AN: Here is the third chapter, enjoy... Maybe...

The computer continued to analyse the data from the differents sensors and scanners for a while before giving results. Francis looked over them, then went to see his subordinates.
“Robynn, Proteo, any signs of civilisation near us?”
“I checked the surroundings with the drone, nothing within 100km from here except some wide plains and a bit of forest with a few big animals.” said Proteo.
Proteo was the second npc made by Francis, after completing the third special quest. He made it to complement him and Robynn, his first npc. Proteo's primary class is soldier, and his secondary class is doctor. He is a 190 tall cyborg, with black hair reaching his shoulders, and sharp, bright cybernetic green eyes. He has a straight nose and a slightly square face, and his body had muscles, but without being overbearing.
Francis made him to look both calm and fierce, and it gave people the impression to look at a beautiful, wild predator. He usually wear a protective vest and pants, with a dark combat suit underneath. The combat suit protect from heat, cold and electricity, and is – . The protective vest and pants look like ordinary clothes, but are reinforced to protect from blades and light firearms.
“I didn't detect any kind of advanced means of communication within 1000km. There is nobody near, and if there are, they must be either less advanced, or using something we can't see.” said Robynn.
Robynn was the first npc he made after the second special quest since he failed the first. At that time, Francis was focusing more on grinding skills than earning money, so he was often very low on money and had a few troubles because of it. She is a mutant, her primary class is trader, and her secondary class is thief. Francis made her to get a lot of money, be it legally or illegaly, it was fine as long as money was coming.
She had long straight black hair reaching the middle of her back, and deep blue eyes. She had an ovale face, with a straight nose and full lips. She was a little short with a height of 163cm. Her skin had a pretty, healthy tan, she has a great figure, with a D cup chest and a butt just as endearing. He made her pretty for trade, and short for infiltration and stealing. His ingame life got a lot better after getting her. She wore a business suit and pants.
“Good. After a bit of analysis, here is what I found about this place. The planet is bigger than the Earth, around 50000 km of circumference. But even though it's bigger, it's also lighter since the gravity is 90% of that of Earth. The composition of the air is similar, but with a higher ratio of oxygen, at nearly 27%.”

“That's good for us.” said Proteo “We come from a world with less oxygen and higher gravity, so we will be stronger than the other life forms of similar size and weight. No wonder I felt stronger than before.”
“The ground underneath the snow is made of solid rock, and from the preliminary analyse, the elements are the same as those found on Earth. The trees from the distant forest look similar to some of those found on Earth, though bigger. Most of the wild life here must be bigger. And finally, the atmosphere is full of some kind of etheris, but it's different from the one found on earth. It may have side effects on our power sources.”
“Another form of etheris, in a significant amount in the atmosphere... I hope it will have no adverse effects on our bodies. I recommand a medical check on everyone twice per day for the time being boss. And it's also precaution against the local micro organisms.”
“That's a good idea, that will be every morning and every evening starting tomorrow. Everybody is now required to wear a medical watch. Now Uranus, what about our supplies?”
“We have 5 days worth of normal food, and 20 days of emergency rations. I had a look at our weapons, they seem to be in good state and we have an average amount of amnutions for all of them.”
'That's right, we did resupply before leaving for the setting sun...'
Uranus was the last npc Francis made. Since he was doing really good with Robynn and Proteo, he decided to make her for fun and chores. She is a human whose primary class is entertainer and secondary class is servant. She is 170cm tall, with long drilled blond hair and golden eyes, and a heart shaped face. She has a great figure with goergeous curves, bigger than Robynn's. She wore a dark blue maid outfit with the skirt reaching above the knees, and black stockings.
“It looks like we are near the northern arctic zone of this planet. There is no trouble with our electronics, we are lucky the magnetics fields are almost the same as Earth. Starting tomorrow we will slowly move toward the south while looking for traces of civilisation.”
“The cold is probably the reason we didn't find anything. Unless the intelligent natives live deep underground or underwater.” said Robynn.
“That would be sad since we would miss each other... Who wants to pass on the opportunity to meet another intelligent life form?” Francis added.
“It's true that it would be very interesting” replied Proteo.
“By the way, from my observations the time here is the same as Earth, and the local time was already calculated. Check it on our private database and update all the concerned devices. I'm going back to the lab to study the ambiant etheris. Call me if something interesting happen, and Uranus, bring me mt food there when it's done.”

Francis went back into his lab. He looked at himself in the small mirror near the entrance. He saw a young man with dark brown hair and light brown eyes, slightly tanned skin and handsome features. His build was a bit on the skinny side, but he was well toned, with a height of 180cm. He was better looking than his original self. It was the body of his avatar, Tonyorobsky, or Tony like he asked Robynn to call him back during the game. He had to remind himself that he was no longer Francis, though he will not forget what he was.
In a sci-fi setting, there was no way he would pass on the opportunity to make his own high tech devices or customize other things. That was why his primary class was engineer. He could do most of the work from the conception to the fabrication. Since the world was also a dangerous place, his second class was mercenary, not as strong as a soldier, but with more freedom.
He wanted to be as free and independent as possible. He could defend himself and taking care of his equipment by hmself. He didn't join any guilds, but he did make some joint missions with some of them, or with some other small party of players. But most of the time he was alone, grinding many skills to merge them. Being able to make npc was salvation for him. Even though he didn't really mind others, they wouldn't wait for him while he was working on so many skills.
That's why, he got really attached to his npcs as they would follow him anywhere, or wait for him for inlimited amount of time. At the beginning he treated them like slaves, but with time he started to treat them like real companions. It was a bit different for Uranus as he made her to relieve bordome and do all the chores, almost like a slave. The name was chosen specifically for the pun present in it. Now that they had become alive, he felt a bit guilty for her.
'I can think about the past once I'm sure the etheris from this world wwon't be harmful to our equipment. If our power source fail we will find ourselves in a very dangerous situation'
Francis, no, Tonyorobsky started to make a serie of tests on several small pieces of etherium. Some of them, who were empty before the transfert, had absorbed a bit of etheris from this world. Some time later, Uranus came to give him, so after a quick meal he resumed his experiences. After a while, he came to the conclusions that the etheris present in the air was a lot less powerfull than the one from Earth, however it boosted the efficiency of the earthen ether reactor.
They consumed less ether, and at the same time provided more power. And it accelerated the regeneration of earthen etheris in the etherium pieces that still contained earthern etheris. That meant it was highly unlikely for them to get energy trouble for the rest of their lives. Also, if some intelligent being use etheris in this world, it wouldn't compare to the etheris reactors he possessed. He quickly dismissed that thought, as he didn't know how good was the etherium from this world, if there was any.
“That's really great, so that mean I won't have to worry about energy when using Elric. That makes me eager to discover the interesting materials from this world and work on them... Wait...”
'Something is odd. My mind is clearly that of the human named Francis, that got just above average grades in school and was working in a supermarket. I didn't do any advanced studies, yet I just spent a few hours doing analysis and tests on an advanced fictional material and energy. Back in the game most of the skills were assisted, be it in combat, sport, trade, crafting or research. You couldn't get a degree in physics in real life because you got a degree in the game, everything was very simplified. Yet, I did a bunch of advanced research like I was used to it.'
Tony tried to think about everything he new in science, engineering, martial arts and weapons, but it wouldn't go past what he understood without the assistance of the game. No matter how hard he though about, his knowledge remained the same as that of his original self.
“But, then, how was I able to do all of that? Let's remember what happened... I see, there is still some kind of assist system. When my goal was defined and I started to work, the knowledge became available. But since I don't need it right now it's locked. I guess part of the game system was carved in my body, for the use of the skills I learned. I guess it's a good thing to not have my mind suddenly jammed with knowledge, or being unable to use efficiently most of my devices and equipment.”

An Unwavering Craftsman
Given the hereditary nature of classes, everyone expects Damien—the child of two high-tiered adventurers—to be granted a high-tier combat class of his own. Expectations are betrayed, however, when Damien finds himself instead saddled with a crafting class of the lowest possible tier: [Neophyte Tailor]. Left practically crippled compared to those with better classes, Damien wants to avoid becoming a pawn in the machinations of the nobility, desiring only to grind his level in peace while wondering why the usual rules of inheritance were broken. Was it his desire to excel by his own effort, rather than an unearned blessing from a god? Did the Five take offence at his opinions on the unfairness of hereditary classes? Or maybe it was something to do with the alien voice that intruded on his ceremony? A voice that offers great power, and freedom from the tyranny of the Five, but that never names its price. This story is litRPG-lite. While the class someone possesses controls most of their lives, people don't get dinged at for every level they gain, nor can they see their status without undergoing a special ritual. The MC has no romantic interest. Crafting is merely a way to game the system, and doesn't feature heavily in the story, aside from a few descriptions on how they're carrying out the system abuse. There is, on one unfortunate occasion, maths. The pace is quick. This was a participant in the Spring 2022 writathon. (i.e. it was posted as-written at high speed. I may give it another editing pass in the future.)

Researchers have spent years developing the technology. It had advanced to where a mere hour in real world time would be the equivalent of a year in immersion. This game transcended that to where an hour of real time is the equivalent to an entire century within the game. Humanity had essentially evolved into immortality through technology. This story follows a group of player characters within a world where the NPCs are as real as they are. Follow their story to see what influences they have in the world of Angvarde.
