《Realistic Tower of God: The Martial Way》Chapter 10- Preparation For The Position Test

A young man with long black hair was lying motionless on a comfy bed.
Suddenly, his eyes opened as he lifted up his upper body and observed his surroundings. Looking at the unfamiliar furniture and room he was in, he remembered what he had experienced yesterday.
"So, it truly was not merely a dream, huh?" Liu Guanyi muttered.
"Why I am still alive? Was it a reincarnation, or… forget it, it's not important right now."
He analyzed everything, from his meeting with Headon, the fight with the white steel eel, the second floor, his talk with Xin, and the test with Novec, the administrator.
Based on everything he experienced and the information he gained yesterday, Liu Guanyi inferred that climbing the tower was extremely dangerous, or maybe it extended to the tower itself since he was always a believer of equivalence in all things.
He firmly believed that with great rewards came along great risks. Of course, there may be some exceptions but they were in the end, just exceptions, and he would not rely on exceptions.
Even as a member of the Tu Perie family, one of the ten great families, Xin was abandoned as a child! And it was because he simply didn't have the inherent talent of the family even though he had great physical strength, astonishing even, since he hadn't awakened his inner energy like him.
It was practically and theoretically impossible for a child like him to possess a physical power comparable to an initiate warrior who already had a peak of a normal human's strength in his previous world, which was further improved with their inner energy.
However, he remembered about that amazing blue water-like energy, "Shinsu" they said, or according to Headon, the sacred water of the tower.
'This shinsu might be the reason.' He touched his chin as he pondered.

The very thing that replaced the air in his world even though it was closer to a liquid substance than a gas substance such as the air, yet it also somehow served the functions of water as well.
Using it, people could easily create miracles that he cannot do even in his prime such as creating a transparent blue wall like the administrator did or even moving and transporting people far away instantly without any repercussion!
He felt it himself when he entered the giant eel's lair, it washed his body and diminished his tiredness. Even as he woke up today, he recovered much faster than he had expected.
With that experience, for him, it was clear that Shinsu had a very positive effect on the body. So, strengthening physical strength beyond the normal was very reasonable.
'What if I can combine it with my inner energy?' Liu Guanyi wondered.
If he could master shinsu, even if he only used it to enhance his body and then combined it together with his inner energy, his power would be doubled!
No, maybe even more! His defense would also become impenetrable!
Liu Guanyi couldn't help but fantasize about it. He could see many possibilities widely opened for him, waiting to be realized!
However, he soon returned to his senses as he realized that to get the opportunity itself, he had to be strong and capable enough.
For him, the answer was simple. He just had to return to his peak as a martial warrior. And to do that he would need to train and then recover, and repeat them over and over again.
He got up and started doing a single-hand push-up with the bed on top of him since there was nothing heavy in the room so he had to do with it. Then, he switched to sit-ups, pull-ups, and many other exercises with only a single hand and additional weight each if possible, and continued doing them for hours.

The good thing was, after becoming an initiate warrior he didn't have to worry about overtraining and warming up since he could easily solve that with his extremely fine muscle control by expending his inner energy. Of course, he still limited his training since his body had its own limits and his inner energy was still very little.
When he finished his training, he quickly cleaned himself in the bathroom then took the sword he got previously, tied it to his right waist, and went out of his room.
The morning light shined brightly as he walked a few meters away from his room and knocked on a door adjacent to his room. It was Xin's lodging for the time being since the final test was conducted for two months period or so, he was told.
The door opened as a cheerful-looking boy appeared, looking at the current him now and yesterday, Liu Guanyi smiled and spoke. "You look much better than yesterday."
Xin scratched his head and sheepishly answered. "Ah, it is all thanks to you. If you didn't invite me yesterday I wouldn't know what to do anymore."
"Anyway, let's go to the cafeteria before we have to gather in the hall! I really need to eat badly." Invited Liu Guanyi.
"O-ok, let's go!" Xin agreed quickly.
They walked together following the path to the cafeteria, after walking for a while they finally arrived. The cafeteria was big, to say the least. Its ceiling was tall, and its width made it capable of easily accommodating hundreds of humans.
Maybe it was designed to hold those hybrids (he decided to name them so) since some of them were much bigger and taller than normal humans, and even some of them were huge from what Liu Guanyi had observed.
In the front, a hybrid octopus was wearing a cook's hat and uniform. Not wasting any time he came closer and spoke. "Please food for two people."
"Hello, regulars. Please wait for a moment." The cook smiled and took out two plates full of dishes and side dishes and served them to him. "There you go."
Seeing the portions of the food, Liu Guanyi felt it wasn't enough and asked for more. "Can you add more, because that's not enough for us?"
"Sorry, but the food is already rationed. If you want to add you need to spend your points from the position test." Said the cook.
"Sigh… that's fine then." He sighed and reluctantly accepted his fate.
This was a small setback for him since every martial warrior, especially initiates like him, would need to consume much higher energy than normal humans to be able to develop their body and inner energy.
Without enough energy intake, even if he trained all day, he wouldn't be able to improve, and it would even burden his body instead since it would only tire his body and the recovery was impossible without enough energy.
They quickly finished their meals and departed to the hall, to receive the last test… the position test!

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)
