《Realistic Tower of God: The Martial Way》Chapter 55- Workshop Battle Part 3

It was a cold and damp place. The ground was rocky and slippery as moss thrived in the place, covering the ground, walls, and ceilings.
Lights were almost absent if it weren't for the lighthouses lighting up the area. There were no sounds and noises aside from the fumbling regulars as they were just teleported to this place.
There were around a dozen of them in the area. As a group of the regulars was studying the area, they didn't drop their guard against the other team and watched over them warily, preparing their lighthouse to block any aggressive attempts they might do at a moment's notice.
Even if it was unlikely they were to attack them just after being teleported, they had to put up their guard. Who knew if they would attack them when they were still unfamiliar with the fish tank and try to get the most kill to win the Red Shark?
As they were studying the area and being wary of each other, there were three people on the corner who went unnoticed by both teams.
They didn't use any lighthouse to give them vision and since they hadn't created any noise up till now, both teams didn't realize their presence.
Adori was already quite expert at using shinsu sensing since she had trained it constantly when they were under the Rankers' guidance on the 20th floor.
It was for the purpose of learning Arie Sword Style since only people who had faced or wielded the Arie sword knew what it exactly was.
The Arie Sword Style was both a sword and shinsu itself. It combined the essence of swordsmanship and shinsu manipulation. Because of that, although Arie Sword Style was a sword technique, it didn't have the limitations that a sword had.
Their attacks and slashes could come from any direction, even from the sword user's back, or even after someone blocked the sword from the front, they could still receive a slash from the side as if the sword could magically disappear and move to the side.

When someone fought against a user of the Arie Sword Style, they couldn't tell the sword movement at all and would only feel that the sword could move in every way it wanted as if it had disregarded the law of space itself.
This was possible since the Arie Sword Style was basically shinsu controlled to become a sword. To put it simply, it had both physical and shinsu properties. Physical in form of the sword and shinsu in form of its attacks.
This was the reason Adori and every other Arie regulars could still utilize the Arie sword style with a sword, though it was much weaker than materializing the sword fully with shinsu.
To block or anticipate the attacks, one had to deal with the physical attacks and shinsu attacks at the same time. Because of this reason, not many people were able to fight toe to toe against the Arie family members in the same level, and the Arie had become the undisputed greatest family of the ten great families.
Blocking the physical attack might be simple, as long as one was faster than the attack they would be able to dodge it, but blocking the shinsu attack was way harder. To block the random and irregular shinsu attacks, a sharp shinsu sensing ability was needed.
As Adori trained Arie Sword Style under the Arie Ranker, she diligently improved her shinsu sensing ability to deal with his sword attacks and also to absorb his sword skills at a faster pace to deepen her understanding.
She wasn't an Arie, after all, at the end of the day, though not all of the Arie family descendants were able to use the sword style either.
As for Xin, he was able to use shinsu sensing since Liu Guanyi told him to grind and train that specific skill. It was essential for a scout so he had improved decently at it, of course it was still incomparable to what Adori had achieved.

For Liu Guanyi, even if he didn't need shinsu sensing ability, he still trained it. he picked up the skill quickly over the years and was better at it than Xin.
Not learning this a must-have skill just because he already had the ability to move unhindered in the darkness was utter foolishness.
Shinsu sensing wasn't just for observing and seeing what was around the user, nope. Its real usage was actually to feel the shinsu itself better.
This was why it was an important skill for anyone in the tower that most of the time, regulars had to eventually learn it to some degree before being able to successfully become Rankers.
The entire tower and its residents were centered on shinsu, it was the trend. Without shinsu, no life would exist in the tower, shinsu was just that important. Disregarding the importance of shinsu was a very stupid thought so Liu Guanyi wouldn't do it.
"Mr. Liu, what we're gonna do now?" Xin asked after he finished observing the environment.
Adori shook her head a little hearing this. Compared to both of them, Xin was still naïve and a bit slow. Well, he was still extremely young so it was okay.
Liu Guanyi merely smiled and pointed at the two groups. "Do you sense those regulars there?" Xin nodded to his question.
"Well, we are here to get all the items so what do you think should we do?" He asked Xin to test his response.
Realization dawned on him. "I see, then we should kill them all and look for the tunnels!" Since Xin was excited, he spoke much louder, making the regulars realize that there were more people around here.
"Who's there!?" The regulars from both teams turned their attention toward the noise and shined their spot with the lighthouses.
As the light banished the darkness away, they could clearly see the three people on the corner as the two of them were casually staring back at them.
"You, you are!?" one of them exclaimed in surprise after seeing them.
"Did you recognize them?" His friend asked.
"No, but just look at her hairpin!"
"Huh, wait?! She is a princess of Zahard!"
"What a Zahard princess doing in the workshop battle!? Why there was no information about it!?"
As they were assessing them and talking to each other, Xin dropped his head. "Sorry, I was too excited and ended up exposing our positions."
"Don't worry, it doesn't change anything." Liu Guanyi casually said and reassured him.
Liu Guanyi stared at Xin. "Now, you know what to do, right?" Xin quickly nodded and smiled widely.

Shaman
*** Let's get this clear now: the MC is a trans woman. This is not a gender-bender. It's set in a fantasy world but the exploration of identity and gender is reality-based. Not a joke, not a kinky turn-on. If this is a problem for you, please just act like an adult and look elsewhere for something to read. *** Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 2 x 5*, 1 x 4.5*, 1 x 3*, no reasons offered. A human shaman and healer returns from several years with the mysterious shyani, accompanied by her shapeshifting puma best friend. A valued friend, from her previous identity as a male student physician, has acquired an old shyani book, and extremists will not tolerate its presence in human hands. But back in human lands, the question arises: which world does she belong in? Generations ago, human explorers found a continent inhabited by an utterly alien culture of shapeshifting weyres and the shyani, humanoids who prefer dusk and dawn. A truce of sorts was eventually reached: humans claimed the rich lowlands, and the shyani and weyres retain the highlands. Along the border, practicality often rules, but on either side, old grudges linger in some hearts. As a student physician, Corin tried to take his own life, unable to bear the countless tiny wounds inflicted over twenty-one years of lying to himself in order to be, or pretend to be, socially acceptable. At the last improbable instant, intervention came, in the form of a spirit fox, who led him away from the existence he’d known in the lowlands and into the highlands. There, a puma weyre rescued him, and a shyani shaman helped him find his true self and offered a rebirth, a life with no more lies, and an important role to fill. Now a shaman and healer in her own right, Vixen who was once Corin learns that the one human who mattered to her in her previous life, then a fellow University student, has come into possession of an old shyani book, and the more fanatical shyani and weyres will stop at nothing to reclaim it and punish Jared. Even though it means going back into the lowlands and facing Jared as a woman, she can’t bear to just look the other way. This should be a short visit, just long enough to see the book into the proper hands and make sure Jared will not be killed for having it, and then she can return to the shyani community that has accepted her as their shaman. And, of course, her feline best friend Dayr insists on coming with her. But Jared is now a Lord, with considerable wealth and power, and his response to her presence isn’t one she expected. After years living with the shyani, she sees everything around her from a new perspective, and that makes it difficult to keep to the plan of making as few waves as possible. As an honoured guest in a highborn house, with only Jared aware that she has ever been anyone else, Vixen finds herself questioning where she belongs: with Dayr and the shyani, who accept her gender without question but have to make allowances for her differences, or with humans, in the culture she grew up in even though her past would mean a major scandal? *** Trigger warning: there are scenes of Vixen's previous life, which include some difficult moments and culminate in an (obviously unsuccessful) attempt at suicide before she finds her true self and a better life. Please be careful! This is the ONLY reason for the "Traumatising Content" tag.*** Complete stand-alone novel, 96K words. Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
