《Realistic Tower of God: The Martial Way》Chapter 73- New Direction Part 2

"Indeed, those animas are nothing, only regulars with Shinheuh, no more, no less. However, their leader was very special, at least according to my knowledge." Said Adori thoughtfully.
"Is it because of his special ability?" Liu Guanyi asked.
Adori nodded lightly. "Yes, his special ability is pretty comprehensive. He transformed into a beast form that significantly increased his physical ability and was even able to restrict his opponent's movement in a close range."
"But it's not those two abilities that make him amazing, it's his ability to turn ethereal to evade attacks."
Liu Guanyi nodded. "Indeed, that skill is truly unbelievable even with its limitations. If he was on par with you, or at least slightly weaker than you, he would have been a real challenge. We could even die against him. After all, he could shrug off our attacks like they were nothing."
Liu Guanyi stopped for a second and spoke with emphasis. "Even your Arie sword style."
"It's true that even my sword couldn't touch him." Adori nodded as she admitted her shortcoming calmly.
Liu Guanyi nodded in appreciation.
Only people who admitted their mistakes and weaknesses could quickly realize them and fix them. It was an important mindset to have, especially for anyone who wanted to keep improving themselves.
Admitting oneself's mistakes and shortcomings wasn't a weakness, instead, it was a sign of strength.
Rather than believing and deluding themselves to be infallible, it would be much better to receive a wake-up slap to awaken themselves from their delusion.
"Then, do you know what his special ability is? I am sure that it isn't just a shinsu control technique because Yacinth was clearly not an expert wave controller."
"Even if he was, his technique shouldn't have been able to resist your sword attack given the massive difference in shinsu power."

"I don't really know about it as well. It's the first time I have seen such a thing, but I have ever heard something similar when I was trained as a princess."
"If I'm not mistaken, they called it by the name of "Spells"." Answered Adori with solemn tone.
"Spells? Isn't there are no roles in the tower regarding that?" Liu Guanyi spoke with astonishment.
He was really intrigued, was this another secret of the tower?
"I've never heard about it again on the internet, nor regular people. I only ever heard it by chance in a passing from the people in the Zahard family's flying castle."
"I see, so this information is probably not well-known among common people, and only those in the high positions are privy of it." Liu Guanyi rubbed his chin.
"That's most likely the case." Adori said in agreement.
"Well, you aren't exactly in a good position, right, princess Adori? Those who want you dead apparently even sent a person armed with a spell, and if it's as mysterious and dangerous as we know, we are probably in great danger."
"Yes, we don't really know when and who will they send next time, and if they have spells in their repertoire, it will become much more dangerous."
"If a weakling like Yacinth could become dangerous with a spell, how dangerous it will be if a powerful person wields it?" Adori asked in wonder.
"However, it's not all that bad. With the rules of the tower, they couldn't really touch us so easily and probably have to be satisfied only to be able to send regulars after us. Even so, they can't directly interfere in the regulars' areas."
"Moreover, with your identity, they have to be subtle about it, not all of the higher-ups are against us, after all." Said Liu Guanyi.

"If the Zahard family knows about this, and they find out who targets their person, they will be in a hell of a trouble. Hence, it's better for us to not move outside of the regulars' areas and train as hard as possible to prepare for ourselves to face whoever they send."
"As long as we are far stronger than them and keep our real abilities hidden, they won't be able to do anything." Liu Guanyi gave his suggestion.
A charming smile bloomed on Adori's face. "Even though it's strongly related to constant training, I have to agree that your suggestion is very thoughtful and reasonable."
"However, why did you have to put on act in the Workshop battle, even asking me to handle most of them while not being too flashy about it?" Adori spoke with a curious tone.
While Liu Guanyi and Adori had never used their full power or being flashy, they usually showed themselves to be far above their fellow E-ranked regulars.
However, this time Liu Guanyi had acted like he was around the level of common member of the ten great families, even making Xin to do the same thing which made the battles they had in the Workshop battle were centered around her.
It felt like that he was making her as a decoy target to shift the public attention so they could hide behind her, and became much less conspicuous.
This was reasonable if Liu Guanyi wanted to hide his ability, but the thing was, he always did it, anyway.
The only difference this time was, he did it much more extremely. Why it was so? It was definitely related to the Workshop battle, but which aspects it was related to?
These questions bothered Adori. She wanted and deserved to get some answers after he had put her through his plan.
Liu Guanyi walked ahead and spoke with his back facing her. "Princess Adori, where is your allegiance really lies, is it the Zahard family? Or somewhere else?" His voice was very serene and calm as if Liu Guanyi didn't ask a serious question.
Adori was surprised by his sudden question, however, she quickly said her reply. "Of course, I'm not loyal to the Zahard family. I know that the Zahard family only took me because they saw my talent and wanted to use me for their gains."
"I do owe them a favor for giving me the opportunity to live a better life, however, it doesn't mean that I will always follow their command."
Looking at his long black hair and broad back, Adori spoke with a soft, wishful voice. "I don't know where my heart lies yet. Maybe, I will know it in the future."

Supreme Formation Immortal Sovereign
Falling under the Heavenly Tribulation, Ascending Celestial Oalur Kang finds that he's back in the past. Watch him pursue the Heavenly Path of Formations and rise to the peak of the Immortal Path! . . . . . . . . . Hello, this is F-Rank! This is my take on writing cultivation stories. Though I'm sure nobody cares, the intent behind this story was focused on creating a more or less logical cultivation system. I read several stories where the mc transmigrated to a cultivation world (not calling names to avoid unnecessary angst) and was able to completely break the cultivation system and the logic of the world because they had the power of science on their side and were able to think more logically than everybody else. Despite the fact that some characters in those stories were older than the scientific method of thinking and even the human civilization as we know it and the whole society was older than our human race. So I decided to write a story where things about cultivation make sense (as far as a magical world full of super magical people can make sense), so here we are. I don't know if I will be able to fulfil this purpose but I hope that the story will end up enjoyable. Can also be considered a prequel for my other story "Wasn’t my new life in a magical world supposed to be easy?" but has very little overlapping content and can be read as a stand alone story. Also available on Scribble Hub.
