《I've Transmigrated... with a Broken System》Chapter 8: Finally, a Bed.

'Of course I would get public, bloody, speaking!' Renard was truly enraged, he just wanted to become powerful, 'Why must this system constantly screw me over?' Renard knew that he must calm down, he needed to get away from Kyle's shop and find somewhere to sleep. It was only after he calmed down a little, that the feeling of tiredness hit his body like a pile of bricks. He was suddenly craving the feeling of sleep. To drift away into beautiful dreams, a place where the system couldn't get him.
Renard looked around and headed down the East Road. It seemed the best way for him to go as it was the closest. He hoped that there would be a tavern or somewhere he could stay, down the street. Without hesitation he headed down the road, he didn't even want to take a look behind, just in case Kyle had come out the shop and was there.
It was easy to locate the taverns in a place like this, as they would be the only place with their lights still up at this time. This was because most normal people would have already gone to sleep, leaving only those hard workers awake who would always stay up and drink their worries and tiredness away.
Unluckily for Renard, it seemed as though there was only one tavern on this road. However, it seemed like quite large, so they should provide lodging. The tavern was called 'The Misty Tree' it had a big sign board outside with a big tree carved on it.
Renard pushed on the doors and stepped in to the room. On the left was a large bar that span the entire side of the building, the bar tender was talking to two patrons who had a drink in their hands. There were five or six tables littered around the room, with varying amount of wooden chairs at each.

At the back wall was a set of stairs going upwards, a sign hung next to is saying lodging. Renard was happy, he finally knew a bed was in sight. He stumbled towards the counter, the bar keep noticed this and walked over to him.
"What can I get for ya? You here for a drink or a room?" The bar keep was tall and had thick arms, he was probably a hunter by day and ran the bar at night. He was a fairly simple man as he got straight to the point without any blabber.
Renard quickly replied, not wanting to waste the man's time, "I am looking for a room I can use for a few days. How much?"
"5 Silver a night for the regular or 8 Silver for the large one. The large one has a bigger bed and is more comfortable. Which do you want and how long are you staying?" He was straight to the point, Renard was relieved at this as all the people he had met recently had been far too confusing.
"I will take the 8 silver one, I plan to use the room for six days. Here, I require 2 silver change." He handed over 5 gold coins. In this world, 10 bronze coins was equivalent to 1 silver, 10 sliver to 1 gold and 10 gold to 1 platinum.
The bar keeps eyes seemed to glow a little, 'I didn't expect that to work, haha, that room is barely worth 3 silver a night.'
He then handed over 2 silver to Renard and said, "Amanda will show you to your room. She has the key, take it from her when you get there and give it back to her when you leave."
A girl stepped out from behind the end of the bar, she was waiting at the bottom of the stairs. The bar keep saw the girl step out and returned to his conversation with the other patrons.

Renard felt a slight singe in his heart, he had a slight fear towards women after the whole Lucy incident. However, knowing that a nice bed awaited him, his building fatigue finally forced him forward. Once he reached the stairs he spoke out to Amanda. "Please take me to my room, I just want to sleep."
Amanda was somewhat shocked, she had seen how the rich people acted when they saw her. She had been violated by their eyes many times, but she was used to it. It was part of the reason the bar keep kept her on, her tolerance was very high. She was shocked as this young man didn't even try anything, he just said he wanted to sleep.
"Please follow me, I will show you to your room." Amanda said.
After walking up the stairs Renard was about to drop to the floor. 'Who knew that stairs would drain the last of my energy.' Thankfully, the first door they came across was his room.
"This is your key, if you need anything just come and find me downstairs. Please don't lose the key or you will have to pay for a replacement." Amanda was well trained and spoke in a chirpy tone despite Renard's lifeless eyes.
As Amanda started to leave Renard, who was not thinking straight at all, decided to ask a question. "You're not a boy too are you?"
"I'm sorry, I don't think I understand. What do you mean by that?" Amanda was confused, but the priority was the customer, she didn't want to make him mad so she answered as calmly as she could.
"This is important, I need to know!" Renard was getting frustrated, he sluggishly managed to slouch his arm into Amanda's crotch, or that's what he thought, it was actually Amanda's knee.
"I'm safe, not a boy. Goodnight Amanda." Renard closed the door and fell onto the bed, he was so tired he fell asleep straight away.
Amanda stood there in shock. This wasn't the weirdest thing that had happened to her here. It was still something really weird though, 'If he wanted to make a move on me, he would have just dragged me into the room. Why is that man such a weirdo and touched my knees....'
Renard was having happy dreams, he danced in a field and was singing, "I am safe, she isn't a boy. Fake women don't exist in this world. Lucy didn't trick me. YAY." However, these were all just assumptions made by Renard to make himself feel better. Realistically, he had no idea.

8 147Reincarnation of a Businessman
A businessman is betrayed by those he holds dearest and reincarnates into a mystical world of cultivation where the power of a single person can split the heavens. However, his reincarnation does not go smoothly... ******************** This is a xianxia (cultivation/progression fantasy) story which fuses a lot of western fantasy elements. This story includes POV's of different characters which are all going to be developed in the future and will have an effect on the story. The novel is named after the reincarnation of the businessman which serves as a cataclysm in the world of cultivation, and while the MC uses some of his business knowledge, this novel is not centered around the MC creating a business empire. I plan to extend the story into at least 2 books, both taking place in the same world. ******************** Updates will happen once every 2 days, but this is often going to change to once every day or once every 3 days because I am not currently writing full-time, and neither is my editor.
