《I've Transmigrated... with a Broken System》Chapter 12 - Measurements

Kathy was ecstatic when she heard this. Getting rid of that armour, which had been stuck in storage for two years was definitely and exciting prospect. Now, was get as much profit as possible from the sale. She knew that Renard wanted the armour but she had already promised him a reduction in price so she couldn't go over-zealous with the cost.
Thankfully for Kathy, Renard hadn't noticed the excitement on her face as he was in his own inebriated state. The reason he was in such a state was due to how powerful the systems effect was. Renard couldn't believe it, to completely removed the de-buffs that were on the armour was simply overpowered.
Renard's thoughts came back to him as he remembered where he was and that he was currently in the process of buying some armour. In the next moment, he continued the conversations with Kathy, "As I just said, I would like to purchase this set. The only other thing I need is for the armour to be reshaped, can you also do that?."
Renard's cheeks quickly turned to have a faint pink hue on them. He had just realised that he would need to have his measurements taken to make the armour fit.
Before Renard could start fantasizing about a beautiful woman running her hands across his body, Kathy started to speak, "Of course, if you just follow me I will take your measurements." Kathy walked round the counter and started walking towards a curtain that covered a door frame. As Renard walked towards the curtain, he felt as if bugs with hot legs were crawling all over his body, he still had the notion that a beautiful female was going to take his measurements and not Kathy.
"If you just step in there I will start soon, I will warn you before I start taking your measurements though so you won't be startled. You seem a little nervous, so it must be your first time. Don't worry too much, as long as you stand still and let it just happen, nothing will go wrong. It's not like it's an unpleasant experience after all."

Kathy shot off through a door to the side of the curtain, she pointed Renard to at the curtain again as she left, intending for him to go in. Renard felt a little confused as how Kathy was going to find out the measurements from another room. Renard came up with the idea that there must be another entrance and that Kathy must have gone off to tell the measuring lady.
Renard reined his mind and stopped his useless thoughts, 'I must not let myself get carried away like this, my rise to power must not have any blemishes in it's history. Public opinion is everything.' He then headed in through the curtain.
Renard's movements paused for a moment as a sinister thought drifted into his mind. 'You know, I could just become evil, I could just do what ever I wanted then.'
'Pssh, who am I kidding, if I want to become powerful I need as little issues in my way as possible. If I just decide to become evil I'm going to end up provoking someone powerful and be destroyed. Even with my system I don't have the confidence in it to overcome all enemies, well at lease not now anyway.'
'Maybe when I am stronger than most people I can give it a go.' A glint flashed in Renard's eyes and the corner of his lips raised slightly at the thought.
Renard parted the curtain and stepped into the room. When he was inside the room was only about a metre in each direction. However, Renard didn't see the door that he expected or the measuring lady he expected either. 'How is the measuring lady going to get in, surely she doesn't have to come back round through the curtain, that would just be bad design.' Renard harrumphed.
Renard neglected to think about the gems in each corner of the room. They looked inert and dull and almost blended in with the darkness of the corners.

"Get ready!" Kathy's voice suddenly came from above him.
As Renard looked up in his confusion, he noticed that there was a downwards dome in the ceiling. It looked like it was made of a glass-like material as it was transparent. Kathy could be seen sitting at the edge of the dome in the floor above Renard, pouring a glowing liquid into it. Once all the liquid had entered the dome it started to sink straight through it, splitting into eight beams that flowed into each of the crystals in the each of the corners.
After the beams disappeared into the eight crystals, a strong flash came from all of them at the same time.
[Non-Harmful Energy Detected]
[Initiating Default Response Setting]
[Current Setting - No User Preference]
[No Action Performed]
After the flash had finished and Renard had read the notifications displayed by the system gave, the liquid left the crystals and floated back up to the dome gathering into a pool. After that, Kathy placed a cloth into the liquid which absorbed it completely. Although Renard couldn't see exactly what was going on, he did see that writing appear on the cloth and then Kathy quickly started to write something on a wooden slab in her hands.
Kathy then held the cloth over a bowl to her side. After holding the cloth in the air for a few seconds it swiftly disintegrated, only leaving the liquid, which had fallen into the bowl. After this process was done, a look of relief appeared on Kathy's face and she looked to Renard. "You can head back to the counter now. I will be down with you in a moment." She said.
Renard was stunned at this display. Although, he had seen the system do stuff before which he had considered magical, it really didn't compare to something truly magical. This was the first time that Renard saw the possibilities that were available with the magic in this new world. Eagerness welled up inside him, he couldn't wait to complete the quest for the Lord of this town and get a cultivation technique so he could do these amazing things too.
Renard walked out of the curtain and headed back to the front desk and began to wait. However, it didn't take long for Kathy to reappear. Renard was alerted to her presence by her voice from behind him. "You sure seemed excited to have your measurements taken. It must be your first time seeing an elemental-powered piece of equipment, I was blown-away the first time I saw one too, they are really cool."
"However, if you think that machine is amazing you should see some of the equipment that is made with spiritual energy. Those cultivators sure do know how to make amazing stuff, the only downside is how expensive it is. You basically have to be a cultivator to afford it. Unfortunately, that all comes down to talent at the end of the day and you aren't likely to find someone with that amount of talent in a place like Littlefeather."
"Anyway, from your measurements I've worked out the price. It should cost you 1 Gold and 2 Silver in total. I understand the price seems quite high in comparison to other sets of armour. However, you have to remember that it is elemental infused leather, which is more expensive."
Renard accidentally blurted the first thing that came to his mind. "Wow, that is cheaper than my room."
