《Breaking The Game》Quest 55: Acquire A Date

“Lady Robyn, it’s always good to see you. Are you looking for something in particular?” Prince Morgan said. He was wandering the streets when he suddenly found a member of the team he was supposed to be watching. They somehow managed to slip past his gaze and those of the guards who were also watching them.
Morgan’s original assignment was to assist the team's operations because they had a pathological liar. That mission quickly evolved as the team became more of an apparent problem. The Unnamed Team was truly dangerous. Their origins were unknown. Their allegiances were undefined. Their shenanigans could hurt people, and their skills were powerful. If they were malicious, the kingdom would have a much larger issue than the sins that plagued it. It was practically a miracle that they hadn’t noticed their own exponential growth.
Robyn was the only member of her team present. She was standing in a small, yet expensive, store. The Flawless Boutique was stocked with various dresses and clothing targeted at noblewomen. All of the customers were already wearing extravagant outfits, but they continued to shop anyway. This was because appearances meant everything to a noble. They’d rather be caught dead than spotted wearing the same outfit within a month's time. Plus, the Annual Winter Ball was soon approaching. This caused the store to be overrun with shoppers looking for the most appealing outfit.
“Oh, yeah. I don’t have anything for the ball.” Robyn said. She could tell the prince had entered the store before he even said anything. The other customers were gasping and whispering. Why was he here? What could he want with this particular woman? Wait, doesn't she look familiar? Robyn could practically feel the prying eyes upon her. All of the new attention was suffocating. Even still, she didn’t hate getting attention from the prince.

“Really?” Morgan asked. He found it odd that a person of her status wouldn’t be more familiar with noble customs. In fact, her entire team still seemed like a strung-together group of commoners. She should have at least been invited to some formal events. Were the nobles negligent of the heroes that lived within their domain? Prince Morgan would have to talk to them about this. He may have been assigned to The Unnamed Team as a watchdog, but he didn’t hate them. They were more of a worrisome group that required a certain level of caution.
“Well, I’ve been an adventurer all this time. There’s not much of a need for high-class clothes in that line of work.” Robyn said. She seemed a bit defeated. Everything she said was true. Her profession meant that functionality triumphed over luxury. That was especially true during the team’s time as poor commoners. Every coin was spent on food, housing, or equipment. There was hardly anything left over for the little things in life. It was why they had to steal from Sean, the merchant. It was why their equipment was shabby until just before the tournament. Taking into account how amazing their previous modern lives were, it was clear to see how this new experience wasn’t always well-received.
“That makes sense. Do you need any help? I may not be much of an expert on women’s attire, but-” Morgan tried to say.
“No thanks. Miss Andrea is helping me with the selection.” Robyn said. She gestured to the maid that was approaching the duo. This was Andrea. Like all maids and butlers in both the throne room and Quarters De Royale, she was a nobleman’s daughter that wouldn’t inherit her parent’s land or title. She had been working at the heavenly hotel for years and was more than excited to be the personal assistant of a known hero. Robyn didn’t have the slightest clue when it came to this world’s fashion nor how to equip such antique clothing, so she asked Andrea to accompany her in this endeavor.

“Lady-er…Robyn, I have a selection of dresses ready for you. This way.” Andrea said. She quietly gestured to the back of the store and tried to hide her embarrassed face. Robyn had explicitly asked for the maid to treat her as an equal, yet she still couldn’t do it. How could she? This was a hero. Plus, Andrea had been extensively taught proper etiquette. Addressing a superior with unfamiliar language was unacceptable.
“You really don’t have to push yourself if you can’t talk to me normally,” Robyn said. She felt somewhat sorry for enforcing an impossible rule. She already tried to take it back, but Andrea was dedicated to making the change. She wanted to make Robyn as comfortable as possible, even if it went against all of her teachings. Andrea’s head was practically spiraling. How were the other heroes and their assistants fairing? She’d have to ask them for advice at a later date.
“Ah, well…I will see you later then. Have a good day.” Morgan said before turning to leave. Out of all members in The Unnamed Team, he viewed Robyn to be the most stable. There was no reason to keep an eye on her. Lingering in a shop tailored for women would only arouse suspicion. Morgan tried to remind himself that this team was a group of heroes. Sure, they were unorthodox, but they had good hearts. He regretted his mission. It was thrust upon him by both his father and the kingdom’s intelligence division. If he could get closer to them like a normal person, he would…
“Prince Morgan, I’m sorry to say that I’m not great at dancing. I still don’t know which fork is the right one to eat with. I’m also not prim and proper like the nobles are. Even so, would you be my partner?” Robyn said. Her words were earnest and struck straight through the prince. He was at a loss for words. It was proper etiquette for the man to invite the woman to the ball. Morgan should have been the one to ask first. He just wasn’t sure if it was right, but now that ball was in his court.
“Yes, that would be lovely,” Morgan said with a smile.

The Bronze Players of Recreation
The world of Creation has seen a recent explosion of what can only be called an adventurer’s culture over the past few decades. People who were once looked at as nothing more than lower class mercenaries rose to the ranks of heroes and legends as adventuring became recognized as an idealized lifestyle of overcoming hardship and finding triumph. With the establishment of a guild-based government system on the continent of Terramania, adventurers were soon legitimized and adventuring became a phenomenon universally accepted around the world. Redlette had retreated from this world to live on Earth for the remainder of her years, having been born and outcast by the gods of Creation. However, upon meeting a friend that she treasured dearly, she found herself longing for a return to her world—she wanted to experience it properly and go on adventures with someone whom she holds dear. Putting a plan into action, she meets with her friend, an awkward, nerdy boy by the username of Herring who she’d only known through years of playing online games with him, and invites him to go on this fantastic adventure with her. An adventure in another world had always been an impossible dream for Herring, but when he suddenly found himself with the opportunity to embark on one, he knew it wouldn’t be as simple as books and shows made it out to be. Redlette was notorious for rushing into things without thinking them through, and he was flighty and weak. In the games they played together, they rarely grasped victory. They were losers through and through, both in hobby and life. Despite this, though, he takes the leap and sets off with Redlette into the world of Creation. Together they only had one goal: to have fun and go on the adventure of their lives. This time, they’d establish a guild of their own and be free to take on whatever exploits their hearts desired. This is the story of the founding of their guild. Author’s Notes: -My writing style is largely based off of the absurd amount of light novels I’ve read and anime I’ve watched, so it may come off as cartoonish or exaggerative at times. If that isn’t your thing, I’d steer clear of this story.-Not an MMO story.-No numerical stats.-Relatively slow pacing.-Posts are between 2000-5000 words weekly after Chapter 1. There were eight deadly sins but, seven sounds better. It's more catchy. It lets people be bystanders, it lets them watch without interference.Because the eighth sin was the sin of silence.and no one likes to see the faults in themselves.------------- discontinued -none of the characters of plot lines from the seven deadly sins belong to me.
