《Realistic Tower of God: The Martial Way》Chapter 32- Shinsu Training Part 2

The wonderful thing was, the Ranker could create easily more than twenty bangs, maintain them, and control them to use them to become a powerful offensive attack.
To be able to do that, even more, with perfection, was incredibly hard, at least that was what Liu Guanyi currently felt.
But to him there was something even more amazing, it was what he said. Shockingly, Liu Guanyi felt that the Ranker had said completely truthfully without batting an eyelid as if he was stating obvious facts such as there was the daytime and nighttime.
'To able to live for hundreds of years without any signs of aging, it seems that Headon and those people's words weren't lies. And it seems even some of those who aren't Rankers can live for that long. It's like they are defying the natural laws themselves. Even when I was in my zenith I could only live for around three hundred years.' Liu Guanyi pondered.
'And it's all come from a single source… shinsu! Another reason to find out more and master this magical energy.' Liu Guanyi let out a sigh and recollected himself.
Finishing his demonstration, the ranker looked at the two again. "Now, you have seen it crystal clear how important it is for everyone in the tower to improve their shinsu control. It might be a hard, tiring, and long process, but it will definitely pay off later on. Just consider it as a long-term investment."
"Since you can already hit the targets accurately, it'd be too easy if you just repeating such a simple task over and over again. This won't give you any pressure to improve quickly, so let's increase the difficulty shall we?" Locke smiled teasingly and clicked his fingers.
The broken scarecrows disappeared and were replaced with new ones. However, there was something different this time. A small wooden humanlike figurine around one and a half meters tall appeared alongside the scarecrows. There were ten of them.

"The same rule, with the only addition that you cannot attack those wooden dolls and mustn't be caught by them. If any of you do get caught, we will keep repeating this until you succeed to destroy all of their heads. Now, begin!" Locke clicked his fingers as he shouted.
The wooden dolls sprang up quickly toward their position. Seeing this, Liu Guanyi and Xin looked at each other and then nodded. They ran forward as they split up to the left and right, closing the distance from the scarecrows to get a better aim.
The wooden dolls reacted swiftly by splitting off into two groups to block their advance from both directions.
They move a bit slow and clumsily similar to that of a little child, maybe it was because of their design?
After all, they were made only from woods, Liu Guanyi was sure that without Shinsu, these things wouldn't even work.
With their clumsy movements, Xin was able to get past them without needing to boost his body with shinsu and managed to reach a suitable distance to fire his bangs.
If Xin could do it with ease, it was also a piece of cake for Liu Guanyi. In just a few breaths he managed to get to a suitable distance without the wooden dolls being able to do anything to even just slow him down.
Without those nuisances, they freely fired their bangs rapidly at the scarecrows, breaking their heads. And whenever any of the wooden dolls got close enough to them, they moved away quickly and fired off their shinsu again.
Repeating the process, again and again, they destroyed all of them in just a couple of minutes. It seemed that they didn't even need to divide them do it, their speed was not that slow but it was their clumsiness that made them bad.

"Well, looks like you are already grasped the basic decently. However, don't be too happy about it. Those are merely wooden robots, the bottom of the worst robots ever created in the tower. If they were a real enemy, they wouldn't move as clumsy and would cooperate better." Said Locke with a smile.
"This still won't do to make you work harder. That's why let's increase the level of difficulty a bit a more, shall we?" The ranker spoke casually and clapped his hands.
This time, around thirty wooden dolls appeared on the field, however, that's not all there was to it. There were ten of them carrying bows and arrows.
"These are wooden archers, their power isn't good so even if you received many hits from them, you will be alright. However, it's not their power that you should be worried about. It's their accuracy and teamwork."
This time it wasn't that easy for Liu Guanyi and Xin, with twice the number of the wooden dolls the ground that wasn't covered with them was much lesser. Furthermore, as the ranker said, the wooden archers were indeed remarkable.
They shot arrows on any gaps that the wooden dolls didn't cover, so whenever Liu Guanyi and Xin wanted to bypass the blockage of the wooden dolls, they had to be careful and avoid the arrows since even a single hit would make them repeat this again.
It took them around five minutes to finish it, yet Xin felt quite tired since it was much more stressful and physically taxing than the previous ones with the wooden archers around.
"To be able to pass this level without enhancing your bodies, you are quite amazing. It's no wonder that you two are able to team up with a princess of Zahard of such caliber, your skills are the best I have ever seen from the E-ranked regulars in decades." Locke spoke with a hint of surprise in his voice.
"To be honest I wasn't interested in the beginning. Even though both of you are talented, talent is just talent. I have seen many blessed people that had wasted their talents, I thought you are the same and only exploited the princess to climb faster and easier."
The horned Ranker smiled and spoke warmly. "However, now I have seen that you are different. I didn't hear any of you complain about my training and grit through all of them. I applaud you for your determination."

Ursus Ex Machina
Ozzy was a man of the wild. Raised in a remote village atop the world's mightiest mountain, he'd been taught to respect and revere the natural world. The realm he was born into had been there long before him, and it would remain there long after him. Sure, there was the occasional madman who threatened to destroy it, but such boasts were always empty. No one individual was actually capable of demolishing this beautiful blue-and-green ball Ozzy called home. No matter what terrible magics these villains wielded, they were incapable of causing permanent harm to the environment. Even if the planet was completely devastated, it would recover. Life would find a way to flourish, same as it always had. That was what Ozzy believed from the bottom of his heart, so he never once felt the need to save the world he loved. After all, it was never truly in danger. The world would be fine no matter what. The people were a wee bit endangered, but that was another story altogether. However, what would happen if Ozzy suddenly found himself devoid of his beloved wilds? What would the man do if the realm he knew - one of wonder, magic, and chaos - was replaced with a man-made environment of concrete, industry, and steam? Ozzy could never imagine such a thing happening, and yet that was his new reality. After losing a fateful confrontation with a mad wizard, he and his friends found themselves transported to a strange world so thoroughly alien that every waking moment feels like a fever dream. Separated and scattered to the four corners of this land, each of these adventurers will need to adapt, survive, and overcome if they hope to reunite. They would also need to do so quickly. The sooner they are able to find one another, the sooner they can figure out a way back home and have another crack at putting an end to the villain's plans. Whether such a thing was actually possible in a world with barely any magic in it was a valid concern, but Ozzy had more immediate things to worry about. For instance, why did the air smell like a perpetual forest fire? How did ships sail through the sky as if it were water? And most importantly, was the pavement he was hurtling towards at high speed much softer than it looked? Probably not, but a man could hope.

Dear Student, What follows is an adaption of the diary of Emmett Carter before his Ascension. While the decades during and after the Aurora Apocalypse are lost to us, the Ascended himself has allowed us to publish this work so long as we warn the reader that it may not be entirely accurate or present an unbiased viewpoint of the events. One should also note that the Aurora was in flux during that time and some things that were possible in the early days are no longer possible, especially with the advent of the Akashic record. Editors have included footnotes when possible to explain pre-aurora technologies or concepts and how they relate to current magical technologies. The contents of this work may upset readers. If you’ve ever been in a natural disaster, had a house fire, witnessed a murder, lost a loved one to violence, or have a strong opinion on the sanctity of life, please do not read this.
