《I Will Slay Everything》Chapter 7

"But for what reason did you saved a measly lifeform like me in that kind of situation? You got no reason to save me, aren't I wrong? After all, we don't even know each other. Means we're no different from a complete stranger. So what reason did you saved my life back then?"
Of course, there's no way Wei Xiaodan could easily trust a somewhat looking demon just because it saved his life.
The devil seemed to be amused by Wei Xiaodan's reaction, as he chuckled in an evil way.
"No need to be so alarmed. If I wanted to kill you, I wouldn't have saved you even if you died way back there. I mean, I can even tear you to pieces right now if I wanted to so stop sweating over useless stuff."
Ugghh… He was kinda right about that. Wei Xiaodan couldn't retort to the devil since he seemed powerful enough to be able to kill him without even a minute.
"May I ask where am I right now?" Wei Xiaodan didn't wasted any more time and went around to beat the bush immediately.
The devil summoned a cup in his hand with a coffee in it and then proceed to even summon a table with two seats at the opposite seat, before leaving a coffee in the empty seat afterwards gestured to Wei Xiaodan to sit down first.
Wei Xiaodan didn't stand on ceremony and carefully rested his buttocks upon the soft cushion under the seat.
The devil sat on the opposite side before summoning an another cup of coffee and shoving it into his mouth. He then proceed to put down the empty cup, and gazed at Wei Xiaodan with an eyes of a wild beast.
"Currently, we're in the deepest part of the underworld renowned around the hell, called Mitovas. And this is my house, I built this on my own by the way," The devil paused before continuing with an introduction, "My name is Mevis, one of the seven kings of hells. And currently, I'm in need of a disciple. But no matter what I do, I just couldn't take to liking demonic ones as a disciple so I started searching for one in the other planets. That's when I found yours. And out of the millions I've watched over, you"re the one I've taken to liking the most. That's why I decided to save your life back there."

Wei Xiaodan showed a confused expression next. And just to excite him even more, the devil added, "Moreover, you desire to get revenge on those gods who've taken over your planet, right? I can give you strength to defy them and even overpower them if you join me to become my disciple."
Wei Xiaodan was almost tempted, but he still rejected the devil's offer. After all, he's not that insane enough to accept an offer from a devil. Furthermore, he wants to get his revenge by himself, not by the hands of others.
"Quite a shame to tell you this, but I want to defy those gods by my own strength. And also, I want to slay them with my own hands. Not with the hands of others."
The devil had already predicted that he would say that, as he became even more delighted now. He wanted to make Wei Xiaodan his disciple even more by now.
"Just as I expected from the disciple I've picked out. You sure did refused my offer. Actually, I would have murdered you right here if you accepted it since I don't like to have a disciple who relies on others too much. But since you were just what I expected, I'm eager to make you my disciple even more than before."
Wei Xiaodan shuddered for a moment there. What could have happened if he accepted his offer. Surely, he would be blood and flesh by now.
Wei Xiaodao inwardly praised his stubbornness and pride that won't let others taint it.
But still, he had to refuse this offer since he still couldn't trust this devil in front of him.
Who knows, the devil might be even scheming something and betray him at the end of the day. So no way in hell he would agree.

"I appreciate your offer but I really had to decline your offer. My uncle's probably worried about me right about now so I have to get my way back now. Also, I still got work to do tomorrow so pardon me for leaving without accompanying my saviour for an extended time." Wei Xiaodan got up from his seat, and prepared to leave.
He searched around the room, and when he found the doorway. He walked over there with cold sweats gathering on top of his forehead.
When he was about to open the door, Mevis revealed a grimace as he cackled like a devil. Oh, wait. Ain't he really a genuine devil isn't he? So calling him a devil was a bit…
"You're free to leave whenever you want to. But remember my words, I'll never lend you a hand until you accept my offer on becoming my disciple and learn some things from me. Heck, guiding you to the exit won't also be my responsibility so don't expect anything from me." Mevis said, his grimace growing even larger.
Wei Xiaodan didn't dare retort to his words and sweep his palm until it's touching the doorknob.
Wei Xiaodan spinned the doorknob and opened the door. And when he pushed it open, his eyes watched hell unfold before his very eyes.
The sky which usually seen dyed blue was cloaked into an entirely crimson blood. He could vividly feel his skin churned like a coal, as intense heat started rampaging under his skin.
"Urgh…." Wei Xiaodan groaned in pain and hurried closed the door.
When he realized that the pain immediately vanished as if it never made its appearance when he closed the door, Wei Xiaodan hurried shifted his gaze back to Mevis and asked nervously, "W-why the outside was like that…?"

The story follows as the boy encounters many different things along his growth and embarks on a journey to uncover the mysteries of his past and discover his destiny. Note from Author Hello, readers. This is a rewrite of the original Phoenix Rising that I had started way back in 2014 and am still going with over 500 chapters. I am rewriting from scratch on this one because, when I looked back at the earlier chapters, I found out that I had made a lot of mistakes, plot holes that went unexplained, and links missing between events. That's why, I've decided to write from the beginning with a new vision of improving the story, bridging the missing links, and change our certain events happened to make a much better story than the original. So, I thank each and every one of you for giving this story a chance, and I hope that you will come to like it. Please do leave comments down in each chapter to give me possible feedback or any suggestions for me to improve my story on. I gladly accept all advices from my readers and promise I will adapt to the best I possible could with the vision I have for this story. Phoenix Rising: Wikia

Era: Dawn of the New Gods
Concise Synopsis: This is a post-apocalyptic story about the origins of various powerful figures that appeared after the apocalypse event. During the apocalypse monsters appeared possessing powers and constitution beyond the limits of human understanding. They ravaged the world and brought down all governments. The first part of the story follows Jade, a terrorist that was ravaging the world before the monsters arrived. Dramatic Synopsis: The New Gods, the most feared and revered beings on the planet. They are forces capable of absolute destruction and creation. The Council of Branches Hayley, the Living Lie (if that is her real name) Chao Feng, the Prince of Stars Lara, the Mother of Heroes The Great City of Tver Gog, the Ever Losing War The Unkillable Freak Dave, the Flow Demon Avatari, (only the name is known) Satoshi, the Gentle Hurricane As Impactful as they are no one knew their origin, they are called the New Gods so there must be Old Gods. I and my collegues dedicated our lives to finding their origins only to find out that the beings we fear and adore were once like us, average, mortal and weak... at least most of them were. *It is a sort of reverse RPG as no one knows anything either skills, abilities or how the system works but they find out on their own or develop their own skills or abilites. *The story has many protagonists and point of views but it paints a beatiful story of survival in a world of endless perils for both the humans and the monsters(some monsters are protagonists). *There is a system but it is very limited (not overpowered) and treats everyone equally, monster or human. The system is very different from regular systems; no exp, levels and system items. *The story is a world building story where overall, the world is the true main character. The cover image photo is credited to Angel David *For now it's one chapter a day

To Blunt The Sharpest Claw
The Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels are a series of New Fable genre novels that involve cats and dogs and high adventure and romance and espionage and food-fights and hotels and explosions and car chases. With large casts, exotic locations and an absurdity only possible in the absence of human characters, the Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels blend Wind in the Willows with James Bond, though with more cafes and fewer badgers. This submission is the third title in its Morigan Trilogy, beginning two-thirds of the way through the series' longest adventure yet. Here's a quick recount of what's happened so far: When Oscar Teabag-Dooven, a Velvet Paw of Asquith, is ordered to investigate how a mysterious poet, the Ar'dath-Irr, is able to travel instantaneously around the world, two very bad things happen. Firstly, he meets Lydia, an insane librarian who punches everyone in the face, and secondly, the Ar'dath-Irr reveals he is intent on taking over the world. Although this second thing might be considered worse than the first, Oscar feels differently following Lydia’s destruction of a cafe, a library and his face in one afternoon. In comparison, thwarting world domination just seems easier. Along with Binklemitre, a fellow Velvet Paw of Asquith, and Lydia, Oscar infiltrates the Ar’dath-Irr’s realm of dark poetry to discover the dog not only intends wrenching the world apart but has no intention of cleaning up afterwards. As a result, Oscar decides it’s all too hard and goes home to have a bath. After lots of arguing and the sort of food fight that posh restaurants were invented for, Lydia and Binklemitre convince him that they must stop the Ar’dath-Irr for several reasons, one of them quite serious. A vibrant cast of characters collide as Oscar, Lydia and Binklemitre battle the Ar’dath-Irr and his disciples in an adventure involving exploding cafés and appalling hotels, car chases and inadvertent surgery, dreadful poetry, lots of arguments and at least one temper-tantrum, all of which draw the three into dark and convoluted corners of a world they weren’t aware existed. Moreover, any chance of sitting down and discussing things over some buns disappears when Lydia punches the Ar’dath-Irr in the face. This results in her having a psychotic episode and Oscar getting run over by an ambulance. Although Binklemitre suffers neither, he witnesses both, which is almost as dreadful, though not nearly so messy. An enormous battle ensues, followed by a dinner party and then everything explodes.
